Furiosa was evidently in development for awhile, so Warner was stuck with another turkey that couldn't really be saved even with more reshoots. It's a franchise-killing embarrassment, so Warner will probably come back five years from now with a reboot directed by some nobody who has mostly helmed music videos, someone the studio execs see as pliable and starring a "diverse" actress with a jawline like that of a steam shovel as Mad "Maxine".
There's no shame in directors starting with music videos. There's multiple great directors who started with that like David Fincher and Antoine Fuqua. Even established director's do commercial shit like that for (1) the money and (2) to experiment. For example:

So Ya Boi Zack decided he would get buttmad about the failure of Furiosa and blame it on the evil chuddies for assuming that maybe the fact it was a girl boss movie (or at least appeared to be one) may have contributed to it's financial downfall despite it's positive reactions...well I would say mixed some aren't so into it.

The video is utterly bizarre and goes on for nearly an hour, he sounds utterly blackpilled and demoralized and seems to imply that people should still support movies, even if they are pushing out toxic divisive propaganda and don't actually deserve to make money.

For the record I get getting fed up of the culture war youtubers who sometimes clutch at straws but this guy who used to be so against DEI crap suddenly getting upset that people are outright rejecting it is utterly stupid.

Did so many people tell Chris Hemsworth he was so funny in the 2016 Ghostbusters film that it just messed with his brain or something? "He acts too goofy" seems to be a common complaint I hear about him now between Thor and this.
He has no self respect so he will let scripts walk all over him and men in general. He's a doormat willing to do anything to be in a film and he gets his roles because he's the perfect modern hollywood male actor.
Women dont go action movies. Soyboys are the type to watch it on netflix. Especially agter covid made theatres yucky to them. The one woman i heard express interest is waiting for Netflix. Women only want to go see a movie in theatres if it is a certain degree of popular.
Women have always gone to see action movies with their husbands, boyfriends and dates. They are one of the few places men and women can meet in the middle to enjoy a movie on their own terms. It's why many of the classic action films involve a love story. Terminator has the relationship for women and the action for men.

Mad Max isn't going to be harmed by this. It's a spin off no one wanted and no one will remember. Same as feminist ghostbusters. Give it a year and it will only be mentioned in passing and left on Netflix. They could do a proper Mad Max film next week and people would be interested if it wasn't pushing bland women again.

I get what Zack is trying to say: It sucks people wrongly assume girlboss movie and celebrate its potential failure. It is not our fault this happened though. It is Hollywood 's fault that the audience was trained to see women protags as woke. We did not start the fire and all we are asking is for Hollywood to stop being woke. Most audiences would flock to the theaters after that.

He’s a contrarian. I figured that out when he blacked out over Indian Jones not doing well. He actually tried to act like people were hurting Harrison Ford by not just going and consooming the movie.

Then he did it again with Velma. He didn’t want to believe Scooby-Doo has 3-4 generations of fans, so anybody mad must be grifting. (Even though it actually unified the internet with the dislike for it)

Then he did it again with X-Men 97 not actually doing well with viewership.

It’s ok for him to give the same stale, obsessive rants on retards like Mags, Vita Ayala, Heather Antos, Danny Lore, Tee Franklin, etc., but anybody else with a problem with entertainment better shut up and buy.

I’ll say it again, the worst people in the culture war are the spineless bitches who swear up and down they’re above it, yet always manage to show up to every battle.

It's been awhile since I've seen people doing it for free so hard on Twitter. They are blaming every possible thing you can think of on the movie not doing well besides Furiosa being a bland, pointless character who did not deserve to carry a movie. I can't even remember any definable trait about her from Fury Road.
Robot arm is her character trait.

Anyways, what also hurts this movie is casting Anya Taylor-Joy. She just doesn't have the physique of an action star. So, when you put her on all the posters and ads, your brain goes, "This teenage girl is an action star?" Not, "This lady looks tough."

@Shiverpeaks

Men used to take their girlfriends to action movies yes. But men who take women to movies are usually younger men.

Guess who is having an epidemic of not being able to get a girlfriend anymore? And chad views the movie date a failure mode. He may turn it on in 3 months for Netflix and chill.

More normal guys with girlfriends arent looking to go to girlboss movies anymore either. And this movie has zero family appeal.

You make a good point.

Her character was just not believable in the body of a dainty ickle girl with permanent resting fish face.

