Don't get used to it. SE realized people didn't want to wait around for cutscenes during dungeons. We like to go fast, especially if we have to do it over and over. So after that, they kept the cutscenes for after the dungeon is done.
Well, I figured it was a special occasion for the final dungeon of the story arc anyway, so it's not like I had expected them to do it more. I just thought it was a fun novelty.

It also has all the comedic value you think it has. The only fun part about Castrum and Praetorium is finding out how many barely dressed group members you were matched with.

I did MSQ with a buddy and he stripped naked for the cutscenes and he was unfortunately placed next to me most of the time so when Gaius was delivering his speech, a Wildwood Elezen's junk was right next to my face through all of it.

That's what you get for being a catboy/girl or dragon girl.
My main is neither of those lol

I was able to cut in a World of Darkness run where 1/3 of the run rage quit. I have to say, that's a first. Alliance C was having issues with Angra Mainyu. I honestly can't imagine him being that difficult.

So I've been going around seeing what I can unlock at level 50 past praetorium, just doing a bunch of quests, and I think Hildibrand is the best character in the game so far. I'm assuming this is one of those things where I'm missing context cause I never experienced 1.0, but I don't even mind.

Directly quoting from the wiki, this is about all that you missed from Legacy:

Hildibrand traveled around Eorzean inns to solve any trouble he could find, meeting the Warrior of Light who either solved the issue or helped him out. Some of Hildibrand's misadventures ended up getting him in trouble, such as getting a beating from Yellow Jackets while posing as a bandit.

Prior to the Seventh Umbral Era, Hildibrand searched for the hero foretold to face the threat of Dalamud in Ul'dah where he came across an old farmer who was a warrior in his youth. Misunderstanding the prophecy of Urianger Augurelt while helping the farmer tend his pumpkin field with seeds and Bomb ash, Hildibrand believed he is the foretold hero and decided to fight Dalamud.

Nashu found the late Nael van Darnus's gun-halberd, Bradamante, that ended up in the farmer's possession after buying it from a merchant in Coerthas. When the inspector tried to use what was believed to be a weapon no longer functioning, Hildibrand was sent flying towards Dalamud after the resulting explosion caused by a spark from Bradamante igniting the Bomb ash.

That being said, you have fine taste. You might also be interested in knowing that there's a vocal number of the XIV community that absolutely hates the Hildibrand stories because the team puts so much custom work and assets into those instead of "improving" the presentation of actual, serious story and cutscenes.

Maybe if I was more invested in that main story I'd relate to that but I remember feeling my eyes glaze over at the drawn out political drama in coerthas while goofy detective muscle man made me laugh.

More fool them. It's been officially stated that Hildibrand is the testbed for the animators to see how far they can push their techniques, many of which are later reused to make the actual MSQ cutscenes better as well.

Are you trying to insinuate that a good portion of the XIV playerbase are short-sighted idiots who throw fits and bitch at the first sign of not having things their way immediately?

Because you'd be completely correct. And this is something that hasn't really changed in 7 years.

A Twitter user who was allegedly Goldentot's girlfriend (Who of course made her twitter account protected https://twitter.com/anhyuwu ) tried cancelling him on Twitter with a 9-pages long document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/...review?pru=AAABdy28toA*IwF2C5YuWUNbx1OfUgdF8Q or an archive in case it goes down https://archive.md/5bgU0 .

It's the guy on the right who looks like he's about to devour Yoshida:

Allegedly he cheated on his girlfriend, who begged her mom to let the guy who "initiates rough sex constantly" live in their basement. The person he cheated with ( https://twitter.com/gome__ne ) apparently got ghosted.

What I don't understand is how this woman knows that goldentot is a notorious cheater, but then acts like him cheating is strange behavior, and acts as if cleaning up his shit on a daily basis is normal behavior.

As per usual, cue the XIV twitter army giving her asspats for being "courageous". Nest has decided to drop goldentot from their roster ( https://twitter.com/Astes_/status/1350364835586985987 ). Goldentot posted an apology ( https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sri5s2 ).
I mean the second I found out he rolled a catboy I knew he was a piece of shit.

It's not exactly shocking he'd do stuff like this.

Probably stood in the same bad AoE more than twice, otherwise Angry Manjew really isn't that hard.

It has odd mechanics that the average pleb would fail to understand, AoE that can instantly kill depending on how many are in the AoE which can be easily avoided if everyone try to walk away from the circles, also that doom gaze. But heck the boss isn't as hard as Cerberus.

The doom is what gets 90% of the new players. They don't know that they can just cleanse the doom by stepping on the glowing pads most of the time and end up just keeling over dead after every single mortal gaze. Even when you tell them, they ignore you and die anyway because their eyes glaze over when the fight starts. Even worse too if both of the healers keeping dying to it. I've been in alliances that just could not clear it no matter how many times it's explained and WoD was the only alliance I've ever had to outright abandon. I don't even have that much trouble with the first boss of Dun Scaith or the second boss of Weeping City. That's how bad it is lol.

Funny enough, you learn the whole "get doom, step on glowing plate to make it go away" way back in Sunken Temple of Qarn, a level 35 dungeon.

I will say my most embarrassing moment was during Cerberus where I held one of the chains for uptime but forgot there was a timer and then I promptly wiped the raid after it ran out. I watched in horror as the chains disappeared from my hands and Cerberus got up and just started deleting people.

...I made an oopsie poopsie.

Enjoy them, they also contain a lot of lore. He existed because they were going to shut 1.0 down and said "fuck it, go nuts".

Huh, that explains why later expansions felt more soulful.
