I am saying that GTA VI is a bargain, even for $100. It is a statement of objective fact that you get more game for your dollar now than you did back then. You get more value in the form of entertainment for the same price. The original Mario for the NES would be around $77.83 in today's money. But no one would be willing to pay that for a game that simple. Today, for that price, you'd expect GTA VI. And judging by the broke boys in this thread, even that is too expensive. THEY WANT EVEN MORE CONTENT. AND IT SHOULD BE CHEAPER.
Sonic 3 released in the year of our lord 1994 for the princley sum of.... $69.99.
Edit: Sonic 3 is FAMOUSLY half of a game, too. Guess what Sega did? They sold you the first "DLC" for a console game EVER, with the "lock on" cart... for another cool $69.99.

Meaning that the entirety of Sonic 3 cost $140 fucking dollars, IN 1994.

You niggers all forgot that gaming has always been expensive.

Half-Life 2 forcing Steam onto PC players in 2004
I boycotted steam until about 2007 because I still had fucking dial up back then. Trying to find physical copies of games as soon as that happened was a struggle (I have the physical Fallout 3 DLC discs and Games for Windows Live GTA IV discs due to this, tho....)

Always some careless goycattle nigger to rear their ugly head around and say "Erm ACKSHUALLY, gaming has always been heckin' expensive and a luxury. Didn't YOU know simpleton that [X] game from the 90s went for 120 shekels adjusted for inflation?"
smugjak.png

The dollar had infinitely more value in the 90s, games came in-full on fully packaged cartridges with a manual and sometimes other misc stuff which were shipped to retailers with normally no extraneous bullshit, AAA didn't have the too common self-inflicted comically inflated budget issue of today (which should not be passed onto the customers, it's their fault), and games were actually worthwhile back then.

Meanwhile 30+ years later: $80 for a digital-only game you don't own with paywalled content for $100 and more than likely in the future an invasive DRM plus kernel level anti-cheat on the PC side as well as microtransactions and a salt of account-required data collection from one of the greediest gaming companies in existence that couldn't be more obvious about their greedy intention and you hobby-less retards are attempting to justify this.

GTA VI might be the day a sudden uptick in Judaism converts happens.

Two completely different circumstances.

Firstly, Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) was able to release two years after Sonic 2, not thirteen years. Development for both games started after Sonic 2 around January of 1993. There wasn't much wait time between the two entries.

Secondly, Sonic 3 was supposed to release as just ONE game but development costs ballooned when they realized that their ambitions would've needed a more expensive cartridge to manufacture and reproduce. They had to release something to meet deadlines and promotions, so the sensible option was to split into two and release Knuckles later. There's no technological reason why GTA VI would have to segment four customization suites behind a DRM/DLC purchase when it's already in the game itself.

Thirdly, Knuckles released in a special cartridge to allow Sonic 3, even Sonic 2, to be expanded upon thanks to lock-on technology. Plug and play to expand your Sonic trilogy. GTA VI, currently, is releasing digital only. No physical media to keep or return/resell. If your account gets banned, you lose access to GTA VI.

Stop arguing surface level points; you look like a uninformed jackass. Oh, and I shouldn't have to say this, but Genesis cartridges were physical media that can indefinitely be played, stored, kept and recomplied.

Just how many people want to buy GTA 6 for what it is offering and not just because "its GTA 6" ?

They just remember the hype that the old games had and how GTA 4 broke sales records and then 5 did it again so of COURSE they have to keep the streak going, right, guys?!
More likely the long rumored gay pride mission storyline is going to happen and didnt get scrubbed as speculated

I still wonder how it will go down because there is no way in hell modern Rockstar will ever allow the player to attack the pride parade in any sort of fashion.

It will most likely be a story mission with the pride happening on the background or something and if any harm comes to it (be it the player's or maybe the villain's actions, wouldnt surprise me), it will be an instant mission failed. And if they are recurrent (maybe after said mission), they will be fancy cutscenes the player can watch with no input whatsoever. Maybe you can even partake in minigames but, again, no violence towards them WHATSOEVER, chud.

Modern Rockstar is a fucking joke.
The only "confirmation" we have of GTA VI leaning towards that political direction is a Bloomberg article by Jason Schieder. The final product hasn't been seen yet of HOW they would go towards being "woke." Everything is just speculation that develops into blind outrage with no refutable evidence.

Perhaps you are right that we technically making assumptions, but thats really based on the fact that the game didnt come out so we cant tell 100% for sure. The problem is that Rockstar has devolved so much that it wouldnt surprise anyone if they made it woke, there is no faith in them whatsoever.

Thats not even a woke issue necessarily but brand trust.
This came from one supposed Brazilian insider with no proof whatsoever.

Idk, Wultah, after the Digital circus leak, brazillians are kind on a roll when it comes to exposing shit like this (mostly because it is pointless to expose corruption within their own government, that shit aint ever fixing itself)
How can you whine about it being a normie game made for normies, and then be surprised when it won't allow you to act out your racist fantasies. Surprise! Normal people do not like racism. And do not want to play racist crap.

Sir, I think you'd fit in better over there

The only thing that worries me is where Take-Two's greed draws the line. The fact that they're locking so much content behind the ultimate edition, like nails and even shops, makes me wonder how hard they're going to milk GTA Online.
It's probably going to be the first time they'll try to capitalize on RP, hence the buyout of FiveM's team, so I think the odds are high that they'll try to sell the RP module behind another monthly subscription and go full jew mode, not only shitting out vehicle DLCs every month but also furniture packs, the way EA does with Sims.

