Modern cinema loves ptsd as a plot device (as long as it's not happening when killing the correct targets) even if anyone involves with the film hasn't has never been near a battlefield, and would sooner believe a woman having ptsd for inconvenient social situation, than a soldier who served in the front line having one.I'm sure the Achaeans regretted Troy's destruction while they were counting their loot/balls deep in their Trojan slaves. Is this supposed to be some belated GWOT reference?
It's especially ridiculous when it's ptsd from slaughtering people in a siege. Even if we disregard it was a matter of fact that losing a siege was very bad for the defenders, soldiers don't have any sympathy left after a siege, especially one taking years. It's infinitely more likely to get one from seeing you friends slaughtered over months.
