Guilty Pleasure Movies

"Showgirls". I love campy, cheesy, trashy, mindless entertainment...and Gina Gershon.

Scooby Doo and the Ghoul school. Excellent supporting characters, excellent villain (The show really needs to bring Revolta back), Scrappy is actually tolerable and a story that balances comedy, horror, and action. it shows that even when the franchise was at it's most nadir it could still be brilliant.

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. I know it's a piece of shit and an utter trainwreck from just about every angle, and yet I still love watching Kirk, McCoy, and Spock doing their thing, not to mention seeing Shatner at his Shatneriest.

Also God help me I really like Laurence Luckenbill for some reason.

Even unbelievably terrible movies have some redeeming moments. "What does God need with a starship?" is one of those moments.

Any Jurassic Park movie. Just put dinos in a movie and I'll love it.

I have a weird soft spot for Wild Things too. It was trying way too hard to be clever with its twists and turns but I still enjoy it somehow.

Twilight. Only the first movie though, the rest are either boring or give me secondhand embarrassment. There's something about the location they filmed at (Portland, Oregon) that appeals to me, it's moody and gorgeous. I also feel like if this were a stand-alone movie, it'd be a classic cult movie with its silly romance plot, sparkly vampires, weird acting and lore, etc. As it is, it's imo honestly pulled down by the rest of the movies (and fanbase and books tbh). It's something I'd never admit in real life ofc, but every once and a while I like to revisit it.
