I'm assuming you already put lipbalm on first before you apply a liquid lipstick...if not, try that--it makes all the difference in the world. If you have tried that, another idea is to use a clear pencil (the UD ozone chubby pencil is great for this) to create a barrier between your skin and the lipstick.

I've got one of the Too Faced Melted Chocolate lipsticks in "Chocolate Diamonds" because it was sparkly and gorgeous and I HAD TO HAVE IT and I usually cut that with lip balm so it's not so hard on me to wear. But when I get a little extra cash I'll invest in a clear pencil (it's between the UD one or the Lipstick Queen one, I'll have to do an in-store comparison to see which one has the best texture) because it looks like that's something I just need in general... Even lip glosses tend to disappear quickly on me because my body just sucks up all the moisture in them.

I can't imagine how much worse this would be if I didn't drink as much water as I do.

I love Sugarpill. I've been using their stuff for years, the products are great, I'd wholeheartedly recommend them!

From what I hear sugarpill is a great brand. It used to be contrasted with Lime Crime, because they both were startup makeup companies around the same time, but lime crime is shit and run by a lolcow and sugarpill is actually good.

I'm glad other Kiwis approve!
I think I'll be getting Pumpkin Spice and Trinket. I love liquid lipsticks and I love glittery things even more so

Ipsy is sooo bad compared to birchbox. I cancelled them so fast.
I like birchbox a lot. I've been getting birchbox for a year and a half maybe? I also get the random shampoo and perfume, but I like the shampoos because they are good for traveling.
I guess birchbox is great if you travel, and like eyeliner, I like almost everything I get from them. I don't ever rate any of the products but I'm really happy with what I get every month.

ipsy is pretty bad. I had someone tell me they actually preferred ipsy to birchbox which I honestly don't get at all. I wish I still had the love for birchbox that I did. I suppose they are good for traveling. I might be moving soon so I might finally have an excuse to use some of the stuff that I've been holding on to.

I think I'm just not the best demographic since I rarely wear makeup and certainly not every day. But I can see how if you go through stuff fast BB is a great way to try before you buy.

And honestly, DIY-ing just makes me look at all the stuff and think to myself 'yea I can make that'.

At this point I'm honestly considering just making my own shit because it'd be more cost-effective for an addict like me. The only issue would be 1) buying supplies and 2) time and ability to sit around formulating colors. I'd have to drop quite a chunk of change just to get syringes, gloss tubes, empty nail polish bottles, etc.

I'm in the process of de-potting a lot of my loose eyeshadows to make them into lip products, or nail polishes if they're not lip-safe. Mostly just to experiment with formulas, although I might just get a couple pounds of Versagel and polish base and call it a day.

It's not to much the supplies, it's the shipping *sigh* I think there's one or two companies that have free warehouse pick-up, but good luck actually being within driving distance.

I was thinking of making my own beauty boxes and selling them on etsy. So you'd pick a box with a certain theme and it would have some beauty items of that theme. I just don't have the money or space to experiment, sadly.

I got a Lime Crime palette for Christmas and I'm dying to try it. I know it's run by a lolcow but the makeup looks awesome sometimes. I'll be doing my Christmas makeup with it.
Ooh, which one? I have the Venus palette (also got as a gift) and I fucking love it.

Ipsy isn't even worth signing up. My first ipsy bag, I got a lip gloss with a chemical issue which gave me chemical burns on my lips. The customer service response left much to be desired. I really liked Birchbox, but I'm not the biggest thing about foil samples, so I cancelled after about a year.

My favorite sub box ever is definitely the Julep Maven box. It's mainly nail polish, but Julep has some amazing beauty and skincare products, too. It's like $25 per month, you can customize what you get in the box each month, and you can skip a month (or more) without canceling and losing your Jules (rewards points). You can get three nail polishes, or two polishes and a full sized beauty product, or two full sized body products, and if you want more than that, you can add them on for a huge discount. There are some downsides to Julep, but honestly, even that's just entertaining.

Oh girl. I'm a full-on nail polish addict. Like, I legit have over 250 bottles of nail polish. (In my defense, I've worn them all). I have several friends who have their own indie nail brands, and it's a pretty saturated market. (I was going to launch my own indie nail brand, but I held off, and I'm glad I did.)

Damn :(
I've never gotten anything that bad. The lip products were just always goopy and streaky and impossible to apply, let alone be able to drink or kiss anyone without wiping it all off. I'm also skeptical about how most of their stuff is made in China where at least Birchbox seems to get stuff more from Europe or the USA.

Venus 2. I cannot wait. I can't justify me buying palettes that aren't neutral so I figure it's OK if it's a gift from someone else. I recently got the inglot gel liner and I am dying to try it on top of these matte shadows, because I wear a lot of shimmer

Ooh! I got the Venus earlier this year and my god I love it. Great formula and beautiful shades. I didn't have too many mattes at the time either. I'm definitely thinking about Venus 2.

I get Sephora Play. I need to sign up for Birchbox.

Lime Crime is a company I won't buy from because I don't want to give the asshole who runs it any of my money. See also: Jeffree Star. That said, those Venus palettes look really pretty.

That's how I feel about Kat Von D. Jeffree's behavior doesn't faze me in the least, because everybody knows he's a shit person, but if you date an actual neo-nazi and then act like some paragon of ethics in makeup, I'm gonna judge you.

I never had any issues with Ipsy's products but their shipping was fucking awful. My first month it got shipped to the wrong address and had to be sent back and re-delivered, the second month it took almost the entire month to get to me (it finally got to me the same time the next one shipped), and after the third month I cancelled it and switched to Birchbox. Oddly enough, that was the only month it actually got to me in a timely manner.

I like Birchbox so far. I might have to go back and tweak my preferences though since I noticed I'm starting to get some stuff I know I won't use.

I toyed with the idea of starting my own makeup company but honestly it really is an over-saturated market so I'd rather just be able to window-shop, see something I like, and make my own.

Like, there's this one line I've bought from a couple times and I like, Enchanted Polish. Problem is, about half the colors I want are constantly sold out and some of the swathes on their Instagram are from monthly subscription boxes and they're gorgeous but not available anymore. I'd like to not have to worry about getting my hands on a bottle of a much-sought-after color like "Moon Water":

And yeah, I have a massive collection too, lol. I'm getting rid of a ton of it though, I have way too much that I'll never really wear.

I'm so excited! For Christmas, my parents got me a gift certificate to get hair extensions. I always wanted long hair but I whenever I try to grow it out, it ends up getting ratty and gross.

I also got an eye shadow palate, which I have no idea how to use. Any advice?

Eh. Enchanted is a super overrated indie and there are deffo several indies that I can name off the top of my head that are better, don't cause pricing shitstorms, and aren't as difficult to find.
