I’m curious if TLJ will affect this film’s box office and whether it’ll fuck Lionsgate.
If not TLJ, maybe the fact that the film pisses off Trump voters and RJ posit off people on Twitter maybe a issue.I wouldn't be surprised if the controversy over TLJ ended up helping the film.
I sincerely doubt the film will be a financial disaster. Its budget is purported to be around $40 million, so its almost impossible that it will not turn a profit with the marketing, star power and distribution Lionsgate put in place.
I'm glad he's finally making something that was intended as a comedy from the outset, but I'd be lying if I said it looked all that funny in this trailer.
I'm going to be blunt but you're an idiot if you think most people care about the political views of those working on movies beyond those who deliberately want to look into it, and most people do not even use Twitter. If not TLJ, maybe the fact that the film pisses off Trump voters and RJ posit off people on Twitter maybe a issue.

Not saying this movie is good but you have to be delusional if Rian Johnson's political views will turn normal people off.
Yes because anyone who disagrees with someone over the idea that people won't see a movie because Rian said things about Trump voters is clearly a liberal.Ah, the fabled "normal people" who happen to have the exact same opinions of those attempting to speak for them.
Rich really does look like Rian. Is their something he’s not telling us?
I think he's a good director but goes off the rails when he's allowed to write or delve too far into the creative process. Same mistake they made when they decided to let Lucas or Abrams get their hands into every single part of production. To give him some credit, I think that RJ is really strong in terms of directing. He directed some of the best episodes of Breaking Bad, and the shot composition was one of the few things I didn't dislike about TLJ.
I wanna believe he was just a poor fit for Star Wars, but this isn't looking too promising.
That's exactly how I feel, and part of the reason why I haven't completely written this off yet. Brick and Looper were entertaining, and he directed some of the best episodes of Breaking Bad. I'm hoping that TLJ was just a misstep in an otherwise solid career, though some of the humor from what I've read sounds pretty cringe.I think he's a good director but goes off the rails when he's allowed to write or delve too far into the creative process. He's always been a solid director, he just fucked up badly with TLJSo Rian Johnson made a solid film. What a surprise! ...to all the people who have only ever seen The Last Jedi.
