Remember in "Seeing Stars" when Blitz told Loona she was shit at her job (which she kinda is), and she responded by beating him up? Even here, she kinda sucks.
Eh, it's part of her character in the same way April O'Neil doesn't give a shit about her job in Parks and Recreation. She's shown to be a hyper competent fighter in D.H.O.R.K.S. and is more than capable of handling things when shit hits the fan.

Pretty much this, Loona's character isn't incompetence, it's apathy. She's better than all of this and she knows it.

Ironically, going by that Nifty musical number, Viv thinks anime is just some cutesy fad and not a viable enterntainment market. That tracks with her utter disdain of anything that isn't 2013 Tumblr core.

Most of the response I've seen from people is freaking out over Stolas being in there.

The funny part is he's actually not that bad in the short, but the respone from the fandom just makes his existence in the short annoying.
Honestly Stolas is actually decent when he isn't the subject of the worst romance and angst known to man which is unfortunately 95% of his screentime.

He is a character that clearly works better in a purely comedic context

I am admittedly not the biggest fan of Hazbin but I do love Alastor.

Snazzy dresser. Trolls everyone for fun. Evil and loving it. Menacing despite his clowning. Radio gimmick is interesting. Deer demon???

I just think he's neat.

Stolas, like many of the characters in Viv's works, would have been decent in a better show.

I wonder if a solider had a needs of the many of needs of the few where would he end up in hell or heaven based on Vivs views

Your rant about Stolas a little too much. Is he like your husbando or something?
Nah, Stella is my waifu.

All jokes aside, I didn't mind Stolas in the short. Believe me, I thought he was going to be more egregious so I am pleasantly surprised that he wasn't. It's more of the people's reaction to him being in the short. And yes, it's my fault for going onto social media to see said reactions, but I do like to see what other people do think on media to see what opinions are similar/different to mine.

And yes I knew that a lot of people were going to talk about the bird, because even when something doesn't have Stolas in it, he is always somehow still going to be brought up. That doesn't make it any less annoying though.

My thoughts exactly. There was a time when I did like Stolas on screen. It's just him always being there and doing the same thing is what made him so tiring to watch.

Similar to Blitzø and his whole shtick, but he at the very least has the excuse of being the main character.

It's strange, it's almost like these characters would work better if they were used in a comedy series, that's mostly comedy. Too bad we have a serious drama. Could you imagine if this show were just 3 seasons of assassination plots and hijinks?

Anyone else smell seething jealousy going by that statement? Can't handle that the land if the rising sun does what she does only better, same goes for the comics v Manga debate.
Honestly this was one of the best shorts they've put out in a while. There were a few funny lines and each character brought their own unique energy to the scene. Blitzø getting his shit kicked in was a nice change of pace from his super cereal and dramatic portrayal in the last few episodes of season 2. I think if the show was just mostly this then it's reception would be a lot less contentious. Vivzie never had a particularly strong concept for Helluva Boss to begin with, as Blitzø, Moxxie and Millie started off as Hazbin side characters. Alas, we all know how creator driven vanity projects go at this point.
Agree but as the comment you replied to said, it's no krusty krab training video. credit where it's due thought, the "training video" concept is such a vague if barley used setup for writing it's hard go say if Viv and co were intentionally trying to be KKTV.

And that's because of one reason: Japan treats its IP with at least some base level of respect.

Sure, it may not prove completely immune (The Mario Galaxy Movie). But even the bad mangas still try to be fun and entertaining. They come up with a premise and stick to it. I can expect fights in a Dragon Ball series. I can expect Pirates in a piece of One Piece media. I can expect a team of five, or a girl squad in Super Sentai/Power Rangers, or a Magical Girl Show. They don't try to subvert my expectations; they don't change the plot halfway through; they sure as hell don't try to make 'their version' of an author's work. They deliver on the concept because if they start to fail, they get shit-canned.

If I watch "Christianity Sucks the Anime" or "Sports Guys Fucking" or "Pathetic Loser goes to Another World and gets all the bitches and is super cool," I get what's in the title.

What do we have here? The boys? Invincible? These shows? Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dr. Who? They either piss on the fans that built the foundations, or whimper about how they didn't have diversity, or shove so much shit into it that it's just a mess. While in Japan, these statements would get an SOB fired or fined, or both.

It's like everyone who's whining about Musk being a trillionaire. It's fucking envy about those who took risks and were successful.

The next time someone says Viv gets shit because she's a woman. Tell them to watch FMA:B or read the manga, because trust me, that's proof women can write, because I struggle to think of a tighter, better-written manga/anime than that.
