Nolan's The Odyssey - Potentially could be epic or an epic flop.

I saw Ellen page topless on Twitter today because I guess ever since she trooned out she stopped wearing a shirt like Randy Lahey.

She looks so fucking stupid. She got these comically oversized pec implants so now she looks absolutely ridiculous with giant fake pecs, noodle arms, and tiny shoulders.

Women don't typically troon out for sexual gratification like men do but I absolutely believe she did.

The woke crybullies are going to shit their pants in anger over Asmongold's clip on Nolan's Odyssey.

Of course this nigger is going to call it a grift and make hour long videos on people shitting on a movie he himself won't watch. Looking forward to his "Exposing the Grift" series where he just reveal he's a shill. Same nigger can't understand per capita.

Normies can definitely ignore online controversies, unless they're too big to ignore them:

Lion King '19: $1.657 billion
Maleficient '19: $491.7 million:
Mulan '20: $57 million
Cruella '21: $233.5 million
The Litle Mermaid '23: $569.6 million
Mufasa '24: $723 million
Snow White '25: $205.7 million
Lilo & Stitch: $1.038 billion

Mulan flopped due to Covid and Cruella did so low because it was released on D+ almost simultaneously but was well received. TLM also flopped financially and the critics were mild, but that's because the movie was mediocre to begin with. Also, there was also a controversy due to the actress looking like a real fish.

Snow White was an absolute disaster that made Disney lose more than $100 millions, we all know why.

But both Lion King movies and Lilo and Stitch were also meh, yet they did money because the actors kept their mouths shut and most of the controversies they could have had, nobody really paid attention if there were any. None of these movies is particularly good or bad, but people take their kids to watch them. Parents didn't take their kids to SW, despite it's just a dumb movie for them to be entertained for a couple of hours.

My point is, I wouldn't be completely sure that The Odyssey is gonna be a total success.

I anticipate it will have a couple of pretty decent first couple of weeks, but things will dry up rather quickly after that. Oppenheimer was overrated, but it was a pretty faithful adaptation of "American Prometheus" and gave people a reason to go back and see it at least a couple of times.
Don't forget about Barbieheimer. After the Dark Knight trilogy, box office revenues were decreasing as he kept releasing films until Oppenheimer was released. I want to say that that was sheer luck, but we'll have to see how Odyssey does to be sure.

Don't forget her nipples. They looked so fucked. It looked like they could be countries on a map.

Remember, a "grift" is now when someone doesn't lioke someone's thoughts on things. See Eric July being called a grifter.

It destroys the word "grift".

So Holand is taking Nolan's dick up his ass.
Well this reinforces an existing red flag. If Nolan thinks the Odyssey is, "in large part, the story of Telemachas' coming of age" with layers and complexities "essential to the tale" that's consistent with the modern feminist theme (esp Emily Wilson) of building up the women's roles, esp Penelope (more Telemachus means more Penelope).

One might have hoped that a man with the reputation for authenticity that Nolan has, might have twigged that the core and by far the most significant element of The Odyssey is Odysseus and his journey. The title is a bit of a clue as is the awkward fact that the word "odyssey" has entered general usage for centuries to mean "a long wandering or voyage usually marked by many changes of fortune" (Mirriam-Webster), "a long, exciting journey" (Cambridge Dictionary).

I am really worried about this too. I think those two are going to make the 'Odyssey' into 'The modern Hero's Journey' more about how the souters are the focus, and Odysseus's part might be mostly flashbacks or side cuts off that. The trailers sure are showing this angle that's the journey parts are a side story.

You'd hope that the trailers might be hiding the reality of the movie, but that rarely ever is the case.

The damn story is about Odysseus and fighting the supernatural/natural forces on the way back from an epic war. The rest I'd even cut out of the original mostly except for the loyal dog part. It's ponderous.

Can you imagine if all the focus early about the ridiculous casting isn't the main problem and it's the Wilson derived story/script that's really the issue?

Última edición:
This is the part I doubt this time. Blackness aside, Lupita N'yongo isn't hot enough to play Helen of Troy.
It kind of breaks suspension of disbelief, you find yourself thinking "they went to war over this?"

Comparing how this historic - mythological - beauty was depicted 20 years ago to today, and it's very strange. I know there will be one retard who comes in to let us know they actually cant even tell them apart and that these women look alike apart from skin tone but a someone who can differentiate between two different faces, these women just are not on the same level.

It make the entire backstory (and based on trailers, I'm assuming the opening prologue to this film - unless Nolan tells the story out of order and we end up with Iliad flashbacks in the middle of The Odyssey story - I'm not sure how much of The Iliad/Trojan War stuff is in this film) seem like a joke.

I remember when July was called a grifter for selling his comic book, so now making a product and selling it to the public os a grift?

So does that mean everyone in Hollywood is a grifter since they make products, sell them to the public, and refuse to work for free?

Once you win that Oscar you go full on fag. Why I love Kubrick he only won a special effects Oscar (fuck Hollywood for that shit) and qt never won the "big one" either but his movie catalog shits on nolans. Ad Kubrick is leagues ahead of both

I imagine the Greek actors smelled "woke career ender" and didn't apply.
If true, the government wouldn't have given Nolan money and allowed him to film in their country, so they must've not been told anything or given false promises. The Greek people need to give their government a stern talking to over this since they're already planning on boycotting the film.

Politicians tend to be ignorant about entertainment. They probably saw "Nolan" and "Odyssey" and jumped without reading the fine print.

The Greek people need to give their government a stern talking to over this since they're already planning on boycotting the film.
I assume there is some byer's remorse on behalf of the government.

As for my comment on no Greek actors wanting to audition, I meant good/famous Greek actors. The desperate and the upstarts would apply but not get the roles. I do think that the famous celebs would like to be part of a film about the Odyssey, just not one with woke shit.

Your exames undermine your point.

Movies with pre release controversies underperformed. You demonstrated that.

My personal bet is this movie makes its money back but not much better and wins Oscars. Neither the chuds nor the studio is happy. Nolan "wins" but will have to deal with more realistic budgets in the future.

I still dont know who is excited for this movie other than Nolan fans. Women dont care. Blacks dont care. Browns dont care about a western classic epic. Families wont go because its R. Teenagers cant read much less consume greek mythology. I am not hearing positive tik tok or youtube buzz.

Its also a 3 hour movie which means less showing per day.

This movie needs great word of mouth with an Inception like 2nd weekend hold.
