I find it odd people have simply dismissed it as "woke" propaganda when there is more going on.
I'm not watching a show that tries to claim serious concerns with "the rise of white supremacy" in 2019 (
please) are in any way comparable to fears of nuclear genocide during the Cold War. And I'm not watching a Moore-free sequel (or prequel) to Watchmen no matter what.
There's a lot of talented people working on this, so I don't suspect it's pure shit. I'm sure it's mechanically fine, well-paced, and I'm sure it's shot well and the acting is great. I've liked most of Lindelof's work over the years, too. I'm in the minority here, but I think he's a pretty good writer.
But I'm tired of being preached to by delusional identitarian victimhood addicts who
always claim the sky is falling no matter how good they have it. Anyone who has watched anything from Hollywood has had to overlook, to some degree, retarded progressive politics in their entertainment, sure, but I'm not wasting my time on a show that fails to understand
anything about Watchmen, merely using the brand as a stage from which to virtue signal and lecture the audience about the irrelevant nonsense the writers hallucinate about in their race-obsessed shitlib social bubbles while they parade token black actors around to make themselves feel good. This is cynical IP abuse. I'll be okay without the neato Watchmen easter eggs.
Let us know if the show concludes that the American left has gone entirely off the edge and is swinging at shadows while claiming to be heroes. I
somehow doubt it will happen.
