🌟 Internet Famous Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

If I was the owner of a relatively large company I'd buy a private jet too, but maybe that is because i'm a plane autist. Not sure what Linus and Luke need it for though, a private jet seems like overkill for them. A Falcon 900 is a nice choice, though.

My guess would be 76-77k.
No fucking way, i refuse to believe that. I made more than that straight out of college with DEFINITELY less responsibilities than the dude.Yes, yes i was in the US , but you cannot tell me Canadian wages are that much lower especially when the city is as expensive as San Fran. I'm guessing he was being payed about $100 - $120K, and wanted to (understandably) make more.
Why the fuck does he need a fucking trijet? and a 26 year old one, is he flying weekly flights to france or spain with 12 people?
Ver archivo adjunto 8492801Ver archivo adjunto 8492807Ver archivo adjunto 8492809
Ver archivo adjunto 8492811
Look at the fucking operational cost, 3-4 years and he will spend more cash paying for gas and maintenance that the entire purchasing price of this plane.
:story:

He's a gigantic moron, why the fuck not lease one or pay for a charter service? it's far cheaper, you only see people who actually need to fly to several dozen countries a year like musicians or sport stars actually owning one, everyone else just charters one
Linus, if you are reading this, i promise you do NOT need to buy a jet bro, just rent one out when you need it:story:

Look at these operational costs!!!

Its in the owning companies name, Influencer Air. He's going to sell flights on it, not just use it himself.
Who the fuck is going to charter a nearly 30 year old plane even if he remodels the entirety of the interior for tech retards, and who the fuck besides himself has the cash to charter it in the first place?
Sounds like a retarded idea, really fucking career ending, since it's a 8 million dollar plane, it isn't cheap, i can't even begin to calculate the expenses for doing a airline, the plane by itself costs 2-3 million a year to run, imagine paying staff, airline insurance, all the regulatory red tape, etc.
To all those obviously super wealthy tech influencers who want luxury travel and are also based in Vancouver. I do think he's got illusions of making it better suited for tech people as they travel, but anything more advanced than "I put satellite internet and an editing workstation in the plane" is beyond what anyone on a plane might even want. And he's not gonna get a premium price out of them for it either, any influencer who can afford a premium jet flight has on staff editors so they don't have to work like a dog on a continental flight.
Exactly, all those huge ass youtubers will either charter a newer, safer, cheaper, plane, or just buy business class tickets, which are 95% of the first class/private jet experience at 1/3 the cost
While I agree that it seems to be a dumb decision to buy an entire jet for some reason, there's a good chance he'll rent it out to charter companies when he isn't planning on using it to offset the maintenance and other costs. A lot of jet owners do that because most people don't use their jets consistently enough to justify not doing that.
How much cash you think some charter company is going to lease it for? it's going to be barely above the cost of ownership, much less all the taxes and redtape he's doing by registering another company just for this old ass plane.
Is there a shortage of private jets in Canada? will they scramble to pay whatever Linus wants out of this jet? i don't think so.
Now, the decision to buy a jet to begin with is the big question; and from every angle it looks super retarded. Kinda like buying another house, or funding a tech lab, or [insert every decision Linus has made with his company].
This is peak retarded, he's not even buying a new jet, at least the quartering was smart enough to buy a brand new cessna, this is like those above their means car youtubers who buy a bugatti veyron for less than a million, and then realize the car needs 40 thousand dollar each custom high speed tyres and wheels every 6 months, or your local neighborhood retard who bought a used jaguar and then discovered why they go from 100 grand to 20 in just 5 years.
8 million is sizeable chunk of his wealth, and there's 2.5-3 million in fixed costs now per year.
I asked chatgpt what sort of business he could had built up with 8 million upfront and 3 million in expenses in a year in the same area and it used the example of a asian owned tofu junk food factory, lol.

I think this is big, i mean LOTY, career ending big, this could be it.
Will he starve? nope, will he need to live in a tiny house with a nagging wife and having to return heated socks?, maybe.
Linus could be the dark horse in this year's race with this stunt alone, he's the sleeper miata of lolcows now.

This guy opened his video with a bunch of selfies. It actually changed my mind and I'm glad Linux is a piece of shit who underpays his employees.

I hate this guy, why would he do this to me?

1769743872939.png

Then he goes on to talk about how his ADHD means he doesn't like to leave projects unfinished. Because of course this guy has brain damage and a -20 IQ debuff. Next he pivots into quitting his job "in search of something better for my family" and shares his fur babies. It's like this guy was custom made in a very gay lab specifically to make me mad.

imagine having such an easy fallback to excuse your jewish behavior. conservatives never have it so easy.

