I didn't expect to learn about arousal templates and to read a debate about the societal decay associated with the proliferation of pornography on the website where I come to laugh at retards, but here I am.

This is an interesting subject, and I'm curious to continue following it to see where it goes.

Just because celebrities have sex tapes doesn't mean you should be imitating them
I remember when all those celebrities' iCloud accounts were hacked and there was tons of celebrity porn all over the 'net, and I was shocked by just how common it seemed among the celeb set. Then I was doubly shocked when the thinkpieces started rolling out with the tone of: "How would YOU feel if YOUR phone pictures were leaked?!" implying that even regular everyday people were probably walking around with naked pictures of themselves on their phones. That's abnormal behavior! How did it possibly become so common?!

I can say for sure that people have "amature porn" on their devices of themselves and loved ones (or just the girl of the month in their Tindr rotation). GI's wives used to send them polaroid photos of themselves in risque clothes or in the nude, so it's not the fault of internet, though media influence has exacerbated it, I'm sure. The celebrities all having nudes is, in hindsight, not surprising. I could make a whole schizopost about this, but I suspect a lot of children's shows from Disney or Nickelodeon were geared to funnel fame-hungry kids to Hollywood. Knowing what we know now about people like Weinstein and Schneider, it doesn't surprise me in the least that celebrities are secretly degenerate. When you uproot, leave your life behind, and survive the Californian economy until you land an audition, you're so sunk into your dream that when they say they need an actor who will "do what it takes", you'll do almost anything. Once the barriers of what you're willing to do come down, a few nude selfies are just "normal".

I think a big part (if not all) of the blame for that lies with the parents 💔

I agree. I see nothing wrong with just naked photos on their own, or even of romantic erotic drawings/books (as long as they're not pushing kinks like diaperfaggotry). I am mainly making this thread to criticize the porn INDUSTRY, as in shit like PornHub/OnlyFans. I don't even see anything wrong with amateur-made porn between an actual couple. But I want to criticize the Bonnie Blue extreme types of porn. Maybe I should rename it to "Kiwis Against Degeneracy" or "Kiwis Against Sexual Hedonism"? I think Zoomers are severely fucked up with how they have been brainwashed by social media into thinking whoring around is in any way normal or psychologically healthy. I believe part of the reason Zoomers are all single is because they were raised on porn and all want to beat each other up during sex or have sociopathic "open relationships" gaslighting each other over natural feelings of sexual jealousy when someone else fucks their spouse.
This is the correct, nuanced, and non-puritanical take on this matter. There's nothing wrong with exchanging intimate photos with a committed partner that you trust, erotic art that doesn't delve into anything deviant I don't think is harmful either.

Though I have some disagreement concerning amateur porn made between actual couples; the line between amateur content and professional porn industry content has been made incredibly vague with the rise of creator-focused platforms like OnlyFans. Many of these creators work with agencies but maintain the illusion of being amateurs. Take this for what you will as this is just my own "bro science", but I don't think watching other people having sex is natural or healthy and that even "vanilla" content by actual couples has potential for harm. All porn is cuckold porn if you really think about it.

Beyond the damage it does to the consumer, its incredibly exploitive to the people involved in making it. Bear in mind this studio isn't unique in its practices, this was just one that was so excessive it was criminal.

Edit: I think Kiwis Against Pornography is the best title for what I think you're going for. Degeneracy is real, but like the words "woke" or "Marxist" its meaning has degenerated (lol) to the point that people use it for anything they don't like.

I was contemplating a healthy use case for porn, just because I'm always playing devil's advocate with myself. The best I came up with was for a married couple to use porn to inspire novelty in their love life. The problem with this is that almost all the porn out there is made for a spectator, not as two lovers' exploration of each other. There are some funny cases, like the "this isn't the beach this is a bathtub," scene that could give married people some fun ideas to try instead of going through the motions of wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am. I've never been married, so I can't say whether or not this is a good idea. I suspect that a marriage in need of help will not be revitalized by emulating porn, but a marriage with an abundance of love and trust might benefit from it, even if it's just as a confirmation that they don't need to do depraved acts to love and feel loved. Does anyone have any feedback on this?

My wife and I's perspective, and I understand its conservative compared to most, is that viewing pornography when you are in a relationship is infidelity. I don't feel that there's a solid argument to be made as to why watching porn is acceptable but getting nudes from another woman for free is cheating. Professionalism doesn't change the fact that you're lusting for another woman. That being said, every couple has its boundaries and I'm not saying ours is "correct" for everyone.

From a less personal standpoint, I think porn is like alcohol. There is no *good* amount of alcohol to consume, its inherently harmful, but most people can have a few drinks now and then and not become full on alcoholics, But for some people its never just one drink, its the first drink of a binge.

To be honest, my first advice would be for them to have a dry spell and spend time away from each other. Maybe pick up a new hobby independent of each other, take a trip, whatever. And then check base with each other again before trying anything else. (I can't think of a worse idea than getting ideas of what to do in the bedroom from modern porn lmao.) Interrupt the banal routine and then come back with a fresher perspective. Basically working on the relationship. Most people do not get bored of sex, they get bored of each other. Nothing will bring back the spice if at the end of the day you've stopped caring who you're doing it with.

If there's already a dry spell because the bedroom is dead I think that's a separate issue and IMO usually points to the relationship realistically being over for at least one of them. Whether or not that means ending the marriage depends on what their beliefs and sunk cost is.

Everything in my life experience and knowing of others' experience is that once people start getting really ambivalent/disinterested in that way it usually means that whatever was there is just not anymore.

