Nolan's The Odyssey - Potentially could be epic or an epic flop.

My god this movie can't hold a plot point for shit it's GO GO GO GO GO GO GO for all the tiktok addicted kiddies whose brains have been rotted by shortform content.
The Hollywood Botox Face phenomena is real, Anne Hathaway looks uncanny as fuck when tears start leaking from her eyes but her face doesn't move a fucking inch

Nolan must be comfortably into the 'more misses than hits' territory by now.

*esp. if we classify films as Hit / Miss / or Just Mid.

...Also Jason and the Argonauts did not forget about the Gods scheming and playing favorites.

This is entirely incompatible with my mildly obsessive approach to movies.
I would recommend edibles then, like seriously IMAX is a great way to enjoy movies in the perspective it fills your entire field of vision and you can just look around into the world. Your next best bet would be diggerman as it is filmed on Vistavision and should get an IMAX release. If it does not get a film print, and it is purely digital it will be best seen at the Manchester Printworks [in the UK]. But yeah, it is your choice and how you see movies. There are other options and I have debated walking to a standard 70mm showing as it'd make a nice daywalk.

Edibles and digger will surely fuck you up.

Wait for whoever sat through this shit because they had the time or whatever.

Do they show Argos? Odysseus’s dog that basically loyally stands guard (or tries to) and basically dies with Odysseus having to deny the dog the chance of reuniting with his master? It is the archetypal “dog waiting for his master for years” and a metaphor for how shit Ithaca has become.

If it doesn’t have the dog, which basically makes you cheer for Odysseus killing the suitors and maids, it’s a shit movie.

Argos was my favorite part of the story.

I guarantee this movie will win at least a few awards. It literally has to. It's waving a giant diversity flag while shouting "Look at me!".
So from seeing these clips, it appears the best adaptation of The Odyssey is still that episode of Wishbone I saw when I was 8.

It looks kind of hokey to me. Ellen Page's retard run isn't helping. I know she's only in the film a short time. But this is a serious story and she's making it look like an SNL sketch. It's probably going to be a decent looking film held back by poor casting choices and a pooner running like a sped.

Argos is a very humanizing moment. Even if you take the perspective of Odysseus as a scoundrel. It’s a moment where he laments what he can’t do and is a moment of powerlessness.

It’s kinda like that quote where Napoleon remarks how hypocritical that he empathizes with a dog that is wailing at his dead master. Napoleon has probably killed thousands of men via orders, but he really only acknowledged it because some animal was so intensely loyal. The guy had friends and family, but it took a a dog howling mournfully and snapping at his masters killers for Napoleon to kinda despise the means of his ambitions for a second.

Argos is waiting for Odysseus. He waits neglected, but he waits faithfully. His faith can’t be rewarded. It’s a gut punch and it does humanize Odysseus immensely. You can call it cliche, but it literally is one of the first recorded stories to do this.

This is hilarious! Oh, so tough soldiers trapped by tiny trees and then some big dude in ridiculous “armor” comes up and casually pokes at them. Poke, poke. I can’t believe this garbage has been taken seriously by so many. It’s nothing but a farce.

I genuinely think this movie has better special effects than this shit. I mean, just look at this

Found some funny shit on /tv/ and /wsg/, maybe this film can have some value if it serves as meme fodder.

Page is running like she's carrying too much and trying not to fall over. She's balancing with her hips, as women are want to do. Which makes sense since she is a woman. Like isn't she supposed to be an actor? Is it too much to ask she acts like a man for a short run. Also she looks and sounds like an aging lesbian in the underworld scene.

And Troy is proving itself to been placed in the right hands. In Nolan's hands, it'd probably be like Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, the grey, dreary version of Sherwood Forest.

Figured he buggered the sound. Again. I absolutely despise how people call him a great technical director when all his audio mixing is consistently garbage. ADR exists to clean up on-set audio, retards.
Anyone who still say he knows how to handle sounds need to be reminded of the Dark Knight Rises "WHERE'S THE TRIGGER?!" moment

MovieBob gets it: Nolan's Odyessy is meant to be a deconstruction!!!
