@ATI Escapee If you can get them where you live, Duluth Trading is pretty classic. If you don't mind shelling out a bit, try check out Dovetail Workwear. I have a pair of flannel-lined jeans from them and they're great with a shit ton of pockets. Sizing is a little limited, although they do have some lines in more than one inseam option.

Gorls, I'm so sad. Athleta redesigned their full-length Salutation leggings and they're terrible now. The waistband is now super thin (in terms of thickness, not width), presumably to reduce bulk, but now the waistband friggin' rolls over itself like cheap ones do, and the length is about an inch shorter. If I wanted 7/8 length I would have gotten that one! The fabric also feels more polyester-y and cheap. Arrrrggghhh. It's already hard to find decent leggings in tall sizes.

Does H&M intentionally design their blouses to be as sweaty and restrictive as possible? I know it's all shitty polyester, but there is something uniquely hideous about the fabric they use for their womens' workwear.

Well, it's cheap and polyester in itself don’t breath at all and aren't flexible at all. The stretchy and "cooling" polyester you see in workout gear, is because of it's knitting style. Which I guess is more expensive to make.

I'm still mad that beauty influencers convinced us all that we should be wearing THICK foundation every day back in like 2016-18. I say a nikkie shoet today and the amount of foundation she put on was just baffling to me- she put more on one cheek that I would wear on my whole face lmao. Tinted BB creams are where it's at these days.
IT Cosmetics CC cream is especially amazing, it’s life changing (slight hyperbole lol)

I’ll never go back to foundation ever

Western beauty influencers seem to want to make women look as old, haggard, and manly as possible. The latest thing is apparent buccal fat removal? It's almost like they're trolling.

You’re right, my worst pair of slacks are from there and they’re gross and plasticky. Though I did read somewhere that clothes are made worse quality than they used to be.
If it’s your thing try find work clothes secondhand. Look for blazers and structured pants/skirts in good quality materials and check them for bobbling and tears
For shirts try cotton, if you have the money invest in some nice long lasting ones from a decent brand.
If you’re a sweaty Betty layer up in a breathable bra, shirt, cardigan and jacket. Put more layers on if you’re cold, and stay as cold as you’re comfortable at to reduce sweating.

There's weird shit with women listening to gay male influencers over female beauty gurus. What gay men have to say about presenting yourself well as a woman I have no idea, but I heard it's a thing.
Buccal fat removal is such a meme fad, I can't believe we live in an era where women are willingly cutting their youthful full cheeks out to get a headstart on getting wrinkly. Ffs love yourself the way God made you.

I bought a nice handbag (never had one before) and I'm getting used to wearing it around. But it still makes me feel like a fag. Do I just need to keep wearing it until that feeling goes away?
Uh, yeah? Why would a handbag make you feel like a fag? Are you one? You should probably feel like what you are, keeps you in touch.

It kind of depends on how it looks, and how you carry it. I just go for a black sleek one in leather, that's hard to fuck up.
Carrying it on your wrist will make you look like a fag. So I just go for the shoulder strap. I'm a male tho, so advice would probably be a bit different. As you’re probably a woman.
Women wearing handbags on their wrist tend to look silly, in a bimbo way.

Your honour, don't lump me in with "them". They are aspiring troons, nothing can change my mind on this.
And the term for women loving everything fags do is fag hag.

Pro tip for manicures: if yours is growing out and you aren't ready to go back yet, you can fill in the base of your nail with glitter polish, which is distracting enough to look intentional.

Might not be news to nailfags, but I only started doing mine recently, so it was news to me!

I did this when my acrylics were growing out and didn't have time to get to the salon.
Glitter polish makes everything better.
Nails grown out? Glitter.
Mess up your nail art? Glitter.
Stains on your nails? Glitter.

Speaking of nail stuff, I've amassed a pretty large nail supply collection ever since the pandemic and haven't gone to a nail salon since. Western nail salons charge you an arm and a leg now for gel and way too much for nail art. Most of the designs they do are either super tacky black woman shit or super basic designs for $$$. I've just been copying Japanese or Korean nail designs off of Instagram. Speaking of which, Korean and Japanese gel brands are really good. I've been using the Jello Jello peel off base coat since it makes gel removal so much more convenient. I highly recommend it, even though I still can't manage to get it to last longer than a week since I'm pretty lazy about prepping my nails.

It's not the cheapest, but if you guys are gonna do this, try to snag some Holo Taco.

Same, I’ve saved so much money (on nails and on tinting and shaping my eyebrows too which I also learned during lockdown)

I will check out the peel off base coat you mentioned. If you have any other specific brands/products you recommend can you post them too? I don’t know much about Korean and Japanese brands so my interest was piqued by your post.

Japanese gels are generally very affordable (under $20) but they are primarily in pots, meaning you'll need seperate brushes. They usually need a couple coats in order to be completely opaque. They're also able to be soaked off with acetone vs having to use an efile. The quality is really good and the smaller sizes is good for hobbyists. There's 2 main stores which I've bought Japanese gels from before:
Naillabo carries the gel brands Presto and Ageha. They also stock Tsumekira nail stickers which are also high quality and are designed in collab with nail artists.
Nailwonderland is a Singapore based supplier but their shipping is very reasonable and fast (I usually get stuff to the US in under 2 weeks). They primarily carry Pregel, which comes in a larger pot. I have noticed their gels tend to seperate so some stirring is necessary.

Korean gels are more expensive (usually $15+) and comes in really nice packaging. Colors are opaque in one swipe and the self leveling is really quick. They tend to churn out trendy stuff like glitter gels or syrup gels. There's 2 US-based retailers I favor since I don't want to pay for UPS shipping from Korea:
Zillabeau carries a wide variety of Korean gel brands. My favorite is Fiote as their gels are on the thicker side with very little chemical smell. From the Nail (Fgel) has a great clear topcoat that is great for beginners to use.
TheGel is a cheap Korean brand. Their quality is on par with the more expensive brands but the bottle size is a little smaller. Unfortunately the US store doesn't seem to carry any of the new colors that have come out recently.

There's reviews on YouTube from western nail techs who generally are all impressed by how much better Asian nail products are. It's definitely a rabbit hole you can easily sink hundreds into (not that I know from experience haha...).

Something I've been doing since I quit getting acrylics done is to polish my nails with a clear gel polish, and use regular nail polish over that.
My nails are thin and peel/split if you look at them funny, so the clear gel protects them and lets me grow them out just a little.
I use non-acetone remover when I want to change the color coat.

Shout out to Christine again:

This is great for regular polish but the trick is to prebuff, dry out your nails, and leave a little space between the edges of your nails. It's not as long lasting as the Jello Jello peel off base, but I've never had problems removing the Peely base coat since it's just regular polish. You really have to prep your nails well beforehand otherwise your polish will peel off in a couple of days.
