Gaming Youtubers who don't suck?

Just discovered a new one, and in a big way. His name is Vote 4 Holt. Get ready for this dude, because he is about to blow up. One of the best essayist/presenter I have found in a long long time. He just made me sit through a two hour and seventeen minute video in one sitting and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. This is something that basically never happens to me, mainly because I am not a gamer and have little interest in anything but nostalgic games and it really just takes a lot to impress me when it comes to this kind of content.

Since youtube is hiding the embed here, Here is the video. I had never heard of this game or the story behind it before I clicked on this video, so this was a wild, wild ride from my perspective. Give the man a sub for me if you are into this kind of content.

Here is a Youtuber you might not have heard of yet BeyondUselessMedia He most likely not ever gonna blow up on Youtube. But the guy is honest and do videos about games, movies and some funny stuff. Well worth a watch if you want to chill, and dont want to watch all the desperate career Youtubers, that just make content to earn money. Yes there are still people out there that make Youtube videos just for fun 😎

Martincitopants and Manley Reviews are great and upload infrequently enough they don't bomb your sub feed

The Electric Underground is a good game tuber. He focuses on arcade and action type games, and abhors movie games(last of us, dad of war), and games with tacked on rpg mechanics(every triple a game of the last decade), as well as turn based shit. He loves game like Ninja Gaiden, Streets of Rage 4, Zeroranger(the best game), and is kind of a purist, but a rare videogame purist that does cover newer games instead of just old stuff. Highly recommend.

I watch his vids and I'm 40. He does pretty good videos and isn't afraid to shit on games when they suck.

Pointcrow is one of the most annoyingly fake human beings I've ever seen. Do they grow late 20's soyboy kidtubers in a lab or something
I can see why you'd say that, some of his content is interesting though.

An example of blatant & fake videos catered to morons, teens and TikTokers would be the "something bad happens when I say/pronounce this" (which other youtubers do as well). The whole premise is based on LARPing as a retard and their chat eating it up.

You can't tell me he is anything but annoyingly fake in this.

Normally I hate the genre of 'Sarcastic zoomers playing videogames made before they were born' but I kinda like this guy's videos.

His Ninja Gaiden videos are pretty pretty funny. I like his chill, dry delivery.

I have not watched that.

But yeah, he has the super enthusiastic "vibes" or extra emotional response when something goes bad in the videogame, however I do think that while it is sometimes exaggerated for an audience, it somewhat aligns with his genuine behaviour, more so than if other person were to do that.

Absolute fake content is the ones I mentioned (e.g: "I die every time I accidentally say the letter e" or similar), but for example his collabs with Smallant or other people can be fun. I cannot give a recent good example because for some reason he went extra obsessed over Kaizo-Ironmon (which I don't care about) for a good while, so I have not watched much recent content.

whoisthisgit, he's a guy who's been doing youtube for almost 20 years and I love his type of content. He usually likes to take a certain topic (usually Boss Fight Analysis or Creepy Endings) and talks about multiple retro games (that range from very popular to obscure) or just a singular game with the current premise. Most of his videos are text commentary, but I never miss having a voice in these videos anyways (he's also British, so I imagine that "no voice" is a plus for most people lol). I'd recommend for anyone who feels nostalgic towards old Youtube or just likes retro gaming in general.

This is a kinda cheating, but I love MagicMush's gaming videos. I say cheating because not only he isn't exclusively a gaming channel (he mostly talks about Internet History/Culture kinda like Internet Historian), but his gaming videos are usually more meta commentary about the gaming industry/culture rather than reviewing or playing a specific game directly, which is exactly why I enjoy them. His latest video about the TORtanic was very good for example.

I can't believe whoisthisgit is still around, used to watch his creepy bad endings videos when I was a kid assuming I'm thinking of the right guy

I like Astralspiff, he plays mascot horror (and other indie slop) games but clearly doesn't give a shit about lore or anything, most of his content is challenge runs and his videos are generally just edited down streams so it's second monitor content but he just seems like an all around chill guy with insane patience. Plus his cat is cute.

Pojr is a decent one I found recently. I had no idea just how weird the gaming market was in the Atari days until I marathoned some of his stuff.
Imagine a world where Quaker was still publishing games.
