I bought the Benetint rose stain a few months ago, and holy shit, it is my absolute favorite thing. I normally can't wear blush because I already get red, but this blends perfectly with naturally rosy cheeks, plus it makes a really nice, subtle lip stain. I wear it literally any time I put on makeup. The only downside I've found is that the other colors are really thick and don't blend nearly as well, so you don't get much in way of variety. But it does smell like roses.

Also you apply it to your cheeks by essentially drawing Naruto whiskers

I think benefit Benetint is pretty too, and smells good. I also like the posey for a real pink.

I found a new highlighter by M.ilk, Holographic stick, which is my new fav. It's a cream stick so you can put it on light or heavy, up to you. On me, it looks pretty natural and glowy. I bought Becca's Amethyst same day, and while the color is identical, the Becca first sets into wrinkles and then just disappears on me and the Mil.k doesn't. I've got about ten highlighters (mostly samples to be fair) but finally found the right one.

Also, Stila has new Magnificent Metals duo chrome eye shadows-I got Sea Siren which is a pink blue. It's gorgeous. Some give it bad reviews because they think it's a pure shadow, but it isn't. You do your eyes first completely and then pat this on for shine-it's an addition, not a shadow. I like to do either pink or purple looks then add this-it's stunning as Kailyn would say.

If you want it for a shadow alone, you'd have to realize there isn't a lot of color, just the duochrome glitter which adds shine but not depth. Love it. I'm going to get all three colors now. The glitter is micro fine so even a woman not in her 20s can wear it.

Ugh getting back into the groove of looking super cute is hard af after recovering from stuff.

I really want to get me some cute scarfs to put my hair up for the summer, but I can't seem to find scarfs and handkerchiefs that are cute or practical for it recently. Where's the cute stuff? Anyone know of places with really colorful, cute patterns or flower patterns?

I collect scarves, because of "stuff". I like vintage ones, and I find thrift stores have the best selection. Look closely for holes and pulls, and then wash by hand using Zout (for silk) but I think you'll find cute, flowered ones-I have lots.

And you might find valuable ones-I've found Hermes, Dior, Vuitton, Feragamo, Paloma Picasso ...none more than 2.00. Lots of Scottish cashmere for winter including burberry ...those high end names are rare but scarves seem to be the one thing thrift stores haven't figured out can be valuable. And there are plenty pretty 100% silk no name ones in good shape too. Always look to see if they are signed, you never know. I haven't found a Pucci but I keep looking! I've found so many nice ones that I find it hard to pay full price now (although I did buy another Hermes because I sold the one I found and regretted it later! Crazy. ).

Even if you don't find high end, there are usually some Vera scarves and others along those lines in lots of colors. And always modem scarves. You can also buy lots of them on eBay for ten bucks or so.

Even goodwill has nice scarves and they charge 2.50. Many are new.

Happy hunting!

All the cute ones I've found are in the $150+ range, when even last year I could find some beautiful ones at more low-end bargain places for proper classic headwraps. (I find cotton works better than silk for hair, though, unless you have a longer scarf.) Kinda kicking myself for not buying them now, since my area really isn't the place to get scarves and handkerchiefs thrifty unless they're from walmart 10 years ago.

When I go south into the bigger city this summer I'll take a peak in the thrift shops there.

Lowkey jealous of your Hermes and Ferragamo, though. What ones do you have?

My Hermes is Maison de carres, this one, in honor of their new website. I fell in love with it when I was in Vegas in 2015. I have it in the black/grey colorway.

Sorry, can't seem to inline it.

I'm getting an itch for another but like I said, I think I like the silk on puccis better. Hermes is pretty spectacular though. I like the tohu bohu but I'd like a silk/cashmere shawl, out of my price range.

The Feragamo is the typical cheetah in the jungle, like this one. Very pretty.

I wish I'd fallen in love with scarves earlier-they are getting harder to find. The Hermes I bought for a dollar has a fish design that I haven't seen since I sold it for a hundred.

I'm planning on going white with my hair. The one thing I'm hung up on is a hair mask to use between bleachings. I was looking at this one because it has pretty good reviews, but I've also been reading about using just coconut oil. Anyone have any opinion?

@rabbitbones Years ago on holiday I did some stupid diy hair bleach with vodka and lemon juice. This stuff was the only thing that seemed to stop the breakage and brought back lustre.

Ah the Maison des Carres is so colorful. Hermes has to be my favorite, with their bright colors and intricate designs. Sorry about the loss of your fish scarf. Was it this one by chance?

Unfortunately, I can't remember but it's possible it was the same in the green coloway, but I found it over ten ten years ago and I don't see which year this one cane out. I have to say, I find that was beautiful in the black background. As a tropical fish keeper myself, had I seen that in black I'm so so sure I'd have been quick to sell it.
I'd die to have one of their Parures de Samourais, Flanerie a Versailles, Etude pour un Iris Arc-en-ciel, or (oddly) specifically this color of Appaloosa des Steppes because it reminds me of adult Lisa Frank artwork and makes me laugh. But yeah, way out of my price range just for a slip of fabric.

The Parures de Samourais is out this spring and quite fabulous in the orange coloway. The Iris is beautiful especially if you enjoy Andy Warhol. The Appaloosa is a new one from this year as well?

