Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Hamilton was the most authoritarian type of all the 1776 bunch, so maybe that's why. He was also a lolcow and got called one all the time, which is kind of amazing for the time. He came through by challenging Aaron Burr, a man with actual familiarity with weapons, to a duel, over an 18th century thot. Hamilton had to be told how to shoot a firearm and was given plenty of chances to back out but he insisted and was promptly fatally shot by Burr. He's the last historical figure I'd memorialize, just because he was so ridiculous.
Don't forget dueling was illegal at the time, so according to the law Aaron Burr flat-out committed murder. Not a single person had the balls to even think about arresting him though despite warrants being issued. Did I mention he was Veep at the time and fucked off back to D.C. where he acted like nothing happened?

And this is how the Museum of American Finance has decided to commemorate the man for his contributions to American banking: shooting dead Alexander Hamilton. He also founded what would become Chase Manhattan, but that's really a minor footnote compared to everything else he's done.

Basically, yeah.
When Japan invaded China, America put an oil embargo on Japan. This meant that Japan's armed forces would run out of oil relatively quickly because there are basically no oil fields anywhere near Japan. Japan had to figure out some way of dealing with this oil crisis or it would eventually lose the war, because the way Japanese troops acted in China (case in point; the Rape of Nanking) meant that a peaceful solution to its war with China was impossible.

The whole reason Pearl Harbour happened was because Japanese strategy was based around a thing called the "Decisive Battle Doctrine". This was basically the belief that:
1) Japan could take out a lot of the American fleet at Pearl Harbour,
2) The Imperial Navy could defeat the US Navy in one big battle and this would allow Japan to take Hawaii and cut US supply lines in the Pacific
3) Once the US fleet had been destroyed twice and Hawaii had been taken, Roosevelt would realise that resisting Glorious Nippon (tm) was impossible and would sue for peace, giving Japan Hawaii, lifting the embargo and basically giving Japan a free hand in the Pacific.

This was an incredibly naive thing for Japan to believe because it was based around the expectation that Roosevelt would do exactly what the Japanese wanted him to do and allow the IJN to beat the shit out of the USN. Once Roosevelt decided not to do that and started to wage a war of attrition against Japan, Japan had essentially lost the war. To a certain extent, Roosevelt wanted war with Japan because the Japanese Empire was a threat to American interests, but I don't think he wanted a disaster on the level of Pearl Harbour.
There's a bit more sperging about how all the ultra-nationalists in the Army Japan basically exiled to Korea and Manchuria as part of the Kwantung Army so they couldn't start shit at home (oops) wound up doing whatever the fuck they wanted to the point of starting shit with both Russia and China (Khalkin Ghol and the Marco Polo Bridge Incident), but yes, the Japanese plan was to knock out most of the Pacific fleet at Pearl, then utilize their superior destroyers and torpedoes to attrit away at US screening elements, then engage in a massive, decisive surface engagement against a worn down, unprotected US battlefleet somewhere around Midway. Unfortunately for them they missed the carriers, and FDR was a major aviation sperg who demanded MORE CARRIERS and MORE AIRPLANES whenever he thought he had the political sway for it. So our carrier fleet was tasked with the job instead, a job nobody was really sure it was up for since Bismarck was merely crippled by naval aviation and Prince of Wales was sunk by land-based planes.

People either forget or just don't know that in the early part of the war before the US carrier fleet demonstrated the effectiveness of naval aviation (mostly because they were the only modern capital ships we had on hand to deploy against Japan) the prevailing thought among all the naval powers was that carrier planes would serve the same fleet role as destroyers: expendable scouts capable of launching risky, near-suicidal attacks on much larger vessels. Even the attack on Pearl Harbor was based on the idea of them being sneaky ambushers much like destroyers, incapable of sustaining an attack on aware, readied assets by themselves. Midway was the first battle in which the main combatants never laid eyes on each other's capital ships. Ultimately the Japanese battleships played no part for a variety of reasons, and it would not be until the sinking of Yamato in 1945 during Operation Ten-Go that a fully modern battleship would be sunk by purely naval aviation assets with no support from land-based or surface combatants.

As for the outcome of Ten-Go:

That was pretty much the entire IJN at that point.

EDIT: Despite such a massive airborne force being deployed against such a relatively small surface fleet, the admiral in charge on the US side (Spruance) assembled a surface action group of three South Dakotas, three Iowas, as well as 7 cruisers (including two Alaska-class totally-not-battlecruisers) plus 21 destroyers juuust in case. Yamato was deader than Hitler's dreams of a Thousand Year Reich the minute we knew where she was.

January 6th was my second 9/11
January 6th was my 30 years war.
January 6th was my Oblivion crisis
January 6th was the american equivalent of the great australian emu war...at least in terms of the level of autism involved
January 6th was my Horus Heresy.
And the RINO Traitor Legions, starting with Fucking Zodiac are gonna learn how it feels to have their shit pushed in!

