I am not even gonna feel bad for the people involved with this because just watched a video of Matt Smith laughing at Morbius memes and he didn't mind much.

The trailer is getting a lot of views still, especially compared to the recent long-running franchise installments like Grogu and Supergirl. I predict it will "reach a billion".
Being a "banned" work especially for an overtly political product will drive views yes.bad publicity worked out great for citizen vigilante

Meanwhile Odyssey needs normie appeal to be financially sucessful (it has the right politics and will be critically sucessful no matter what). Its an R rated movie with the only appeal being "movie by Christopher Nolan" and his movies have worked via word of mouth and have had good legs.
The movie is currently tracking with a 100 million dollar opening weekend in America. No idea internationally. It has a clean second weekend. Its going to hit a brick wall when Spiderman comes out the weekend after. This is also the most expensive R rated movie ever made at 250 million in just production costs.
This is the part I doubt this time. Blackness aside, Lupita N'yongo isn't hot enough to play Helen of Troy. To have good word of mouth basically requires NPCs to be able to persuade everyone else that she's the most beautiful woman they've ever seen, rap is totally cool and not distracting, Elliot Page to be shoved into the background and not do anything, and the dialogue actually carry gravitas, which I'm not getting out of "LETS GO!!!!!!" It ain't no "If you live long enough, you become the villain."and his movies have worked via word of mouth

Someone should make a comic of Christopher Nolan saying "I don't get why the Trojans fell for what looks like an act of benevolence, but is clearly done to invade if looked objectively" as a horse shaped raft full of Niggers and Muslims washes on the recording location.Trailer has lots of new awkward 'daddy' dialog, seems they will be saying daddy back-and-forth for 60% of all dialog in the film.
And yes, Elliott Rodger is here, finally some incel representation in media:

The biggest red flag is probably Christopher Nolans inability to conceptualize the idea that the Trojans would have seen the horse as a gift/offering after a long war and instead had to have it be stuck in the mud, Just overthinking something to the point it becomes retarded, true mid-wit behavior. It's 'beware of Greeks bearing gifts' not beware of Greeks leaving something behind accidentally that you then steal.
Normalizing and promoting a lifestyle that makes you mutilate your body and randomly hack off bodyparts and sow bodyparts is hurting others.Yeah, that is why I don't judge most of these people too harshly unless they are hurting others,
These big-budget movies have to be a money-laundering scheme. There is just no way to justify this mindset it's actually normal to break even at 700 mil.it needs around $700 million to break even
She can still be Helen of Detroit.Lupita N'yongo isn't hot enough to play Helen of Troy.

Now nostalgic for the depthy dialog and mythic accuracy of 300.
One Battle After Another feels very similar to this movie in audience its designed for. I think the film will get a solid first 2 weeks and maybe gets its 100 million domestic opening. I also think it will be number 1 its second weekend and get at least 50 million that weekend. For it to beat that the word of mouth needs to be good. This is the part I doubt this time. Its dead in the water 3rd weekend. Its helped by the fact that it gets Imax and Spider Man doesnt, but.
Rule of thumb is that domestic theatres take half and international only 20 to 30 percent back.
A 100 million dollar opener. But thats only 50 million take home. Its going to live or die on international numbers. Which interesting i cant find.
It’s obvious Tenet broke Nolan’s mind. He has become obsessed with satisfying the Hollywood elite when he used to ignore them. Oppenheimer was a blatant gushfest appeal to Jewish execs.Minions is underperforming and Moana may flop. Those also hurt R movies because mom and dad dont have options the kids want to see.
The audience for this seems to be just Nolan fans is the biggest problem. Women dont seem interested in it. The chuds want it to fail. The trailers for it are fairly uninteresting even ignoring the casting choices. No Inception style action pieces. Its not promising shit you would care about on Imax.
Cherry on top is apparently Nolan has took a "fuck the influencers" and wont let internet critics see it early, only professional critics. They have already started seeing it and we arent hearing gushing leak out. If it was super good they would want more eyes to build buzz and seems like they want a blind as possible opening weekend. Tells me movie may be testing to a mixed audience reaction.