OG Furiosa actually looks like she lives up to her name.

And the action scenes were just boring compared to Fury Road. I went to see ridiculous battles full of over the top theatrics, but it was just very generic action movie stuff.

Also, some plot aspects were randomly dropped and never addressed again.

6/10

For starters, I am disinclined to watch a Furiosa solo film because I never liked Furiosa. She was the least enjoyable part of Fury Road because it was immediately obvious she was George Miller's writer's pet and he was going to sideline Max in his own franchise. The existence of this prequel has proven that to me.

Second, has anyone noticed on social media this surge of movie accounts bellyaching about no one going to the movies anymore when "such bombshells as Furiosa and Fallguy aren't selling tickets!"? It stinks of astro-turfing, because I opened up Twitter on Saturday and it was all I saw in my feed. My guess is the typical slack-jawed movie essay faggots got their marching orders and are doing damage control. I remember that same energy when Wonder Woman came out and everyone was tripping over themselves to say, "Wonder Woman is the first good DC movie in a while," while Wonder Woman was just as shit as the rest of DC's tripe and everyone admitted it wasn't good after the astroturfing died down.

Whoever told Hemsworth he was funny has done irreparable damage to his acting ability.

Also, is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Thunderdome has just taken over as the defacto representation of the Mad Max post apocalyptic setting? Nuclear fallout wasn't even the reason for the apocalypse in the original Mad Max, it was an energy crisis that caused modern society to putter out and go feral. Thunderdome was the first Mad Max film to even mention radiation, and Thunderdome was not even originally a Mad Max script, it was adapted from an unrelated screenplay. Mad Max seems more like a style than a specific setting anymore, like Steampunk.

Oh well, I guess it was nice that we got The Road Warrior.

Zack complains about the fan perseption of Furiosa- PART ANOTHER ONE

Jesus Christ the smug strawman-ing to appear like he’s above it all is off the charts.

If I didn’t read comics myself, I’d be concerned if he’d lied this much in all his past content. There’s no huge anti-SJW push against this movie, because nobody was talking about it before it came out, and all the people who’ve seen it seem to be able to do, is shame others for not going to see it.

Him, Critikal, film twitter. This is the weirdest phenomenon to come out of online media discourse yet.

I caught a matinee showing and it was enjoyable enough, but as almost everyone else has said, not as good as Fury Road., but still better than the usual crap being shoved out recently. It's longer than it needs to be and drags a bit in the beginning, but I think most people would find it enjoyable. Most people can safely wait for it to hit a streaming service though.

If someone hasn't seen either film, I'd recommend they start with Furiosa as Fury Road works perfectly well being treated as the superior in every way sequel. It's a tighter movie with better action and, for anyone disturbed by resting fish-face, a better actress for Furiosa.

Zack 's Furiosa videos are best being described as "good points argued badly". He is not wrong about what he says but he is too angry to see that that the fans might have a point too.

He says that people perceived that movie as woke without seeing it, ignoring how many times people went to see a movie with a woman protagonist that turned out to be woke.

He says that Anti-SJWs have a message that they hone to better attack. MF OF COURSE THEY DO! MOST OF US CALL THAT MAKING ARGUMENT AFTER SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING TO US! IT IS NO HONED ATTACK! IT IS DEBATE! THAT IS NORMAL! When we "attack", we either agree with each other or agree to disagree. When SJWs attack, they want blood! It is not the same!

He says that the director never said anything pro-SJW or anti-fan and while that might be true and he propably does not deserve this, people have been condicioned to assume the worst about creatives. You could say that many people have walked away from most of Hollywood by now.

He also says that people desire destruction and to bring Hollywood down for Shapirowood. While yes there are fringe elements that want that most do not. Most want to stop insults against the audience, stop virtue signaling in any form, stop discriminatory hiring practices, stop pointless gender/race/sexuality swaps and the production of good entertainment products to resume. The entire last year was almost completely filled with SJW crap for crying out loud!

He is not wrong in what he says as the movie might have been treated unfairly, Anti-SJWs also have an agenda that they can be rather pushy with and yes, people have become rather bitter with hate after all these years of slander and being called -ists and -phobes and bigots.

I think he might be too angry to make good arguments now but he should take a step back and ask if he can meet the fans halfway.

Never forget that Ya Boi was an extra in a low budget porno with his GF.
Now, I know that I risk sounding like a coomer on 4chan but do you have sauce?
