Maybe SWORD keeps him out of jail and everything, but the world believes what they want to believe. It’d be rather fitting.

It IS a teaser trailer. I’m assuming the official one will give more details.
That could make sense

EDIT: As for the leak, based on the trailer it looks more like the other Spider-Man villains came as a result of the spell going wrong

Spell goes wrong (the leak even specifies that it goes wrong ebcause Peter tries to make MJ and May exceptions to the memory wipe), releases the Sinister Six on New York, Peter and Strange imprison them, only for Goblin to then trick Peter into releasing them.

I hope if that is true, then there is a clear reason why Peter buys into Goblin's shit, then blindly trusting another supervillain after Mysterio tricked and lied to him.

This is lining up completely with one of the leaks that summarized the first act

Which means the 'Peter is seen as a murderer' plot gets cleared up pretty quickly, the kick off to the second act will be Peter getting tricked into releasing the Sinister Six and this movie is taking heavy influence from One More Day.
People are saying they can see Charlie Cox in the trailer so this makes sense.

Is it really Tom Holland that sucks or the writing around him that sucks? Because MCU Spidey really isn't like Spiderman except in the most superficial ways.
the writing, spiderman was only in high school for the first 4 of his 60 year history or 1% of the number of comics hes in, but, he's in it for basically his entire run in the films, outside of the raimi trilogy, where he spends less than an hour in the high school arc, instead most of the films is him doing the stuff we all know and love from the cartoons and games. juggling relationships, jobs, and his secret identity. plus despite 20+ years the raimi trilogy is a lot more relatable than high school boy. i bet stark left him billions, or at least a full ride to college.

I'm sure Aunt May got a ride too. Why else be nice to the kid?

Edit : Also am I the only one who gets annoyed by the fact that the MCU ignores that Earth had FIRST CONTACT WITH ALIENS? You know..proof that we are not alone in the universe and the existence of a Benevolent Multi-Planetary Federation?
ummmm did you forget Avengers 1? the first massive extraterrestial contact happened like 10+ years ago at this point in the MCU

Can't pretend that I'm not excited to see the Raimi characters again. I wish they would just pretend the Webb films didn't exist. I don't want to see Jamie Fox's shitty Electro next to Molina's Doc Ock and Dafoe's beautifully batshit Goblin.
I honestly kind neat that they got both actors and characters form both Raimi and Webb's films.
This "teaser" really makes the plot sound retarded, I hope that's not the case in the final product, but I wouldnt be surprised since Phase 4 has been nothing but a mess so far.

I hope the leaks are true and that the movie will also act as a sequel of sorts to the Raimi trilogy showing what happened to everyone in that universe, I just wanna see my boy Tobey sucessful and happy :(
I just want see Toby on film again. I haven't seen him in a movie in years. Sucks too because I grew up with him being spider man.

Are Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard going to be in this?
Doubt it, Emma Stone would add too much to the budget for what would be a very small role and in a movie already packed full of characters.

Bryce Dallas Howard, pretty sure would have been filming Jurassic World 3 during this.

Maybe a small cameo at most for both, but don't expect anything more than that,

My biggest, biggest concern is that Strange will have more of a role in the movie than he should. He can wipe the population's mind of Peter's identity, that's fine, he did that in the comics too, but if that whole "mentor" thing is true, man, I don't think I'd be on board with it, like at all. Despite heavy influence from Iron Man, the Spider-Man standalone movies were about him primarily, with other characters from outside his sphere having a relatively minor role overall. I'm hoping that the sanctum scene and the few illusion scenes are the only scenes that actually feature Strange in a large capacity.

I mean shit, it's been 17 years since I got to see Alfred Molina as Doc Ock for the first time, and even longer since I got to see Dafoe as Goblin for the first time. I don't want Strange's presence to take away from that.

Goblin and Doc are variants I'm pretty sure. Would tie into Loki and not completely retcon the endings of the Raimi films, win-win really.
Maybe. Molina said though that the movie will pick up Octavius' story from "that moment" in the river. So really, who knows what will happen.

I'd initially hoped that Molina and Foxx, when their involvement was announced, would be playing alternate versions of the same role, much like how Simmons is playing the MCU version of Jameson, and how that version isn't connected at all to the Raimi version. Mostly because I'm sick of Spider-Verse stories, though I guess nostalgia is kinda taking over, so seeing Molina as not only the same role but the same version of the character is gonna make me feel some kinda way.

In the latest What If episode, we have a rather bi-polar tonal problem. Like, we have Coulson and Fury mourning the death of Hawkeye and the Avengers initiative, only to immediately stop so Coulson can sniff Thor's corpse and get giddy at how the 'gorgeous man' smells. What the fuck!? I know Coulson is a fan boy, but I don't remember him being this god damn creepy.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a brief Emma Stone Spider-gwen.

Hell, is rather have that than Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man.
