Pooners generally have testosterone's curse: Testosterone is much much MUCH more potent than estrogen, taking testosterone massively irreversibly changes your body to the point where 99% of pooners can pass pretty reasonably after a years. The average troon can detrans and look normal, the average pooner never will. Hence the curse. Better high, worse crash.

Ellen is for better of worse part of that 1% of women that are so feminine no ammount of testosterone will ever make her look like a man. The fact that she's a millionare with access to top tier doctors and medicine and after so many years she still looks like that is a testament to how much she crapped out with genetics, she doesn't get the high and she's already in the crash state without even detransnitioning.

Last year i was arguing with a lesbian about how telling nasa to build a lense so you can shoot with natural candle light isnt the same as using only imax cameras and equipment. Nolan has never directed something as beatiful as barry lyndon and never will because he has a profound lack of art direction on all his films.

Here is something the women writing these modern movies will never understand.

After ten years of fighting a war and watching your buddies die, no man is going to be sorry for doing what he had to in order to win and stop his men from dying, and he is not going to get PTSD from winning.

Look at Sargent York for a much better understanding of this subject. York was a complete pacifist, but when his men started dying he didn't freeze up, he shot up a bunch of Germans with zero regretts to stop them from killing his men. That is what real war is like, and since women are never deployed to active combat zones they will never understand this and shouldn't write about war.

Modern movies don't understand war or PTSD and shouldn't touch either subject.

I finally saw it last night. In an empty theater, after paying for a ticket to minions and monsters the fam went to see that. (there’s no management in my regal, you can go hog wild)

matt damon grieving on a beach, anne hathaway crying, grey generic action scene where Christopher nolan supreme atheist explains everything like it’s a lore dump, more matt damon therapy session, when you finally get to something like the cyclops or the circe scene you’re like ok, seen it before in horror movies and I’m like ok… do I want to see the next scene? Matt being emo in hoplite armor. “Yeah I’m done here.”

“We’re the greeks” almost sounds like “where’s the beef?”

I’ve watched some terrible B movies this was the first one that I haven’t finished.

Yes, he choose that foundation but unless you can prove Emily Wilson is not a woman he chose to make it based on a female perspective and thus it was from a perspective that will never understand war.

I didn't say Nolan or every girly man like him understand war, just that women can never understand it and ever since war movies have been made with their input or to appeal to women, the movies have stopped understanding war.

This movie is built around how women see war and thus it doesn't understand war, Nolan adapting the female perspective book doesn't change that it is the female perspective.
