Why do you believe them until their pov aligns with yours and only then think they're being truth? I agree MJ is probably a paedophile and I still don't believe them regardless of whether it fits my bias because it doesn't fit the facts and evidence.

To answer your question though, when MJ was alive they could continue to milk him and appeal to him. It's a lot easier to appeal to single person who thinks they're your friend than an estate made up of a board of people who likely only see you as a leech.
