I had the realization a week ago that there are no MCU memes, those that popped up either died shortly after or were kept alive artificially and died after that support moved to the next film.
The only memes for the MCU that seemed to have some longevity were Hulk beating up Loki, Civil War memes about disagreements causing one (probably lost due to the millions of other memes used to shill opinions), and the Infinity War/Endgame memes (the ones that still have longevity were the “most ambitious crossover” meme and the snap)

Probably. We'll likely see it happen in real time. Heard the main actor had a breakdown on twitter or something from /co/
Jesus, did a quick google on it, Disney CEO Bob Chapek talked about the current situation regarding theatrical releases and streaming:

"On 'Shang-Chi,' we think it's actually going to be an interesting experiment for us because it's got only a 45-day window for us," Chapek said. "So the prospect of being able to take a Marvel title to the service after going theatrical for 45 days will be yet another data point to inform our actions going forward on our titles."

And the lead actor punk spun it into an asian heritage thing:
"We are not an experiment."
"We are the underdog; the underestimated. We are the ceiling-breakers," the actor wrote in response on Saturday. "We are the celebration of culture and joy that will persevere after an embattled year. We are the surprise. I’m fired the (expletive) up to make history on September 3rd; JOIN US."

If anything, lack of interest in the character here in the States and China will hurt Shang-Chi's box office. Unless people are truly desperate to watch a MCU post-credit scene on the big screen, I don't see it being a huge hit.

And the lead actor punk spun it into an asian heritage thing:
I love how they forget about the amazing films from China and Hong Kong. Guess they don't like subtitles or forgot about their heritage when it comes to their language. The only reason I'm downloading watching the movie is because of Tony Leung and Michelle Yeoh.

Jesus Christ, ITS A SUPERHERO MOVIE. Calm the fuck down, actor guy. You’re not gonna top Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan/Jet Li/ect.

Not sure much has been said about the director Destin Daniel Cretton. Like most Marvel directors now, he has only done small movies, the highest budget being $25 million, all drama with no action or as far I can see, no cgi or at least, not heavy cgi.

He made three movies with Brie Larson, the great Short Term 12 and the trash The Glass Castle which not even critics like. And his last movie is Just Mercy, which was a good legal drama,

Having seen his past work, I have 0 idea what he could bring to a Marvel-style blockbuster or really any blockbuster. Truly feels like he was hired because he has made some movies of note in the past, is Asian and likely won't put up a fight, rather than being a good fit for the project.

It's barely even a superhero movie at that. I grew up with marvel comics in a way that most normies didn't, and I've literally never heard of this character until they decided to make a movie about him. Admittedly he's been around for decades, but he was (and let's be honest, still is... and even will be after this) an obscure character that nobody gave a shit about until Disnarvel thought they could get some chink bucks out of him. Lol at him being banned in Chinkistan.

Moon Boy? Sorry, chud, it's Moon Girl now.

And she's literally the smartest character in the Marvel universe.
How the fuck is it possible to be smarter than Eternity, the Living Tribunal, or anything with cosmic awareness?

Back in 2015 or so I thought a Darkhawk movie would be good, but in [the current year]? Oh holy fuck no, stay away from my boy.

Chris Powell, OG Darkhawk since 1991, just got replaced by a new guy with MS. The first issue came out this week and was pretty bad.

Bruce Chan? Who are you talking about? "And it means that kids growing up today will have what I didn’t, which are characters that are aspirational, that also reflect their lived experience." Simu Liu is the first Asian. Ever. There’s never been an Asian person on screen, certainly not one doing martial arts, until Shang Chi existed.

Double Toasted, my preferred YouTube critics, says it starts off as a great "dramatic" effort, and then falls into the same MCU trap of "we need to fight CGI monsters" .Sounds like the director had a solid idea and then needed to work around the traditional Marvel dogshit. About what I suspected, a shame they still don't have enough confidence in these directors to let them break out of that dumbass formula.

The Amazing Spider-Man movies are also ahead of MCU in terms of cinematography, lighting and colour grading.

I mean Marvel could do it, they did it with the first Iron Man movie
correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Iron Man 1 made before the Disney Marvel deal? Iron Man 2 is clearly the one where the mouse started to poke fingers into the pie

Yes, and technically Iron Man 2 was as well as the deal was only finalized six months before release.

Disney didn't even become the MCU distributor until Avengers. And IIRC Feige didn't directly answer to Disney executives until around 2015 when Marvel Studios was placed into Walt Disney Studios.

Iron Man 1 was done before Disney. But don't think that has much to do with it, as Disney put out many good looking movies, outside Solo, all their Star Wars movies have looked great despite all their other issues.

Iron Man was shot on film, which normally looks better when it comes to the raw image, What happened is they moved to digital. A raw digital image looks worse than anything on film, very colorless and flat. But that flat image gives you more to work with, allowing you to make a final image that looks great.

The Avengers used ARRI ALEXA camera, which was also used on movies like Shape of Water and Blade Runner 2049, both movies which look great and have not of the marvel issues. So what happened is The Avengers was made by Joss Wendon, a guy with no eye for cinema, That is why it looked like a TV sitcom. And Marvel mandated all Marvel movies needed to go thru the same colour grading/post-production, as that movie.

TDLR: Blame Joss Whedon for setting the low standard and Kevin Feige for wanting to make everything look the same and make the post-production faster/smoother.
