I remember that era of YouTube/the Internet where a small but vocal group of Puritans did not consider playing games as a viable option for content, coming up with those weird copyright justifications as displayed by the guy in that image. Essentially a kind of attitude that considered monetization as inherently evil and only passable if the content you monetize was 100% made by yourself.
In a way, the increasing monetization and professionalization of YouTube content robbed it of some of its creativity and passion, but in retrospect it's insane to see just how opposed some people were to earning money with internet uploads.
I really hope someone preserved the entire 7/20/2026 stream that started this jump in discussion, but otherwise I think everything that needed to be said Oneyplays-wise has already been said and I probably won't post any more stream recordings. The "7/20" stream that was uploaded on Youtube by Walt the Jr was actually from 7/19 and bled into the 20th. He actually spoke more about similar stuff relating to GG/OP on the 17th going into the 18th (which no one seems to have archived), since that's around the time Julian's old comic started getting circulated again. I typically really enjoy the game streams, and there's a time zone mismatch for me, so I have both the 7/17 and the 7/19 streams in their entirety. They are both 16+ hours long, and total OVER 36 GBs, even AFTER compression and downscaling to 720p. I have yet to verify whether Walt the Jr's claim that the jump cuts in his upload are due to his capture messing up. I would have to check mine to see if there are similar issues, but what I can verify is that DD also spoke more about it earlier than when Walt's video starts.
But honestly, whatever you feel in terms of the things Ding Dong is complaining about/how he goes about it, the idea that they waited until this moment to spill all the beans on the OneyPlays stuff just to stir shit up and distract from Chris' projects is just incorrect if you follow their streams often. The lets play stuff comes up from time to time, it's usually about their broader experience doing it (not just Arin or Chris), usually prompted by people in the chat; DD doesn't typically talk about this stuff unprompted. DD was more specific about OneyPlays recently BECAUSE of J's comic getting recirculated. He was just trying to explain to people asking why he wouldn't go back to OneyPlays. Personally, I find it pretty annoying how verbose he is and how vague he can be, but I don't think that's him specifically trying to start shit or attack Chris specifically. It's just his personality. He's from Chicago; His talking streams are like a never ending Midwestern goodbye, and it's something he needs to work on because it seems to anger everyone and it obviously gets him in trouble. Hopefully since he's patched things up with Chris that it's something he can improve on going forward.
Yeah, if you want to talk about legitimate parental trauma, Cory has boatloads of that. He's talked very openly about it in a "Haha, isn't it funny this fucked up thing happened to me when I was growing up?" so he has much, much more reason to cry PTSD, yet he moves on with his life and has fun. I just can't stress enough how obvious it is that DingDong and Julian have lost all sense of humor.

I was open to their first fallout with GameGrumps because it was novel and I wasn't familiar with any of the players. Here it's the same story again, they cannot get along with anyone. It's so repetitious and yet I'm fascinated to listen to this slow motion car crash.