Doesnt matter how Jew they go, they can always go...jew-er

Exactly, the best thing to do is to wait and see how its writing is, then go from there. I'm not going to go into tirades about it since that's not the crux of GTA VI's issues as a product itself.

You niggers all forgot that gaming has always been expensive.
Gaming is a luxury, yes. But there were ways then to make gaming accessible to audiences without needing to break the bank. As a child, I wanted the PS3. Too expensive, so I was gifted a PS2 with plenty of games to play.

Then, I was able to upgrade to an Xbox 360 midway in its lifecycle because of expected price drops and bundles. Meanwhile, the used games market was flourishing to where you could find games for cheap and even download demos online.

Speaking of which, the retro gaming market now is becoming expensive as well to where older consoles and games that were once cheap to obtain now cost almost half as much as a new console. So, yeah, it's one thing that gaming could turn into an expensive hobby, it's another thing entirely to where the expenses are now outweighing any long-term value.

So, basically, no, gaming hasn't always been "expensive" since there were cheaper options readily available for people.

Ok. S&K was its own game. Plus you could lock on with the other Sonic games. Sonic 3 got you the full game Sonic Team wanted to release but couldn't due to costs and time. It allowed you saved your game and you could play as Knuckles and Tails, too. Sonic 2 got you knuckles in Sonic 2. And Sonic 1, among other titles, got you the Blue Sphere mini game.

And S3&K is widely held as one Sonic's best games. So for $150 in 1994, not too bad of a deal.

The first half of Sonic 3 was its own game. One could have been happy with just Sonic 3. Its not like the game was buggy and glitchy as hell.

How many times can you run over peds and shoot cops? GTA is a relic of the 2000s that only retards still follow. The PS2 games are ancient, but they aren't without a lack of charm and good music. They were more honest on how the real world works. San Andreas is about a bunch of criminal niggers being unrepentant criminals, you know, like reality. GTAV the nigger in that is treated like the only one that was redeemable.

Rockstar devs are now a bunch champagne socialist, fat fucking White women that worship brown people and hate republicans.
It’s really hard to get excited about GTAVI. The paywall shit, lack of any gameplay, pre-order hype, and general feeling that this is going to be an endlessly monetized train of goyslop is one thing.

The other thing is that GTA showed the world for what it is. Mexican gangbangers running coke, west coast hood niggas shooting it out in the street for the same piece of garbage territory while the feds pull the strings, mobsters doing mobster shit in New York, vapid west coast cunts running around seeming like the most important people in the world.

It’s like all of the ugly caricatures of the braindead NPC goycattle from GTA V somehow managed to take over Rockstar and turn GTAVI into more than a parody of the most retarded version of America because they themselves are in charge of making it.

Those same braindead people subhumans created a world where a good GTA game can’t exist anymore. Imagine The Onion making “The Grabbler” skit today. Imagine half of the shit Rockstar could get away with back when GTA was good. It just can’t happen and these chucklefuck niggercattle troon devs made it this way. I seriously just hope GTAVI fails spectacularly and the franchise can quietly die because after V, everything that made 1 through V great literally isn’t possible anymore.

Oh, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the strong and beautiful absolute braindead niggerfaggots couldn’t figure out how to game dev, so not only is it years late, but it’s probably going to be the buggiest shit imaginable, you know, on top of the microtransactions and DEI/BRIDGE gay woke shit.

They're going to milk this shit even harder than they did V with multiple remasters and pushing harder on goycards. It'll be far into the 2030s before they start talking about the next game. The campaign is an after thought when all the real money is going to come from online in the long term. They'll make several times their budget, but they'll possibly get even more from the online side of things. People tend to forget how popular it was, even though it became toxic as fuck. They probably made hundreds of millions in the online of V this year alone from the hype of this piece of shit.

The game isn't going to fail. That's just retarded and there's too many normie niggercattle that'll buy it up. But that's not to say it's going to be liked when the dust settles. I think V was incredibly overrated before it was cool. I remember the endless RDR2 dicksucking at release, but now it seems 50/50 with it's reception. The bloated and retarded intro made me steer clear. And the posts in here about the actual game just reinforced that, even on sale. I don't have time for that shit. I didn't care for IV and played it once, but I at least enjoyed the map and grittiness to it. V just felt like a more polished Saints Row with even gayer vehicles.

rockstar is lucky i pulled out early and spent my money on first light. i will make the same mistake again and get it when i have 100 dollars of disposable income ready to use

I do wonder if proper dedicated portable systems and not Steam Deck crap and definately not portable current gen systems will ever make a comeback.

They were for years the cheaper alternative to the expensive main consoles, to the point Game Boy kept the lights on for Nintendo during the dark N64 and Gamecube days.

This further proves that GTA VI does not exist in a vacuum anymore. It's a reflection of modern-day Miami, coupled with it being reactionary towards the current political zeitgeist. It wants to cater to nostalgia from 80s Vice City, while being its own modern take on Bonnie & Clyde. It needs to sell like hotcakes, but current economic factors would make that a hard sell.

Bought the Ultimate edition like a cuck. I don’t think other companies are going to try to increase their prices. They all know they aren’t on the level of GTA and Rockstar.
Most games aren't worth more than $50. They rely on consooomers to bug test them. It's comical it's expected that on day one most games are bricked.

Well said. Even if we still had "old Rockstar" it would be very tough for them to hit the right tone in this current climate. With modern Rockstar I have absolutely no hope.

And reality is now crazier than fiction anyways. You can't parody when reality itself has become the parody.
