The euphoric atheism and edgy progressivism of Sleepycabin is probably one of its worst-aged aside from having Shadman on as a frequent guest. I can't help but cringeee when start going off on Christanity using the most basic bitch arguments while getting the most basic facts wrong or spouting off Bernie-era leftist remarks.

Any discussion politics on that show was bad and its quite telling that Oneyplays dropped those things entirely from its inception.

They're absolutely a time capsule and despite that the show will always have a place in my heart. I do tend to skip the fedora tipping segments on rewatches though.

Oh, no doubt. I find it quaint today, like all politics dated 2000-2020.

My favorite moment is when Jeff calls Christians soulless husks for believing morality has to come from somewhere and that they're all dangerous because their morals are the only thing stopping from doing terrible things. Then he ends it by saying morality is innate in people because everyone knows that killing is bad (which is why no one ever murdered each other until Christianity existed right).

Mick is weird. I flip flopped on him quite a bit when he first showed up on the cast, and still do really. Felt kinda try hard, like he showed up to the party late and was trying to catch up. Which isn't really true or fair to the guy. Sleepycabin was his thing and it wouldn't have gotten off the ground or lasted as long as it did without him. He's also the one who cared the most about it. Obviously. Nigger got their logo inked on his body.
But I think he had a little too much Stamper in him. His vices and insecurities got in the way of things after the fact and held him back from where he could and should be. Dude had a drinking problem and clearly a bit of imposter syndrome over his relative success. There's only so many times a dude can drunkly slur out how he's not a real voice actor or a real animator or he's not really that talented before you think "wat a sec". Obviously he does well enough for himself so it's whatever ultimately.
But I don't hate Mick like a lot of folk do, apparently. And I actually like him quite a bit on the couch, since he can play and talk.

He's also way too much of a bleeding heart for Shadman, he kept him in his home up until the nail spike incident.

Last night I hopped into the WanWan stream and Julian did a whole thing about "what can we say to scare conservatives into leaving the stream" and the chat ate it up.
Guys... *wipes sweat from brow* I think it's a good thing the DD&J era ended if this is how they ended up. I don't really care about their political leanings but it's so childish and embarrassing to engage in these middle schooler behaviors.

Also, idk if it's a recent thing in SuperMega but there's so many like CURRENT political "jokes" (snide remarks generally) about billionaires and cost of living and shit in LPs post-Don controversy. It's just not funny.

Supermega did an entire episode for BLM in the wake of George Floyd's overdose murder. I thought it was a joke at first, then realized it wasn't and then never watched them again.

I guess it was there all along, but I will say there's certainly a distinct move in the last ~year to make complaints in LPs dressed as jokes, whereas before most political jokes were satirical and focused on Bush or Clinton Era.
That's it I think, it went from jokes (that sometimes didn't work) to now just complaining. Matt especially can't help himself, it sucks the fun out of any moment.

I think the only reason these guys were ever big in the first place was because they were attached to Markiplier, and then later Game Grumps. Early on they were mildly amusing, but once their schtick became "We're stoners, laugh" I quit watching them. Also Matt Watson was the worst part of the miniature Hitler debate to tie this back into Oneyplays.

DD&J era (and really, Supermega, Arin, and other adjacent) would have taken the piss, called their modern selves faggots and told them to stop taking the internet so seriously.

I'm disappointed in Julian's case specifically, since he appeared to be the more level headed and reasonable of the two. That, and I'm sympathetic towards the both of them with the DreamDaddy thing and their personal reasons for leaving OneyPlays. But again, petty BS is exhausting, and it makes me question why I'm sympathetic anymore. Tranny chasers like Corey or smooth brains like Adam are unironically more mature and respectable to me simply because they're genuine. You can always picture them with smiles on their faces as they have a gay ol time.
