Mick was always my least favorite member of Sleepycabin and I would skip most episodes that had him if there wasn't enough of the members I like to balance it out.

When did y'all (you all) start watching Oneyplays?

I started watching back in late 2017-early 2018 with the Crash Bandicoot 2 playthrough. I didn't like Zach, Tomar, Lyle (though I still don't like him), and the others until I gave them a go sometime in 2020 it must have been. They're still one of the only channels that have stayed (relatively) consistent after nearly a decade without becoming too corporate or trying to appeal to a niche group of the mentally ill

I've also found that if you didn't start out with them, you probably won't enjoy the prime DD and Julian era stuff, but it's solid gold as far as I'm concerned.
I think the best of Crash 2 vid showed up in my YT recommended or an animation (maybe the Eggs for Bart one). I knew of Chris's NG animations for a few years, but I think in the beginning of being a fan, I watched him solely as a Grumps substitute, but then became my main group let's play channel

i'm still praying they play any of the mario and luigi hentai games man
*monkey's paw curls in*
Chris cannot maintain attention for more than 2 dialogue boxes because Tomar insists on reading every piece of dialogue. During gameplay they do not equip anything they find or use any items. They find a strangely-shaped green character that Cory has drawn porn of. The episode ends at the thirty-minute mark with no other videos on the way.

Mick is weird. I flip flopped on him quite a bit when he first showed up on the cast, and still do really. Felt kinda try hard, like he showed up to the party late and was trying to catch up. Which isn't really true or fair to the guy. Sleepycabin was his thing and it wouldn't have gotten off the ground or lasted as long as it did without him. He's also the one who cared the most about it. Obviously. Nigger got their logo inked on his body.
But I think he had a little too much Stamper in him. His vices and insecurities got in the way of things after the fact and held him back from where he could and should be. Dude had a drinking problem and clearly a bit of imposter syndrome over his relative success. There's only so many times a dude can drunkly slur out how he's not a real voice actor or a real animator or he's not really that talented before you think "wat a sec". Obviously he does well enough for himself so it's whatever ultimately.
But I don't hate Mick like a lot of folk do, apparently. And I actually like him quite a bit on the couch, since he can play and talk.

"Never watch the Oney crew play a game you love and are even marginally good at!"
This is such good advice in general, the amount of videos I've seen of let's players saying "yeah I know everything about this game" yet still don't know how basic things work in something like Super Metroid (the game I love and actually know well) taught me that. But that confidence is infectious for viewers who don't know anything about the game so everyone does it.

Honestly I think the whole powermove situation is on the level of petty schoolyard drama. Kinda weird and pathetic, but not enough to sully my opinion on the guy.
Him doing a power move alone and just saying "out of my way, peon" would imply he's an asshole. Him planning ahead to bribe his way into a power move being acceptable implies he's a calculating asshole.
