This ended up being way funnier than expected, here's an unnecessarily-long video about it. Basically Anthony learned nothing from his time at LTT, he has no idea how to put out good content in a timely fashion and he also basically ignored tons of stuff during the process of fixing his PC that could/should have been in his video.

I remember when they first brought him on and being shocked they would put him in front of a camera, and even more shocked that he was supposedly “the tech guy”. They literally saw a rotund man who had a tenuous grasp of Linux at best and assumed he was their most knowledgeable employee. I had stopped watching for the most part prior to that but that really put the nail in the coffin for me. He knew a few Linux terms, could spout off some gee whiz information that the audience wasn’t aware of and could be found on stack overflow, and he was suddenly “the guy” for anything technical.

It’s even more amazing that despite going in that direction with him, never really expanding past that. Did his looks kill engagement for more technical content? Was he too incompetent to expand? Cybersecurity was starting to explode around the same time frame and now there’s an endless number of cybersecurity creators raking in views and partnerships. Them never expanding in that direction and even attempting to take advantage of their Obesity Distro of Linux still shocks me. The amount of money to be made from massive cybersecurity partnerships to shill to their fan base that is aging into their careers, but instead they just kept dumbing down content and running sponsored half baked reviews to an audience of children while increasing their staff with nothing to show for it.

I can always sperg out about the abandonment of Mac Address too. Completely wasted potential.

98% chance their customer service tracking is an excel doc they call a “database” and “ticketing system” with 100 different sheets inside of it. Probably backed up to a an external hard drive and One Drive. They’re too cheap to pay for actual enterprise software that’s purpose built.
 
I think Anthony has expanded plenty. Dude had a passion for older games, But beyond that was fucking Tech illiterate and brain dead when it came to Linux. My 68-year-old mother can install Ubuntu, it's not that deep

This combination is what I think did him in. Among the technically inept, he was producing dry content as a visually unappealing host, with lackluster humor and no stage presence. For the technically in the know, he was just wrong, and not even in a laughably good way, just in a "bro please" way. He shoulda stayed a rare surprise appearance backroom goblin, not trying to host whole videos.

They paid $1.3 million for the house they got, which might be less because after an inspection showed it has foundation and drainage issues (a drain in a room goes directly under the house, no plumbing), there are electrical issues and a rodent infestation, and seemed to have been given a quick real estate makeover ie new paint and home depot shelves to make it more appealing.

It's possible to pause Patreon billing for members. I wonder if this is something Anthony has done, or if he's indeed scamming them? Could be something mentioned in the full post. Or he is being a fat piece of shit and scamming people.

MrBeast already did this, it seemed to hurt his analytics a little bit, and then stopped after YouTube added all language dubbing for each individual video. Currently, if you click on the Spanish mrbeast channel, it just redirects you to his main one. Very strange that Linus & co would do it this way, especially now, especially since no one in France can afford a computer anyway.

The translations are indeed done with AI by a company called Linguana which is linked in the channel description. https://www.linguana.com/

Nah, I'm gonna go with the more likely possibility that he's a fat piece of shit scamming people with no intention of actually producing content considering in the span of a year he's done one stream(about building the PC in February), 1 video that people got early access to where he admitted he can't troubleshoot and build a fucking computer in July, and a couple of bullshit status updates before July. Also if he had paused the billing, then 1/3 of his paying audience wouldn't have needed to cancel their memberships likely due to a lack of content.

I am truly shocked they lazily attempted another monetization method rather than create high quality videos that interest viewers outside of their core parasocial Reddit audience. Shocked.

How long until the foreign language channels are abandoned? I give it mid 2026 until Linus has some sort of epiphany about how this was a waste and makes it known on the WAN show, and late 2026 for him bringing up how Linguana was “difficult” to work with and “YouTube does it better” on the WAN show. But without mentioning them by name, as Luke nods along and says it’s a good idea not to name them, while the audience goads him into it until finally Linus wants enough validation to say “alright guys it was Linguana okay you can stop asking now guys.” As Luke sits several feet away, clearly uncomfortable, before he settles back into his catatonic state of visualizing what else he could be doing.

The part that gives me conniptions is he ultimately didn't end up actually getting the large hoodie that he paid for, but still says he will continue to buy things from them. Oh also someone else didn't get their emails about fixing LTTs previous VAT fuckup answered for over a month despite repeatedly messaging their support. A clown company.
