God if it were a year ago I would be in the exact situation where I could do it. Mitigate doxxing and swatting incidents, as it's not somebodys place of residence. B. it would give you a platform to expand your business ventures/current operations involving the farms. C. It would prevent you from having to pay unexpected housing related costs. In the arrangement as you proposed it, YOU would be the landlord, with responsibility towards a tenant, meaning if the heater goes out, the water pump shits itself, the septic tank blows or backs up, you would be in charge of handling it. And not to PL too much, but I have experience with areas like the ones your suggesting, and there is a fucking reason these places have stayed cheap despite the housing market being what it is right now, these places are shithole central, nothing new has been built there for 50 years or more when it comes to residential buildings, these places are fixer uppers at best and hovels so squalid the only reason they haven't been condemned yet is because the housing inspector couldn't be fucked to do it, in which case the attention that running the kiwifarms mail out of this place would bring runs the risk of having your property condemned, which you absolutely do not want to be handling from Serbia.

There are special letters that PO Boxes cannot accept, and Lolcow LLC needs a way to accept them.

Mainly these letters are "you're getting sued, we expect you in court on X date".

Although you can literally drop that letter in a mailbox, if the defendant doesn't show up and loses by default, they can come back later and say they were not informed and therefore they were denied their right to a trial, and they could be right. Maybe the letter got stolen, maybe it was misdelivered, maybe it was never sent (in an act of intentional sabotage)... Or maybe the defendant is lying.

It's hard to tell with the standard mail system. Even with package tracking, there are also porch pirates. Therefore some letters need to be hand delivered to a human being, and Lolcow LLC needs a human responsible for accepting those letters.

Edit: this post has a short but real example of why some letters are harder to send than others. The FBI emailed Null and got mad because technology is stupid and it didn't actually deliver.

These days they want you to have an address, so you can get away with registering a business if you opt into business services at a mail box location and usually UPS is better for this than USPS. It's a huge mess and there will be varying levels of success on what accepts the street address of a business box and what doesn't.

As for a registered agent, the agent functions as the point of contact for legal papers, and you can't just drop those papers off in a mail box, you actually have to hand them to a person. An example of this is Ralph, when he was in some casino and a person walked up to him and handed him papers. You have to have a person that can receive those documents and for there to be a record of them receiving those documents, which is why there's normally a 9-5/M-F requirement as well for a registered agent.

There's a whole industry around paying some dude to sit in a room and jerk off for 8 hours a day, as long as he can accept a legal packet once in a while for a business. These are an option but they will drop you with enough bullshit as that impedes on the dudes downtime to watch porn.

Edit: Oh, and the registered agent has to be in the state of your business.

1. the guy could start throwing out your mail or just not scan it anymore and if he's living there you couldn't easily kick him out due to tenant protections
2. the type of person willing to live in a house like this is probably also a liability to be willing to accept payment to send copies of the scans to other people

If found someone I thought I could trust, I'd negotiate to a price which is probably 50% of the regular price someone would have to pay, and then just before signing, I'd halve the price yet again and tell him how much I'm counting on him and I'd be there to support him in case things become difficult.

I'd 100% would not want an arrangement where they don't pay, because receiving payment is a good sign that the person isn't going into a drug spiral or something like that.

Now that I think about it, maybe I wouldn't halve it at the signing, but send him half the money back each time. And tell him that as long as I'm happy it works as a discount. I'd check with legal. But perhaps that prevents a situation where they have the right for that low price in case things go awry and you find a new address and instead end in in a fucked up tenant situation.

A business doing this risks their entire livelihood. There is a huge range of things they can do to fuck with a business beyond writing bad reviews. Pulling payment processors for ‘supporting terrorism’ is not unlikely.
Josh cannot easily own or run a business actively in the USA - he can’t even accept payments on this site through normal payment methods due to them all being barred to him.
Recently a troon phoned the wives of every senior executive of an ISP at 6am to get them to drop Kiwifarms from their services. They threaten families and associates of anyone they target and they are fully shielded from consequences.
Its pretty obvious that the current agent got contacted with enough threats to make an excuse to step down as soon as they had an excuse.
