Nintendo Switch 2 - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.
Sounds like Nintendo Direct next Tuesday. Going by leaks, we are likely to see more of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, Splatoon Raiders, and Duskbloods. New games announced will be Switch Sports 2, OoT Remake, Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition, and another Xenoblade Switch 2 Edition. I also remember hearing rumblings for Yoshi's Wooly World getting ported.
Kind of a soft line up this year. Nothing bad, but nothing spectacular. Switch 2 is a very soft-start console that really needs a big hitter by some point. People are saying Smash for next year, which, by God I wonder what that will look like given Sakurai has been busy - maybe it will be a much more scaled back game more akin to Melee/Brawl.
Got my switch 2 about a year ago. I think I only finished 1 game on it and it was the craptastic Donkey Kong game. Hardy use it like most the new Nintendo systems I have.

Allegedly, Nintendo is planning on coasting on 3rd party this year, so their line up has been warned as being low end. The stuff I posted was leaked a few months back alongside games we now know of like Star Fox (leaked prior to Mario Movie).
Sounds like it will be a light year. I would hope that means 2027 is actually worth something as Nintendo has just been kind of okay for both years of this console. A lot of niche, not much heavy hitter.

So thier current plan is to let third parties get used to the switch 2's hardware the first few years before they start making thier own games proper?, that's... kinda like what the other big three have been doing to far worse results

Sounds more so like Nintendo is struggling to get games out the door in a timely manner. The Switch 2 lineup has mainly been games that have been a near decade in the making between Mario Kart and DK.
Started reading further for more leaks, this year is Nintendo relying heavily on remakes and 3rd parties to ease development. Star Fox is just the first, Ocarina of Time and Super Metroid are also supposed to be coming - with Super Metroid having a pixel art style I guess. This leaves Splatoon Raiders and Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave as potentially the last original titles this year based on the validity of Switch Sports 2. Duskborn may be this year, but the lack of info is concerning as to whether it will make it.
As for the next years, it sounds like this year is a stop gap to build up future releases. Wario Land, Metroid 6, Star Fox Adventures 2, Mario Kart World DLC, and a 3D Mario are all supposed to come next year. Wario Land being the biggest surprise of that grouping assuming all is real.
Personally, it makes sense, no questioning for either Mario titles or Metroid, Star Fox is getting rebooted so another coming makes sense and they even used Adventure’s rerelease to push the remake, then for Wario the last WarioWare game began referencing Land, so not entirely out of the realm of possibilities.
Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition is another one floated around alongside Xenoblade 2, if possible based on what @Soggy Floppa said. Wooly World was speculated due to the Mario presentation highlighting Yoshi with it - and it running differently.
Nothing they've done so far has had me going "oh I absolutely MUST have a Switch 2" as of yet. And looking at the rumored lineup, that won't change tomorrow. Prove me wrong, Nintendo
Nah. I'm tired of open world shit. Give me Super Mario 64 2. A set of tight semi-linear levels with a bunch of objectives to complete in it. But because we live in the awful homosexual timeline, it will most likely be Odyssey 2 (if it happens at all)

I doubt there'll be an Odyssey 2 when Odyssey 2 already exists in the form of DK Bonanza. My bet is that the Treehouse is gonna be mostly the Splatoon / Star Fox games being demoed and that the direct is mostly gonna be trailers for that and a bunch of far away stuff that no one really cares about. Or remakes.

You're not excited to pay a second internet fee just to >rent< games you could have been emulating for decades!? How fucking dare you man... Nintendo busts its ass to give you make you pay for 30 year old games! This billion dollar multi-national corporation breaks its back to provide you with only the most mid of content every couple of months, how dare you not consume their slop. You should spend less time thinking and more time opening up your wallet young man. Next you'll tell me you have higher standards than playing games with sub-standard graphics and 30FPS! Don't you know how hard Nintendo has been working to put black people in all their games? You love Black People don't you? Doesn't that make you want to worship them!?
