Help! I'm a Fish.

I know, I know. Trust me. God, I know. Watching it now that I'm older, it's just pure cheese. But when I was younger I genuinely enjoyed it. It's the movie that got me into art and animation. I also had the biggest crush on the main character, Fly.

The main villain is voiced by Alan Rickman, however. And his character has a full musical number. So that's pretty cool!
 
Ghost Ship. I just love how ridiculous it is, like something written and directed by an edgy teen.

I like the animation in that movie. It reminds me of some of Don Bluth's stuff.

It's become a joke to me and a friend of mine, thanks to the "amazing" human characters and their such "golden" lines of dialogues
"People are dying, we need guns"
"Gotta wear the hat"
"Get to the chopper! now GO GO!"
"Listen asshole, unless you can fly a helicopter i suggest you SHUT THE FUCK UP"
"what is this the titanic? screw the women and children first shit man"
it reminds me of young COD players on xbox live years ago lmao, i could go all day listing all of the hilarious over the top dialogue.
Other than that uh i guess im a sucker for the pred alien and the few seconds we see the predator's home world? (why they didnt make the movie take place there is beyond me)
I also love how everyone making the film talks about the lighting as well feature=youtu.be

Gone With the Wind. It was my grandmother's favorite movie so that's how I first got introduced to it. And I had a huge crush on Clark Gable after watching it. My grandmother even had the cheesy Bradford Exchange collectible plates collection that I inherited when she died and I keep those hidden in the attic because I don't dare display them in my house. Yes, I know it is chock full of racism, but is still one of my favorite movies. I just wouldn't admit it to anyone in real life in current year.
 
Guilty pleasures? My favorite trio of cave people movies:

Caveman (1981).
Prehistoric Women aka Slave Girls (1967).
When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth (1970).

They're not good movies by a long shot. The only reason I like them is because of the lead actresses playing sexy cavewomen.

As far as normal movies go, here's some of my favorites:

not so much guilty pleasures as he’s generally well regarded, but I’m a huge David Lynch fan, and one of the few who seems to genuinely like Inland Empire
 
Most of it is stuff from my teen years, or were part of a franchise that started when I was a teen.

I like the DOA movie because it knows what it is and doesn't make any pretense about trying to be serious. It's dumb fun featuring women fighting in sexy clothes, along with bright colors and some weird sound effects. The plot is stupid but hey.

The Underworld movies. For some, Resident Evil is the guilty pleasure franchise but I could never really get into them. Kate Beckinsale was hotter and a better actress. And since the Matrix is still one of my favorite movies, the era of action movies that came after it trying to rip it off just scratch that little nostalgia itch. I've watched all five at least five times, the first two probably double that. And if they announce a sixth, I'm going to it.

The Super Mario Bros movie. Because it's such a shit show I can't help but enjoy myself.

Inland Empire allows me to understand what watching Twin Peaks: The Return must be like for people who hate it. As an autist, that helps me build empathy for others. Still I did not enjoy the film.

I recently re-watched this and I dunno, I guess this is my limit, apparently I don't enjoy literally any movie where a dude in a mask stabs people. Leprechaun in Space is way better and is the true innovator of the "welp CGI exists now, let's do the next sequel in the future" genre. I don't consider Leprechaun films to be a guilty pleasure however, they are mandatory for understanding how the Irish mind operates.
 
Gonna second Jason X as a guilty pleasure of mine. Then again, I also enjoyed Jason Goes To Hell and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare unironically as well.

I love Ray Harryhausen movies - even the ones that aren't well known. There's something about seeing a stop motion monster that really makes you feel like you're watching something special -an event film. CG just doesn't have the same connotation, probably because it's just a team of workers plugging something into a computer. With stop motion, you really feel that craft and effort has been put into it and that it conforms to a single artist's view, not something that was designed by committee. And because stop motion involves models in meatspace, it feels more tangible as well. I could be biased towards stop-motion because stop motion was a big part of holiday specials back when I was a kid. Even the dregs of Rankin Bass's output felt special way back then because it heralded the coming of Christmas.

I also love cheesy low budget fantasy like the Deathstalker series. I also love Conan the Destroyer despite it being a kid-friendly botch sequel to a badass adult fantasy film. I liked the cast of characters, the more comedic tone and the big rubber monster fight at the end. Yeah, it ruined the tone of the series, but it had it's charm.
