Just ordered too faced's glitter bomb, I originally was going to pass on this palette but the packaging reminded me of too faced older packaging and I had to order it. I saw the swatches and I like how a good portion of them swatch. I might also pick up urban decay "moon dust" so I can compare the two.

I don't usually do glitters and I usually do really natural eyes so I'm excited to play around with the palette.

Got any blush recommendations? I have a pale, cool complexion. A lot of peachy or warm blushes can come off as outright orange on my skin tone and pink can be a bit clownish.. Blush was something I neglected for years (rosy cheeks) so I'm not great at picking them.

I got a blush palette from Makeup Revolution but it's glittery as fuck, it brings out the texture on my cheeks. :(

Does anyone know of a good lip scrub/ exfoliant? I keep trying to make my own out of extra virgin Olive oil and sugar but it never works as good as i hope.

ELF makes one that has sugar in it and only costs like 4 dollars. It's a stick, but I actually like it better that way, less mess.

I saw that one, I just wasn't sure if it was any good! (Elf is super hit or miss, ime.)

It's basically just beeswax or petroleum jelly and sugar. I have no experience with any other ELF products because I never buy them, but that particular one pretty much does what it's supposed to do.

Girls! (Dudes too?) I've got a family event coming up in Sept I was going to get a mani-pedi for (I don't get them done often as it's too expensive a luxury for that) but I don't know if I should just get the standatd spa, or splurge a little on a gel or shellac.

I've had acrylics before but they made my nails super weak and brittle afterwards so I said "never again". By themselves my nails are pretty strong, I've been complimented on them naked before. So I don't want them torn to shit again.

So how good are gels or shellac for nails like mine? Pros, cons, experiences?

Shellac still involves roughing up the surface of the nail before applying, so if your nails are super thin/brittle already, I'd go for a regular mani instead.

Edit: the removal process can be rough on the nail too since the gel polish has to be soaked off with pure acetone.

Yeah I'd heard you can only remove a Shellac at a salon so I was wondering if the life and color was worth it. But hearing the nail needs to be roughed to even apply it, I'm thinking no. (:_(

Yeah, they don't rough it as much as they do when they apply/fill fake nails, but if you have delicate nails, it's probably not the best choice. :/

I suggest Tarte's Amazonian clay blushes. They're mostly natural tone and the texture is really nice. I'm not a big blush buyer either so I'm careful about what brands I buy. I also love IT cosmetics blushes but the one I use is a really bright pink.

I'm getting modern renaissance tomorrow, and while it's been out in stores for awhile I'm vibrating at the fact that it's going to be mine.

Hi everybody! I know I'm not the only dangerhair here, and I'm in a bit of a pickle. I bleached + dyed my hair magenta (using Punky Colour) a few months back and I was just gonna let it wash out on its own but it doesn't seem to be doing it as quickly as I had wanted. Are there any home remedies to getting it out I haven't heard of*, or should I go with the professional approach? Or should I just wait longer? Or just bleach it again?

It's about half washed out, half pink still. I need it 100% out because I'm going to do it yellow by the end of the summer. Thanks in advance laydees

*I tried mixing vitamin C powder with my shampoo and leaving it for a few hours because I saw it on YouTube. It didn't work as well as I would have liked, but a lot of color came out, but I used Emergen-C (I don't know if that was what I was supposed to use) and only did it once.

This is kind of embarrassing but I pulled a Kai and used too much toning shampoo on my hair and now my ends look greenish after re-bleaching them. How can I fix this horrific situation?

Chronic dangerhair here, don't bleach it it won't remove the magenta like it does natural hair. It'll be lighter but its not worth the damage trying to get perfect removal. Magenta is the worst for a true temporary.
Don't do baking soda as some people suggest it's a bitch to get out and sucks out any moisture without fading the color worst idea.
I tend to use https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C0YZBJE/ which isn't going to be perfect since it's for permanent dye and that works totally different but it does work better than any homemade remedy I've ever tried when swapping colors. Don't do it then try to dye immediately after because it will block your attempt, wait a day or two for it to be totally neutralized. It smells like satan's sulphurous asshole

If you stained the cuticle you're shit out of luck, go darker or chop it

For anyone who cares/has the money to blow, Sephora has a bunch of exclusive sets for sale on their app today, including a repromote of Kat Von D's Serpentina palette, which was limited edition last year and is really pretty. There's a bunch of nifty stuff and it's all only on the app today, I believe.

ooh I don't have the time right now to read through everything so do forgive me if this has already been discussed!

I recently started getting into lolita fashion, and while I live in a town that's a bit too small for me to comfortably change my style so drastically and quickly, I've been looking around for items to wear once in a while when I just want something cute. Struggling to find exactly where to buy stuff for a reasonable price, though (of course I don't expect it to be dirt cheap, it is an expensive style but just so I won't have to eat cup noodles for a month). Does anyone have any stores they swear by that carry lolita fashion?

Normally I wouldn't tell anyone to do this, because I'm a professional and recommending someone to buy pro-hairdresser shit online leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but the Malibu Direct Dye Lifter is available on Amazon and it's the best method I've found. It's gentle and doesn't lift at all so at worst your hair might be a little dry after.

Failing that, high-lift haircolor (not bleach!) with a low-volume developer (10 vol MAX) usually does it. I haven't had pink hair in years so I don't remember if that's effective or not, but it's worth a shot.

So, I never did end up finding a lip stain I liked. What I did run across was a liquid lip from Smashbox that's super lightweight, and not too drying. One of the things that bugs about some liquid lipstick formulations like Anastasia is that they can feel heavy on the mouth and stay a little sticky even after they dry. This one is super satiny and I fell in love with the color: Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Miss Conduct.

Edit/Update: After wearing it a full day at work, it made it through two giant coffees and lunch without needing to be touched up. There was a little bit of transfer, but not enough for it to be noticeable, and no cracking or peeling. Also came off cleanly with a Neutrogena makeup wipe without needing any scrubbing.

Anyone got any thoughts/opinions on China Glaze's new My Little Pony collab collection?

Top: Kill 'Em with Kindness (yellow crème/jelly), Cutie Mark(TM) the Spot (green crème/jelly), One Polished Pony (Tiffany blue crème with silver shimmer), Too Busy Being Awesome (blue crème), Sweet as Pinkie Pie(TM) (pink crème/jelly), She's a Mane-iac (hot pink matte with silver shimmer). Bottom: Applejack(TM) of my Eye (apple red crème), Hay Girl Hay! (sheer gold/green glitter topper), I Sea Ponies (silver linear holographic), Let Your Twilight Sparkle(TM) (sheer blue/purple shimmer topper), I Just Canterlot (holographic glitter in a purple base), Where's the Party Canon(sic) At? Also, the Songbird Serenade duo:

Left: Best Ponies Forever (gold metallic). Right: Songbird Serenade (black with fine rainbow glitter)
Any strong feelings? Getting them all? Not touching the collection with a ten foot pole? Getting them despite the branding? Me, I love gold and black glitters, so I got the duo even though I don't really care about the branding. The pink matte and the silver holo look tempting too!

I saw them at the nail salon this morning and the ones they had on display didn't look very exciting. That berry holo looks like it'd be great for a pedicure though! :heart-full:
