1099 employee who bills per hour of work. Even if you pay 20 an hour to offset taxes, its all self employment you just cut the check. And 4 hours a week at 20 an hour is a lot less than minimum x 40 nevermind w2 employment wages.

Salary arrangements that aren't for full time work and wouldn't meet minimum x 40 are also legal in many states. A lawyer will know best given a particular state set of laws but housing for 10 hrs a week work or something is quite possibly legal.

Now obviously this suffers the flaws of the idea that have been gone around a lot so far in the thread. This isn't a full living wage. But its not a full time gig either. Ideally someone retired or on disability but sane could do this for limited income and not fuck up a tugboat. Getting the government to cancel a tugboat over 1A issues would be almost impossible as well.

I'm also going to throw out there that rural conservative America is probably a wise bet. Not to pl but I plan to bail the cities and get there. They really can be lovely and welcoming people as long as you *don't fuck with their town or their shit or their way of life*. Antifa and troons may travel but its one thing to hop highways to major cities and suburbs. South Dakota is dirt cheap and the homes look livable. It's also one of the best states for incorporating in. It's also a great state for guns.

If this is true, why not keep renting different spaces until you eventually find one that doesn't evict you, kind of like what you do with your network services now? I don't think you should skip right to requiring the space has to be owned until you have exhausted all possible rental options.
