James Wood really loves Hades. So much in fact, he made Disney sign some fucked up contract that makes it so only he can voice him. You just know the higher ups at Disney seeth at this, considering James Woods hot political takes.
its funny, the Nips who make the game love him, and he loves the character, its only Disney that has a problem lol

I really wish Kh1 and 2 would let you take world specific party members with you for the rest of the journey. Ive always wanted a Tarzan Jack team
"Hey Ariel, how are you able to swim in mid-air?"

Unless they just make her flop around all over the place like they did in the NES game. Or I guess they could give her the power to swap as a human when she's away from water.

That was assuredly Disney's deal. They're weirdly specific on which characters can crossover with what series. Villains are clearly a lot more flexible, Disney has them teaming up in shit all the time.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice that there was a KH thread here. Looks like I have another one to add to the watchlist.

Seconding this, I've heard that it's born from Disney's internal rules regarding crossovers but as far as an actual confirmation is concerned it basically boils down to the usual incidental cameos of past film characters and characters from the Mickey & Friends IP. Said rules also prevent DTVA properties from truly crossing over into KH and that's probably for the best.
I want to go to John Carter world.
Take it up with the Burroughs estate and Disney's financial department, you're basically dealing with the same trademark problems that all-but-killed Disney's Tarzan and the box office bomb problem makes Disney less likely to allow KH to use it.

Agreed, would love to have a full on RPG Disney party that sticks with you until the end. Probably too much to ask to have characters from different franchises interacting with each other, but that'd be sick.

This is why i like bringing Beast to the secret Xemnas fight in KH1 and Peter Pan to the Phantom battle, feels like you're actually pulling them out of their "cage" for a moment.

I hope we get to fight the old masters, ive always been curious of how they would fight.
I'm pretty sure the mobile games between 3 and 4 are setting up that a good chunk of the antagonists are keyblade wielders. There actually might be a keyblade gang war going on because it was noticeable that several characters in the trailer including Sora had different symbols on their buttons. (This is Also a TWEWY thing, most of the characters are technically dead and neku's on a city ad, so make make of it what you will)

You guys think KH would benefit more by having less or no Disney characters?
Honestly I think it could still work really well. You still need worlds and exploration, but Disney has gotten a lot more stagnant and less engaging as the franchise went on due to restrictions. 1-2 were awesome because there was a large degree of flexibility allowed. Once we got into 3 shit got really complicated and bad because there was a lot of back and forth.

Toy story and big hero 6 needed everything approved by the creators before it could be finalized. That REALLY slowed things down by years. There's just so much red tape I think it could be more interesting to have sora in places with greater flexibility. Something like other game franchises in the square library perhaps.

Honestly Sora and the gang have a strong enough dynamic on their own for me to legit be hyped for a KH OG only run.

Disney owns the copyright to the KH IP in its entirety (excluding the FF characters), you're not getting the IP without 'em.

And remember when Nick and Cartoon Network tried to make their own crossovers?

Toy Story, Big Hero 6, and Monsters Inc. (Pirates gets an honorable mention) had some of the better sub-plots and that’s in large part due to the creators of those films understanding what made KH a good crossover IP, Kingdom of Corona gets demerited due to it playing too close to the film and Arendelle gets serious demerits due to it not having much of a plot at all.
