It was better than Spider-Man 2002? Seriously?

Like seriously you actually think it's better than Spider-Man 2002?

Edit: It's nice that people have shittier taste these days.

I mean if we’re talking in terms of which are the better SPIDERMAN movies as opposed to which are the better movies in general the Raimi films definitely win. And then there’s the Garfield films which fail in every category

I can settle this debate right now.

All the Spider-Man movies, ranked from best to worst:

1. Spider-Man 2
2. Spider-Man 1
3. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
4. Spider-Man: Far From Home
5. Spider-Man: Homecoming
6. Spider-Man 3
7. Hitting your elbow
8. Stubbing your toe
9. A migraine
10. The Amazing Spider-Man
11. Crippling depression
12. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

For me it’s

1. Raimi Trilogy
2. Spiderverse
3. Far From Home
4. Homecoming
Trash. Webb Movies

They don't fail in cinematography like these new ones do.
They were not good but they felt like movies and not a TV movie like this crap does.

The only great Raimi movie was Spider Man 2, which is probably the best spidey movie (though the MCU ones are really, really solid imo, esp this one), even though Tobey is an awful Peter Parker, Doc Ock is what really brings the sizzle to that one IMO.

The rest is either good but gets worse with age (Spider Man 1) or is completely retarded and shouldn't exist (Spider Man 3).

Also for those who call for Uncle Ben: At this point, you can't make audiences care more about Uncle Ben than Tony Stark, no matter how many scenes you give him. It seems like in this MCU at this point in time, Stark is the Uncle Ben-type figure. I do agree that he should have been acknowledged with at least a line.

I honestly wonder when Norman Osborn will show his face in the MCU, the stage seems primed for an industrialist-type character to come in, and Osborn would be perfect to provide a different challenge for the heroes.

The first Raimi Spider-Man movie and Iron Man 1 are undoubtedly my favorite superhero origin movies. No other origin movies even come close for me.

And speaking of Iron Man 1 ...

I absolutely loved the callbacks to it in this new Spidey movie. Ralphie from A Christmas Story is officially a Spider-Man villain now ... lol. I love it.

But yeah, after 11 years and almost 25 movies at this point ... Iron Man 1 is still one of the MCU's best. Only Infinity War has reached that same level of greatness for me.

if we’re talking about sheer enjoyment I’d say 3 is Number 1 just for how enjoyably stupid it gets at points.

I love Kiki Dunst and her MJ was pretty good but like I can't help but wonder what it would have been like if they went with Alicia Witt as she was the original choice in early drafts. (Alicia's a good actress as well) I can't remember who their original Peter was unfortunately.

Now they're saying Shailene Woodley is going to be Spider Woman. I hope its false. She can't act and doesn't feel like Jessica Drew at all. She's definitely the worst part of Big Little Lies by far. Ironically she's MJ in the Amazing Spider Man films and she looked awful in behind the scenes photos.

Even though I'm kinda critical of it, the original Spider Man movie was the movie that placed the blueprint for nearly all of the current superhero movies (and by extension, blockbuster Hollywood), they all should legit give Raimi a royalty check for every movie.

(I also miss seeing Bruce Campbell in Spider Man movies).

Plus it gave us Bonesaw

Jake Gynalhowthefuxkyouspellhisname nailed it. Such a beautiful, punch able face.

Spiderman being set up as a forerunner for the new MCU feels much more natural than the rush job they're doing with Captain Marvel. I'm still a bit pissed she got the big Stan Lee tribute rather than Endgame.

The Webb films get too much hatred. They nailed Spidey and his sense of humour, nailed how much of a jerk Peter can be and that's true with those first runs of Amazing Spiderman. The romance was the best one of all the Spidey films and the guilt and sense of responsibility is still there. Everything else tho, yeah it's a mess. Still felt like Spiderman.

Same can't be said about MCU Spiderman, there wouldn't be problems if they weren't so arrogant about how faithful they are to the material, them and the marks.

The fact that in Homecoming Peter remembered Tony instead of Uncle Ben when he thought he was going to die was ridiculous. Ben is the whole reason he is even there risking his life everyday to begin with. It's just so kiddy like. Say what you want about how they need to be different but there is a limit, Aunt May is young and flirting with everyone, Flash and half the school are diversity projects, no problems at all emotionally for Peter he is happy go lucky trying to impress senpai until he dies, feels no guilt about Ben none at all, they don't even need to show anything about him. Just a line of dialogue, that's it, more now than ever since Tony died, Peter should relate it to the death of his uncle. And now the villains are more connected to Tony than the guy who owns the villain gallery they belong.

This almost cult like obsession with Tony Stark by many characters and fans is annoying, I can even say is not Tony Stark who everyone likes, it's Robert Downey Jr, take him away Iron Man, what's left? That's what makes Spiderman different to Iron Man. One is iconic despite the actor, the character stands on his own.

This mcu spidey being all autistic about Tony is like Feige's way of saying Sony is their little bitch.

A cuck podcast called Cinematic Universe ranted about Shallene Woodley being called ugly lol

Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 2 are the only ones I think are awful. Both are overstuffed messes, though the former is at least an entertaining trainwreck.

As for Peter himself, I don't think any of the movies have really captured his original characterization from when he was just starting out well. Dude was basically a proto-incel for those first 20 or so issues, constantly angry and whining about how all the girls were interested in that dumb Chad Flash while ignoring the sweet, caring, and intelligent Peter. He's even kinda an asshole, with people inviting him to go along with them and him basically responding with, "fuck u fagits i got better shit to do".

Amazing Spider-Man does have some really classic gems of dialogue though.