I think I'd love to get one a year and this year I'd go the Flanerie a Versailles. However, I am still eyeing and older Toju Bohu.

Or, perhaps that fish one. It's close if not it.

Yes, it's just a piece of fabric. Or, a piece of art! One that holds value for a lifetime. And we should treat ourselves once in a while. I'm not rich by any means-but life is short and I sometimes 400 on a lovely scarf-and it may be time to do it again. :). I was thinking Pucci but Hermes is drawing me in. They are so gorgeous. Pucci is better for my climate and my size but there isn't much like Hermes.

I have white/silver hair. Check into olaplex. I don't do it at home but my stylist can get a level 7 on me (?) using that product. My hair is black so it takes a while but because of olaplex, my hair is not damaged. It's white and silver, not blonde.

So my job currently requires nude/natural makeup...but I've been dying to try some more adventurous colors on the weekends. Someone mentioned BH Cosmetics in the Kailyn thread when UrbanDecay's Moondust palette was being discussed. They seem to have a ton of different palettes for very good prices.

I've been using ELF and Covergirl for like three years straight so I'm not really one who insists on high-quality makeup, but is BH any good? I don't want to pay money for something that's inexpensive because it's crap.

As terrible as this might sound, inexpensive and makeup can and cannot add up sometimes, but there is a way around it. Shopping on QVC there's a brand called IT cosmetics that's worth every penny you put into it.

-On another note, nappy black hair here and it's so damaged from perming I am considering just shaving it off and letting it grow out fresh. Good idea or?

does anyone here have any piercings??
i just got my belly pierced a couple weeks and i fucking love it and it makes me so happy! some of friends and of course my mom thinks is trashy, but I think it looks good and i could care less about what they think. the one i got and most likely will never take out, is super simple and minimalistic. i don't like any of that dangly bright shit. i also got it cause i got back down to weight i was semi happy with, which i haven't been in a while.

anywhoooo... goodnight!
and it didn't hurt what so ever, my cartilage piercing hurt 50 times more.

IT cosmetics is a good brand and they came out with a neutral pallet recently call superhero. It's got nice colors and enough to play with within reason and it's about 35.00 probably less on QVC.

You can also do the naked basics, they aren't expensive and you'll get a lot of nice neutrals. I've pretty much hit pan on that pallet and was going to buy another, but now my go-to neutral is Viseart 6 color theory. It's expensive at 45 bucks but they really are beautiful powders. If you use them then it's better than having ton of cheapies you won't use in the drawer. And the pale color is matte, with a matching shimmer, very delicate and pretty, you'd like it.

I also like LA girls palettes. For 7 bucks, you get many good colors that are decently pigmented if a little fall out.

I have never heard of B &H or don't recognize the acronym so can't help.

I have been bald. My hair is now all natural and thick and long. But I can't say the time it was pleasant. As it turns out, I definitely don't have the face for it, and a bald head almost begs for daily makeup, good brows, skin, earrings and accessories. You have nowhere to hide! I think it all depend on your looks and how fast it grow. 7 years for me to get it past my shoulders. But it's healthy.

I'm not pretty enough and wouldn't do it again. You may be much more confident and pretty. But no continual moisturizing!

I used to have a ton of piercings, ears and face. No one ever believed me when I said the most painful piercing to get was my industrial. Cartilage piercings are the fucking worst.

If you're uncertain, I'd suggest just cutting damaged ends off... I went nuts and completely destroyed my hair with dye last year, so I got a pixie cut. It didn't look bad really, but it was hard to look or feel feminine, if that makes any sense. I hated having my picture taken. Growing it out was a nightmare, too--I'm just now starting to feel sort of myself again. I would imagine that shaving it entirely would be even worse.

Anyway, sorry for the story. if you do decide that shaving is the only way to go, maybe consider investing in a wig or two beforehand?

Thanks for the tips. Being black, my hair is just unmanageable at this point, plus some personal reasons. I will test my options and see what's best, considering my face and all.

Anyone else picked anything up/want to pick something up from Zoya's new set?

Following the swirl from bottom left to top right: Scout (lying down), Arbor, Sawyer, Cora, Journey, Sonja, Mandy, Winnie, Byrdie (lying down), Esty, Lois (the purple), River

The prevailing opinions among the nail polish community is "Scout, Arbor, River, and maybe the oranges and Lois good, everything else crap." I'm a little embarrassed and a little ashamed to say I'm most excited for Journey (the shimmery red), Mandy (the shimmery pink), Sonja (the red crème) and Winnie (the lightest pink crème), with the possible exception of Cora and Lois I'm pretty comfortable with passing on everything else. Olive greens like Arbor and Scout and pale sherbet-y oranges like Sawyer look horrendous on my skin tone, River is pretty but I'm worried it's too similar to the blue shimmer from OPI's Fiji set, Do You Sea What I Sea, which I pretty much just bought. And Scout looks like cat vomit. There, I said it.

I wanted some mauve eyeshadows, so I spent ten bucks on stuff at Colourpop. I hope it's as good as people say it is.

I'm currently browsing sephora for new products to get on Friday when I get paid. I've been really depressed lately and makeup has been the only pick me up that works at this time for me.