Fair enough, but at 5-8 million there's a fuckton better options:
6166eef938c19600182f9dc0.webpHondaJet-Elite-II-CarScoops.jpg
Honda jet II, it's so easy to fly it's type rated for a single pilot and has a automatic emergency landing system, so even his kids can press the big red button and see it land autonomously, he could probably get a type rating on it fast too, and it's 600k a year in costs, he can scrape 143k of that number if he learns to fly it himself
(which would be a gigantic flex and enough content for 10-20 1 hour videos of him learning to fly and then training for it, first flight and then flying the family to disneyland or somes shit, he could really milk the shit out of that).
images (8).jpgimages (9).jpg
Citation CJ3, again only 1.3 mil a year to run vs the 3 mil old fossil, can go for as low as 3.5 mil for the purchase cost, still big enough for him and his entire family or the key staff to fly to 2000 miles, if he flies from Gander he can go to europe on it, again it's easy to fly and he could get a type rating for it in a couple years.
Both are also far easier to lease out, so he could actually make some money out of them.
He really should have cashed out when that guy offered to buy LTT. He might protest that he's protecting his creative freedom from corporate takeover or whatever, but it's clear to everyone that he's just such a faggot now.
Doug demuro sold old to investors and he now does whatever the fuck he wants including podcasts where he shits on brand new cars that gets him blacklisted from press events or ads, and all he needs to do is spend 10 seconds of his intro shilling his own ebaycars equivalent whilst having a growing collection of vintage porsches in his garage.

Everyone else in the car youtube world is despairing over debts that even their gambling ads can't cover, like hoovies or whistling diesel.
Remember retards, when someone comes with a 20 million bag of cash to take your shitty youtube channel/business and he will keep you as a paid employee and listen to your editorial decisions, you take it.

Unless I'm retarded, it sounded like he begun work there at the age of 15 and he's now 25. He opened by claiming he's worked there for half of his life. 25/2 is about right (2.5 years extra).
At 15, this guy had no degree and didn't go to college. He's a high school dropout. The purchasing power of CAD in Canada is the same as USD in USA so just a 1:1 would do. He's making 90k tops, which doesn't afford him a home in a city like Vancouver. His partner needs to be making at least 70k too. If they have kids, a 2 bedroom apartment is pushing it. They'll need a 3 bedroom. $1.2 million+? Lol. Nah.

LTT is already soulless corporate goyslop. They'll suffer from further brain drain and it's deserved.

If you're making 90k you might be able to afford a studio apartment with some amenities in a town close to Vancouver like Surrey(AKA Jeetville) or New Westminster(A bunch of old white people and homeless schizos), but you'd be fucked if you were trying to rent in Vancouver itself, especially if you're doing that for two people. This isn't just Linus being a cheapskate, or Jake being shit with money or trying to rent in one of the most expensive cities in Canada, it's both.

lol of course tranthony had to butt in
IMG_3245.jpeg
Rich coming from the guy who left LTT to just scam people on patreon but I imagine hearing Anthony say working for LTT sucked is gonna make Linus mad.

okay SO i know ppl get a bit aggressive when someone suggests that their favorite lolcow might not be as retarded as originally thought, but here goes

i don't follow this guy, but i was spitballing with ANALR in chat and he mentioned how bad with money linus is and cited a fuckton of expensive cameras and while I understand blowing money on gadgets he can play with, the camera thing didn't make much sense to me

so here's my theory: i think the cameras are purely a tax/grant thing that a talented jew on staff came up with to make his shitty little youtube business qualify as a film studio. he might even get incentives from red themselves, like netflix.

supposedly he also did content for that youtube prime program too, it would be easy enough to show some random canuck government dweeb his youtube originals video and how he's actually filmmaker instead of techbro and rake in the benefits

i'm sure he still wastes plenty of money, but considering he can write off basically every piece of tech he buys as a business expense, it might not be quite as bad as it seems. could be his wife is his tard wrangler and gives him an allowance that he can waste however he likes.

anyway, food for thought. be sure to comment and subscribe if you enjoyed my take and SMASH that Like button!!

I dont get it, he goes on and on about capitalism and greed, but for what ever reason does not want to give a legacy employee what he CLEARLY deserves? Maybe i am not business minded enough but the dude has three houses tf:story:
That's how *all* of these rich "anti-capitalism" asshats are. All of them could retire right now and not "work" another day in their lives while everyone around them can't afford a hovel to call their own while they scree "MUH CAPITALISM BAD".

I hate all of them.

Linus is, in a word, retarded.

