I recommend MauLer review of it, not perfect but it covers everything

Here, incase anybody doesn't know who MauLer is:

And it is quite a good analysis. I had actually forgotten about Site B, among many other things from the original trio of movies. They should have left the franchise alone after the first.

I have a question: Did they retcon 2 and 3 with the first Jurassic World? I remember hearing or reading that was the case

Honestly, the entire JP franchise is kinda overrated. The movies are decent distractions, but nothing to write home about IMO. I’ll probably see this at some point though, but probably not in theaters unless I go on Cheap Tuesday (which is what they do where I’m from).

eeeeeeeeeehhh not exactly. On screen they ignored these events, but in "official tie in material" they hired a bunch of fanboys to link up the stories and shit, which resulted in the plot holes and random shit in Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 being retconned into playing mostly minor but sometimes major parts of background lore, I.e. the Spinosaurus in 3 was basically a proto I-Rex which was spliced with other dinosaur DNA and then released into the wild to see how deadly it was in the aftermath of the T-rex rampage in San Diego which made the concept of "militarised dinosaurs" extremely attractive for investors. This retroactively explains why there was that unexplained Lab Complex in that part of the island, and the line about Spinosaurus "not being on Ingen's list" since it was a blackops thing.

I just saw this yesterday and I've got to say this: Please see this movie!
It was the funniest shit I've ever seen! The movie was so fucking dumb I was laughing my ass of the whole 2 hours. (I was lucky I didn't run into any cops. They'd probably think I was on something) You get people talking about the dinos like they're human beings, so much unecessary and over the top action it'll make Michael Bay proud and actors who somehow manage to play and deliver all lines completely straight.

It's currently got a 52 on metascore, and a 59% on RT.

The basic consensus of most of the reviews, seems to imply this series is on track as the Transformers movies. Only really worth it if you know you're going to get cool CGI setpieces with a cool CGI concept (dinosaurs instead of robots this time) and some comic relief by one or two big name actors... other than that absolutely bereft of any other cinematic quality or substance.

I have movie pass so I'll see it anyway.

Mmmmmmm I sure love realism in my sci-fi. The next film (you know as hell there's a third one) is going to be less sci-fi schlock and more political drama with dinosaurs! At the rate the franchise is going, Blue's going to give an emotional speech before the House and Senate advocating for dinosaur rights. (Seriously, I can't be the only one who saw Blue shed a tear in that one scene. Like lmao I thought I was imagining it, but my parents and brother caught it, too, so we were making fun of it on the way home.)

I actually chuckled when the Indoraptor broke the elevator with its tail, like it shouldn't have been funny, but it was. The obligatory "clever girl" scene just moments prior was also pretty fun. Like I was just smirking with the dino it's so fucking cheesy, but it's nice to see some guy get his arm bitten off and swallowed, even with minimal blood.

I like Maisie as a character tbh, but the revelation of her being a clone was so laughably stupid that it pretty much vindicated my autistic thoughts from earlier with the reveal of the Indoraptor and its purpose of existence in that it was literally Mewtwo's origins, except the clone of Amber Fuji survived. Given she's now with Owen and Claire, she's definitely going to be in the third film, and who knows what her role will be. I'd be shocked if she doesn't have dino DNA in her.

Oh, and I may have looked too hard into it, but I caught that wink-wink-nudge "I'm not compatible" comment by the one dude to Owen. Like that whole "Owen is [drift] compatible with Raptors" joke is Internet-made, yes? Just making sure.

Anyway, it's dumb fun. I'm a little glad they weren't on the island that whole time, but there could've been so much more to the setting to give it a grander scale. I'm surprised the T-Rex was (wisely) put on the sidelines.

Agree. As a certified expert on Jurassic Park, I was pleasantly surprised by the last one and it delivered well enough after the 14 year wait that I was hoping they wouldn't rush into a fifth movie and spoil things. Obviously they did though but hopefully this new one doesn't get too overindulgent or anything.

I have some issues of course, and I'm reeeeally not looking forward to the next one after the ending, but I liked it a lot more than I expected. I thought it'd be terrible (and maybe it was for many of you), but I did like it for the most part.

Can't remember if he said "I'm" or "we're," but I took it as him saying that he -- some computer geek -- and badass Owen would be incompatible or unable to relate with each other.

It's gotta be awkward in the Howard family right now. Ron's Solo movie did crap business (for a Star Wars flick) and Fallen Kingdom is doing pretty well (don't know how the budgets compare).

I like to imagine Bryce Dallas Howard called up her dad and said this simple sentence:

I haven't seen the film and I'm not sure if I will, but after reading a bunch of spoilers it seems like my biggest fears have come to light. On it's own it's a somewhat decent monster flick, but it's just not Jurassic Park at all.

I doubt Jurassic World 3 will be like Jurassic Park 3 in the sense that it was clearly not as good as the first JP but in my opinion not as bad as the second one

I saw the after-credits, pterodactyls were flying around the replica of the Eiffel tower in Las Vegas, so i'm making the prediction they learned nothing and in the next film there will be so many dinos that Lost Kingdom will look tame in comparison, the little retarded girl clone somehow has dino dna, the main guy will be useless and the true heros will be the female humans and dinos.

They are going to triple down
