Lance is great, he just takes a lot of crap roles for some reason. I fucking love him in Paradise P.D.
He's good he's just not a good Wesker. The weird things is if they wanted a nerdy, conflicted, sympathetic villain why didn't they make him William Birkin instead? It would have fit the role a lot better than Wesker does.

That would require the show runners to be familiar with the games.

Man I'm 30 minutes into the first episode and it's a teen drama / young adult show. Why -- how does that make any sense from a marketing perspective?
I heard it was supposedly an unrelated young adult drama/romance before being hastily retooled as a Resident Evil show which is why it's oddly set in a post apocalyptic environment when none of the games are.

I've seen the first 2 episodes so far and -to me- it comes off as the opposite. The whole post-apoc zombie A plot comes off as a script for an unrelated show that got turned into this... Abomination.

Perhaps the showrunners had two unrelated scripts -one for a teen drama and one for a generic post-apoc zombie show- and smushed them together?

I see we’re in the bargaining stage now….

I don't play the games but from what I know, how does that even work since Dimitrescu is pretty much disconnected from the Umbrella Corp stuff I know Miranda is but the showrunner probably just wants to introduce her, like this feels like it's trying to go after fans who mostly liked her for sex appeal which I doubt the show will do.

You’re expecting this show to respect the source material?

They'd probably assign Miranda's history with Spencer to Dimitrescu or something.

Whelp, I finally got through it. Hate watched it as you would. It's truly an amazing sight. A horribly imperfect object. It makes all previous Resident Evil adaptations look like masterpieces. The Mila Jovovich movies are Citizen Kane or whatever prestigious bullshit when compared to this. It's worse than anything you can imagine and has next to nothing to do with RE. It has even less to do with it than the movies. About the only things it has in common with RE is the name, there's Lickers in one episode, zombie dogs in another, there's zombies, a character referencing Code Veronica, a guy with a chainsaw with a bag over his head ala RE 4, the Umbrella logo, and there's a black dude named Wesker who cloned himself for no reason.

And worst yet? It keeps cutting back and forth between this A and B plot where the B plot is this CW-like abomination where nothing really happens. Every time you think you might get some decent zombie action and gore it cuts back to this meaningless B plot showing our main characters as teenagers and doing nothing with Black Wesker and his clones.

You can't even enjoy it out of pure mindlessness because the action keeps getting interrupted by worthless filler. Even when you do see some action it's undercut by how low budget and quippy the whole thing is. The zombie makeup is super basic and is worse then some of the most low budget zombie flicks I've seen. I honest to god think Redneck Zombies had better zombie makeup than this. Not to mention absolutely retarded logic that is really just plot convenience to allow bullshit to happen in the first place.

We could have gotten a Resident Evil movie written and directed by George Romero! But no, we got this bullshit instead. Fuck you Netflix. Fuck you Capcom. Fuck you Constantin films. Fuck you Paul W. S. Anderson.

So while the site was down, this happened:

I thought it was absolutely funny how the creator wanted the show to have more seasons than Supernatural a show he worked on.

Like it wasn't even just right wingers who hated the show even Phelus who is no right winger thought it was trash.

Whatever you were doing, Lance, sure as hell wasn't Resident Evil.
I've played the first 2 games as a kid. I love the shit out of 4. I've even seen the first movie in the theater (and that was enough). So I'm not a super fan but I am old school about it. I even gave the show the benefit on weighing it on a scale of every single zombie media I've seen out of fairness and it really is one of the worst I've ever seen. It gives some of the absolute worst Eyetalian shit like Zombie 3 and 4, Nightmare City, Hell of the Living Dead, and Burial Ground a run for their money. Those movies I mentioned are bad but they're amusingly bad, have genuinely good makeup and gore effects, have some interesting ideas in at least 1-2 cases, and above all they're about 90 minutes and entertaining.

I said it before but you can't even enjoy it out of pure mindlessness because the action keeps getting interrupted by this worthless B plot where nothing really happens. It's like they had scripts for two different kind of shows and smashed them together as terribly as they could. If it weren't for the B plot it would have approached the same level of crap as those Sci Fi channel zombie shows aping the success of Walking Dead (Z Nation or the Day of the Dead show) which really isn't saying much.
