Places like the subreddit, the forums, and his YouTube comments provide him with the validation he needs to be brazen with his choices, which is a recipe for disaster since there's no opposing voice in his life, and he can do what he wants without really facing any criticism since he feels he holds himself to a high enough standard meaning he can do stupid stuff like buy a aircraft while pretending he's thought about the logistics behind it. If I were to diagnose him, I'd say that Linus exhibits obvious signs of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. But he's been off his rocker for a while now, and it's a combination of things. It doesn't help that he has a family history of mental illness, nor does the stress that naturally comes from running a slowly dying business...
A midlife crisis seems to have hit him particularly hard, too. He bought a motorcycle and has been undergoing all kinds of cosmetic procedures for a few years now. Incidentally, that is why he shaved his COVID-era beard a while back. To get micro-needling done. And now the braces. Quite naturally, people started to make fun of him. With the braces, Linus somehow managed to sound even more like a lispy f-slur than usual. They're also yellow because he keeps eating curry and doesn't brush his teeth lmao. Anyway, the comments on here bothered him so much that he had to make a Kiwi Farms account just to try and flip the narrative and "own" the people ITT. Definitely not normal behavior.
For a second, I thought, maybe divorce? But now that I think about it, it seems highly unlikely. Linus and Yovanne have been together for so long, so I'm sure they'll weather this manic episode of his.

In that same WAN Show episode (from Jan 24), he did say that he was launching a "coin." Linus has been toying with doing an "ironic" LinusCoin rug-pull for a few years now, ever since crypto and NFTs blew up. They even had serious internal discussions at LMG about scamming their fans, but ultimately decided not to go through with it.
Judging by Luke's reaction, it won't be a scam. I personally believe it to be a physical coin. Maybe gold-plated. With Linus' face stamped on it.
