Jumping on the bandwagon with some stuff that works for me. Like @lamictal said, keto and/or IF is actuallly pretty solid. You'd be surprised how good you feel on "low carb" food in general. (I put that in quotes because if you think about it, we live in a hyper-carby world, so even "low carb" now is more like "The amount of carbs other people ate for the last 6000 years".)
Some other tips I can give:
And as always, dieting doesn't work. You have to make permanent changes, because if you're 200+ and not a big-ass dude, then something is wrong to begin with.
- Drink more water. We need more than we think we do. If you can't do water immediately do sparkling water and unsweetened tea. The point is that a lot of times when we think we're hungry we're actually just dehydrated.
- Added sugars are the enemy. I can elaborate but the takeaway is to learn to read food labels and avoid that shit.
- Weightlifting is awesome. Muscles use more energy to maintain than fat, so it increases your resting metabolic rate just by existing.
That's pretty great advice. I'm trying to get under 200 lbs myself. Sugar is my worst enemy (especially during the summer). Despite not being able to go to the gym, I am thankful I do a lot of walking around and lifting things at my job.
