If I was a mayor, I would want reasonable tax rates for businesses and corporations to generate a stable economy. If those businesses leave, it affects other businesses. I’m sure many companies based in NYC are already doing paperwork to move their corporation to Delaware. He’s going to attempt to tax NYC businesses, they are going to tell him to fuck off (because they have capital leverage and can just leave). He will then import a horde of jeets and Muslims and raise the tax rates for the citizens, simultaneously created a bigger economic burden and exponentially increase the cost of living. When he tries to impose rent freezes, he will be sued by the banks and lose, causing New York to lose even more money. NYC will be exactly like San Francisco only worse due to a much denser population. Luckily, we will have all of the early celebration tweets and articles and tik toks to mock these retards when they can’t figure out why their lives are hell and are begging to get out of New York. Flyover states and the Midwest will benefit when money flows their way after Mamdani rapes NYC into desolation.

Whether Adams was as corrupt as other mayors or worse is debatable (still no idea what happened to that $800 million Deblasio had earmarked for mental health programs and which simply vanished into the ether), but he was much dumber and more obvious about it. High level members of his administration were getting indicted and resigning on the regular. He may not have hit the benchmark of Bob Menendez, who was caught with literal sacks of cash and gold bars sewn into his clothing, but he was in that ballpark.

He was the same breed of corrupt machine politician just dumber. And honestly a lot of previous mayors were just as blatant they just were protected by the local machine, national and state parties. Adams left the plantation so he lost that protection. it was not a national issue untill he went against the party line.
