Any thoughts on dark academia for men? I'm getting new winter clothes and I've just started a new office job that allows me to wear my own clothes, after years in uniform, so my wardrobe is pretty lacking. Looking at black v neck sweaters, white collar shirts, undecided on shoes and trousers.
Nice shoes as in loafers or oxfords in brown leather or black, and a decent button-down coat. Slacks or chinos for bottoms and match your belt color to your shoes. Wear whatever on top as long as it isn't garish trash. If you ever find yourself needing more colors, experiment with ties and sweaters rather than salmon pants and weed leaf socks.

I love dark academia, I don't know where the name came from though. We used to call it "preppy" or "classy" in my neck of the woods.

The term comes from Tumblr moodboard culture. I'm not even joking.

I even made one for Kiwi Farms in another thread that I've now lost.
Fuck you, I'll do one now. Someone give me topic.

Do a mood board for one of the major sub forums. I think Stinkditch would be really cliche, how about the Kino Casino one?
I don't know much about those besides what I hear on MATI, so please enjoy this Completely-Uninformed Kino Casino moodboard.

I hate the no pooers. Unless they have a dry scalp and only need to wash once a week. But never washing your scalp ever, you will never convince me that is healthy and normal. At least she uses clay though. There is a nasty Jewess youtuber who just uses linen bonnets and hair brushing and says it's historical. I think her name is snappy dragon on youtube.

Maybelline did what I thought was impossible and made a satin finish, transer-proof liquid lipstick! I am so into their new vinyl ink lipsticks! I got the color Cheeky which is like a warm muted pinky red color. I wore it for thanksgiving dinner and it totally held up for me through all of dinner, even after getting chocolate ganache all over my lips. It did lose a lot of its shine after a few hours but it never went fully matte.

I definitely want to try a couple of the lighter colors as well. I thought I was at a point where I wasn't really going to buy new makeup except to refill my tried and trues but I'm super impressed with this.

It's historical, but that's because they didn't have shampoo back in the day, and when it first came. It was only for the rich and elite.

The brushing is to distribute the oils from the scalp.
This is why you hear advice from the first half of the last century about brushing "100 strokes," because it's not to get your hair straight, but to redistribute the oil.

In Sex and the Single Girl (1962), Helen Gurley Brown noted that you had the option of paying someone to do that for you, during your lunch hour.

She also advised that if your office gets a newspaper, save money by not subscribing at home, just reading it at work. It's a really interesting book from a historical standpoint; the title is mostly marketing.

I'm sure it's historically accurate for a bunch of people who lived in the desert with no access to water.

Aww man, that sounds pretty nice, actually.

I love these too.
I have Coy and Witty, and want more. Anything pinky-mauve that's cool is perfect.
And they do stay on. I was doubtful, because many of the liquid lipsticks are so drying to me, but these don't give me the cat's butthole look.

I have an oily scalp and a dry, wavy, bleached-to-shit-and-back-again mess of hair. I wanted it to feel soft and nice, so I started using Johnson’s baby shampoo and conditioner. I don’t remember any of the research I did to bring me to try it, but it’s cheap as shit and it works, so I will never use anything else.

I read your post the other day and immediately ordered a couple colors. They’re excellent, thank you so much. I really thought that liquid lipstick simply wasn’t for me because my lips get nasty and cracked so easily, but these aren’t so drying and I can even put lip balm over them without it turning into a gross mess.

I'm kinda busy with work rn so I can't read the whole thread, but does anyone is interested in tight lacing? I want some opinions, because all websites I find are all like "oooh it's so amazing there's nothing wrong with it"!!
I already wear corsets because of my style, but only on special occasions, and I am quite used to it. And I go to the gym and take care of my diet, so my measurements are already getting smaller.

Anyways, I like this kind of style, but it's complicated to find clothes like this in Brazil. If I find, it's expensive as fuck and I can't buy from overseas because, well, economy is shit and I have to pay rent.

Yeah I had basically given up on liquid lipsticks because they made my lips so crusty and the color would get all patchy. I'm glad it worked out for you, what colors did you get?

my lips get nasty and cracked so easily,
Look into Cerave healing ointment, the one with the all blue packaging and silver lid. It's not only vaselin in it, it's mixed with hyaluronic acid and ceramides too.
It's about the only thing that works for my lips, regular vaselin with something moisturising under doesn't work.

Neutrogena Hydroboost hydrating lip treatment is another one. Haven't tried it, as I need to import it.

I have dry ass lips too, to the point that sometimes it bleeds. What helps me is using healing lip balm several times a day (one by Nivea, I don't know how it's called in other countries), scrubbing it once a week (with a papaya one, really good) and using primer when I wear liquid lipstick.

i recommend using Lush's lip scrubs. they're gentle, they moisturize, and they're edible, so they don't leave that super gross chemical taste.
