The only potentially interesting thing I would be interested in the show exploring is GaaS and what that means for ongoing games. Like, can you beat WoW? I guess in a manner of speaking you can complete all raids and story content but what happens when the next patch releases? What justifies completing a game like this when the story continues in a general cadence?
I doubt this will be tackled because it’s mainly going to be memberberries of games from over a quarter of a century ago but if you make a world that opens possibility to these settings being able to exist then you should be prepared to have an explanation.
Similarly, what about PvP only games? What constitutes “beating” TF2? Even ignoring when servers shut down in however many years in the future, you can still play offline against bots, so it’s not like it will cease to be when the servers shut down. Does Kit need to turn 2fort into a 24/7 no-cap server to prevent the game from imploding?
There’s potential but I already know with actual mouth breathers like Arin on board the writing will make Sonichu look like the Great American Novel by comparison.
