How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

This weekend I was with family. There was a kid there that was under 12. The family let her just pull up whatever she wanted to off the internet and onto the TV. She was watching some of the most fucking annoying story time shit on TV. Most vapid garbage I had ever seen.

Figured it might just be an age thing. I could recall when my parents didn't get why I liked stuff like pokemon and thought it was trash. They were really verbal about it and I hated that. So I didn't want to judge. Everyone else went off to do other stuff in the house. Leaving just me and her. I noticed the video started to loop. Exact same 45 min long video of blathering dumb ass shit starting over AGAIN. I reach down and grab the remote form her and said "Ok, time for something good."

I switch it over to the horror movies portion and immediately start searching for "The thing." Sadly YouTube is LAME and makes you rent or buy it instead of having it for free.

Her response to me looking up an R rated horror movie?

Her "I dont know if I can watch that."
Me "Why not"
Her "I don't think my parents would like that."
Me" You're ten and they gave you a smart phone. Fuck em."
Her" Oh......."
Me "they don't have the thing.....ever seen War of the Worlds?"

We then proceeded to watch war of the worlds and had a blast. She learned not to hit strange space rocks with a shovel. It was fun.

Finally bossed up enough to recognize I can't do all of everything myself all the time and in every situation, so set ego and stubbornness aside and consulted a pro. Feels good, man.

Unfortunately, step 2 is interviewing more/ different types of professionals to work my way through some thorny things. But today's meeting confirmed that my assessment was correct and that that's my path. Clarity, even if not very pleasant, or full of tasks I'd prefer not to have, is a good thing.

it is SO HOT.
i avoid sunlight like the plague, and i guess that has made me even less resistant, but i hate it.
im already trying to think of some nice things to sew for the fall/winter, however.
i love tweed/wool plaids, and at least at this time of the year, they are less expensive, i guess.

Hope is a difficult one. There is a very fine line between hope grounded in reality, and delusion. The former seems to be positive and the latter will destroy you. I don’t seem to be able to find that line.
My opinion of hope is that it's an incredibly dangerous thing. It only brings crushing pain and disappointment. I try not to be a pessimistic person, but when the worst thing that can happen always happens, it's hard to stay positive. I don't hope anymore because it only causes suffering.

Got some very overdue maintenance scheduled for my new car next week, my finances are going to be pretty tight and I might need to get another small payday loan from the Bank of Mom and Dad.

I'm feelin' fine, which does remind me that it takes months and months of everything going well for me to feel on top of things and content, but only a couple of bad days for it to all fall to shit.