If you honestly polled the nation in October 2020 you'd get the same percentage thinking Biden would be "elected" for the first time.

Which reminds me of something that has bothered me this past year. How I went through most of 2019 and 2020 without seeing ANY Biden/Harris shit in heavily blue cities (like Chicago) or Florida or anywhere I went ( my job makes me travel), and once the "election was declared" thanks to "our Democracy" suddenly you see all these shitlibs with stickers, signs, and posters celebrating. Fucking cunts.
It's just reflective of the fact that most of them were not voting for Biden, they were voting against Trump. Biden was the one choice left to them because everyone else was either polling horrible or was radioactive for mainstream establishment candidacy like Sanders. The man can't even unify his own party beyond the most simplistic of influence on their minds, making them vaguely pissed off at something. It's one of the main reasons they keep beating the muh insurreckshun garbage and talking about charging trump which they'll never do without kicking off a potential civil war. They know they have no legal avenue to arrest him and they know January 6 was tamer than a lot of soccer riots but they want to keep that familiar enemy ever present in the dour and tiny minds of the followers. But the followers are increasingly starting to wonder if paying more for everything forever and never having a representative government again is actually a worthwhile price to get rid of orange man and his mean tweets.

Cruz is courting the Trump wing by repeatedly calling them terrorists?
I think he's hoping people will just forget about these sorts of things whenever he decides to run for President. And by the way, Tucker was totally right. "Act of terrorism" was not a slip of the tongue whatsoever, and I'm glad Tucker pressed Cruz on that.

Politicians - on all sides, but especially the GOP - need to have everything they say or do closely scrutinzed and questioned because it's about damn time people started asking why we elect swamp critters who say one thing and do another. Or sometimes just say one thing and then say another thing.

Uhhhh based Tucker alert???
0-aCLe8r6mBPbrWt.mp4
TUCKER: "You called this a terror attack, when by no definition was it a terror attack, that's a lie. And you told that lie on purpose, and I'm wondering why you did?"

CRUZ: "Well, thank you Tucker for having me on when you aired your episode last night - I sent you a text shortly thereafter and said 'Listen, I'd like to go on because...' The way I phrased things yesterday, it was sloppy, and it was frankly dumb-"

TUCKER: "I don't buy that! Woah woah woah, I don't buy that! Look, I've known you a long time since before you went to the Senate, you were a Supreme Court contender, you take words as seriously as any man who's ever served in the Senate. And every word- you repeated that phrase, I do not believe you used that accidentally. I just don't."
I'm so glad we have Tucker Carlson here to call out the bullshit. He is truly an irreplaceable man.

Cruz knows this could become a real PR fuckup, which is why he's backtracking and coming to Tucker's show begging to be let off the hook. Sentiment towards RINOs is looking very ugly right now and it seems like they're going to go the way of the dino. Not the DINO though, Manchin still has a fruitful and lively political career ahead of him.

because tea leaves was like they said it was tucker read correctly the room.
Cruz statement feed the swap not the normie.
Cruz backtrack is absolute beta .
even though american attention span is 1 to 2 days on one big issue to switchfocus and forgice Cruz.
Cruz should own that you Senator was blacklisted from some parties for dareing to go against bidden at first & cucking.
the only person smelling like roses from the swamp is Mike penis for heal turn & not answer the question court asked how you would vote & lied say its my choice not people choice to know.

I live in Silicon Valley, techbro cuck central, and in the Deeply Fun Election Thread I mentioned that on walking around my neighborhood I saw exactly one Biden sign (and no Trump signs) the entire election. One! And when I drove up to Clearlake in 2021, tons of people already had Trump 2024 flags. My county went 20% for Trump and I want to remind everyone that Zuckerberg lives here and tons of people are openly granola hippie commie gay tranny queers. This is literally ground nobody would even bother cheating on (my wife volunteered to count ballots) and while we're not going to flip red, we're nowhere near as strongly blue as we should be

I honestly thought Cruz was smarter than this. He lost two presidential runs (badly) with the cucked nice guy compassionate conservative act.

He really really really fucked up here. Every Republican candidate in 2024 including Trump is going to be playing sound clips of him calling flyover Americans terrorists. It takes a special kind of fuck up to nuke their own campaign two years in advance.

What a moron.

Backtracking like this is the worse you could probably do, better to just say
"i succumbed to peer pressure, i shouldn't had called the 6th january protestors "terrorist" "
At least that would be honest, saying "i didn't meant that you got it wrong" just makes you look like you'd change your opinion as soon as someone from the opposite team gave you a stern look

I guess no force in the universe can stop a RINO from cucking.
To be fair, I give him a lot of credit for immediately going on Tucker to beg forgiveness, despite my shitting on him. He knows the best thing he can do is suck it up and say "yes I was being retarded". He's a RINO cuck and I'm sorry I mistook him for kind of based, but this was his smartest play

It was my burning of the Westfold. Where were the Capitol Police when the barricades fell?