Probably not the right place for this response but a lot of people wonder what you're supposed to do in that situation and to be honest my jaded ass doesn't think there's anything to do. Things might be prolonged but then you go right back to being bored with each other again.

Will you just be going over pornography or other things that can be considered pornographic? I think more recently it’s come to light how many women actually read erotica, and I wondered if it had the same negative impacts on the brain as watching actual porn.

🥱The Kink thread was better written and engaging.
Of course a creature that enjoys being hit with a hammer wouldn’t appreciate a thread about the ills of kinks and pornography.

I can't prove it, and this is just personal observation, but I think a lot of young people are being introduced to erotica because of fandom culture. I'm talking about fanfiction. Wattpad, Ao3, etc. Plus (another hunch) I think the vast majority of fanfiction readers and writers are female.

We have also hit a point in fandom culture where you are no longer allowed to criticize bad writing. Back in the day, badfics and the sporkings that followed were huge because there were a lot of shitty stories out there with deranged plots or lack thereof, and a very good portion of them were noted to have badly-written sex, and in most titles, gross sex in general. But now gross sex is normalized and expected in fanfiction, and is praised on top of that.

But only if it's been properly tagged.

I think porn being free to view is just a plot to make men weak in today's society and sexually deviant. Notice how there are so many pedophiles and zoophiles? It's because of porn, plus all the girls I used to know, even at my old Christian private school, were so sexually deviant that it disgusted me, I just hope they ban it or make it behind a paywall so you have to pay to buy it again though people are already addicted to a point that it should just be banned all together

Don't take my ignoring the rest of your post as an insult. Just interjecting a true thing about my life—

Pornography has greatly expanded the range of types of women I find sexually appealing. In a world where you marry your high school girlfriend or someone your mother picked for you—which I would greatly prefer—of course that doesn't matter. Here in clownworld where a guy like me has had hundreds to choose from, it's made me a far kinder person, and may have improved the gene pool slightly.

(I know this is a kinda weird thing to say and it doesn't quite fit with anybody's ideas about what pornography is for or about.)

I don't know if that tracks. The most pedophilic societies tend to be developing countries where its is extremely illegal and frowned upon. Like, the Pakistani rape gangs aren't raping British girls because of pornography.

It does. This video is very much on-topic and deserves a listen.

It's not just you. I attended many private schools of various denominations, have been privy to, and even enjoyed (at the time; nothing that risked infection or pregnancy) certain moral failings. I decided that if I can't find a proper woman who is also okay with me homeschooling my kids, that I simply will live and die alone.

Not at all!

For the sake of painting a more complete picture, I'll also talk about myself and bear the shame for the hope of healthier generations that come after.
Porn has had a similar, but different affect on my tastes. It has shifted and narrowed my preferences. In the same way you get bored of what you've seen and try what you haven't seen, I sought out porn lot in my youth and found out the physical features I find most and least attractive. Among the least attractive features are tattoos and piercings, which seemingly every woman in and out of porn seem to have. I have come to associate the presence of body mods with a damaged psyche and intellectual deficiency, and can't muster any romantic interest for women who have them. I also saw the genre of porn juxtaposed with mundane photos from Facebook and such. I realized that it really can be anyone, photogenic or not, and since I don't scour everything that has ever been uploaded anywhere, I can never truly know if the girl I just smiled at has an OnlyFans or not. Addiction doesn't afflict me, but the end result is the same: I don't approach women, even the gorgeous ones who smile back.

That's an interesting perspective, and it contradicts other reports I've read about the effects of porn on the psyche. Many say that the abundance and accessibility of pornography has the opposite effect -- that it causes people to become more specific and more selective in who they find attractive.

Are you sure that there's a cause-and-effect relationship at work? Or is it possible that your tastes have simply evolved over time as you yourself have changed and grown?

I can never truly know if the girl I just smiled at has an OnlyFans or not.
The sudden explosion of OnlyFans is fascinating to me. Up until just a decade or so ago, resorting to doing porn was seen as a tremendous failure -- it was often the punchline when talking about an aspiring but untalented actress: that she'd resort to doing porn in no time. It's worrisome that it is now being presented as an empowering option.

What's equally unusual is that after a quarter century of free porn all over the internet, people (mostly men) suddenly decided that they wanted to pay for it in the form of OnlyFans. Why would that be? It's not about the visuals -- it's about the "relationship". You hear stories about guys falling in love with their OnlyFans thots, shelling out to send and receive messages with them (more likely some overseas call center or even just an AI chatbot) or finding their kid's teacher's account and getting off on the prospect of seeing something that they think they're not meant to see.
These guys could see boobs anywhere -- what they're paying for is even more unhealthy.

We should perform exterminatus on the porn industry CEOs, outlaw the stuff forever, and hunt down those that choose to oppose this doctrine with extreme prejudice.

An empire falls because of this sort of stupid ass hubris, I believe some of this is to blame why the country feels like it’s in so much turmoil today.

Adding onto my own post about fandom culture's link to erotica:
I think that AI roleplay/erp has recently became a huge thing too. I've seen too many young mentally ill girls addicted to this. They seek love from their "comfort characters", which turns sexual way too easily. https://kiwifarms.st/threads/the-ai-girlfriend-boyfriend-community.227545/
Also "audios" which are like asmr roleplay I guess? People impersonating a character's voice in a sexy or romantic tone or scenario, sometimes fetishy.

Someone should invent some kind of mind altering medication that drastically suppresses sexual desire and can inhibit sex addiction in general.

This would help lots of guys dealing with porn addiction, it would basically be like Ozempic but for porn addicts than food addicts.