You DO NOT BUY a jet if your net worth is under $100 million USD or really under ~$200-$250 million USD.

The literal billionaire I used to work for has 2 jets and his net worth was something like $1.2 billion IIRC.

Most rich people just charter jets via Nextjet or similar as it's WAY cheaper than the care and feeding on a fucking airplane. Unless you HAVE to have near 24/7 access to a private jet, just charter than damn thing. Most charters can get you in the air inside of 36 hours and 99% of the time 24 hours and some places even inside of 12 hours.

Linus is married to a penny pinching chink so you bet he was getting paid the bare minimum that they can legally get away with in Canada.
What's the minimum in Canada for some tech support guy? I guess he gets paid 5% more. He said infrastructure and IT work, and that LTT denied his request for a wage increase.

My guess would be 76-77k.

The average price for a 2 bedroom apartment in Vancouver is 730-850k (Canadian).
https://condos.ca/vancouver/2-bedroom-apartments-for-sale?beds=2-2,2.1-2.9
His 77k isn't going to afford him a home in Vancouver, period. It's not even fucking close. He'll have to make double that assuming a 5%-10% deposit, and assuming they're paying him slightly above the average wage.

If he wants to own a home, he needs to get the fuck out of Vancouver. 150k a year is high income, dude's 25 and by 35 he's not gonna make 150k a year in a stagnant job.
Lmao that penny pinching Asian woman is probably 99% of the reason Linus is buying a 30+ year old clapped out jet ..... Pure social status signalling to her status obsessed Chinese family.

They'll take that gwailo for everything he's Worth.

Ehh it's a smelly French jet. NGL in private jet land, they're all pretty similar except for the only true flex..... Being able to stand upright in the cabin. Older private jets and some of the newer small ones are SMALL. As in, an adult literally can't stand up all the way in the cabin. Old Gulfstreams, Learjets, and Citations are like that.

Newer jets all have much larger cabins unless they're designed or be small and cheap.

Lol and Doug isn't a fucking weirdo like that disgusting regular car reviews homosexual or the perpetually asshurt wannabe Canuk at Savage Geese.

He presents as reasonably "folksy" and Cars and Bids was worth enough for get him a solid 8 figure payout plus a salary afterwards.

i'm sure he still wastes plenty of money, but considering he can write off basically every piece of tech he buys as a business expense, it might not be quite as bad as it seems
People really need to start learning what the fuck tax write offs are. They don't make something free. You don't just say "Well this was free now, no reason not to buy it!". It lowers the cost, on average, by 20%, if it fits into your overall tax threshold to begin with. If it doesn't, you can't even claim it as a write off anyway.

And yes, a business the size of LTT was surely hitting their tax write off threshold already. And if they weren't, then wasteful spending on cameras just meant they couldn't use it for something else.

you only see people who actually need to fly to several dozen countries a year like musicians or sport stars actually owning one, everyone else just charters one.
Even among F1 drivers it's quite rare to have their own private jets because they're so retardedly expensive to own and they're travelling to ~25 races a year while making $20-100M/year

i don't follow this guy, but i was spitballing with ANALR in chat and he mentioned how bad with money linus is and cited a fuckton of expensive cameras and while I understand blowing money on gadgets he can play with, the camera thing didn't make much sense to me
He gets money from the Canadian government he has mentioned it several times and its at end of every video, still doesn't justify the money waste on buying the most expensive shit when hes making static shot shitty youtube videos that pretty much any camera could do.

Always satisfying to see Linus suffer. He may not be the worst person in the tech industry, but he sure is the most annoying.

Reasons why Jake quit in his own video.

tl;dw
- Projects had too limited time to complete, never properly finished
- Production hell with too many heads and delegation issues
- Low pay, "working on bosses 3rd house"
Damn yo I can't believe everything everyone hypothesized about in this thread turned out to be pretty much accurate.
Good thing Linus came on here to tell us how wrong people were.

Yeah, I can totally see him getting butthurt over Linus building yet another house for himself while he’s getting peanuts. But if you’re in your early 20s and can afford two V10 BMWs and keep them running, then maybe your money situation isn’t that bad. Please get your priorites straght or at least don’t whine about not being able to afford a house when you’re buying money pits like these.
those cars arent his, he has a side job as a mechanic working on them. they belong to a customer who i guess might be a friend of his. he said so in the video
edit: my bad one of them is his i guess? the other one isnt

I had family members in the 1980s try to do that shit.

If it floats, flies, or fucks. You will lose money.

I m sorry but with houses Canadian real estate, pickel ball courts, media, companies and now a jet.

I m thinking he has to be laundring money for someone
