What about the oil that let's you get the sparkly tome weapons from Radz?
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that they for some reason added the oil to the rewards you can buy. Criterion only, sadly. But hey, you can get a pretty dapper umbrella skin for your BLU to make up for the lack of content (I still cannot believe the expansion taking place in the birthplace of Blue Mage features 0 Blue Mage content.)

I think they're referring to the glamour pieces you can obtain with the potsherds which do come from the normal version. That's the same with all the other variant dungeons. The only real cosmetic rewards that are locked behind Criterion are the extra mounts, weapons, and accessories iirc
I just want the pants for the glamour. Is that that locked behind advanced?

You get three potsherds per run, so if you clear all three paths you're good. I'm currently working on clearing all the routes because the dungeon looks amazing and the final bosses of each route are pretty fun.
It's still insanely gay that your reward for unlocking all paths in Merchant's Tale is just a sleeping mask instead of a mount like the last 3.

In other news, I'm just over here, rubbing my hands together like a greedy jew as I sell several black mech mounts for 400k and other goodies from CE like glamor, barding and other mounts. I'm grinding and also profiting.

Got into a practice pf for dt extreme 3
The last 2 where simple enough but this one had some tricky mechanics you need to try a few times to get it
The first group I got into had a pants on head retard who couldn't grasp simple concepts like stand on the glowy bit, Thankfully the second group i got into was better and had a guy who gave great advice

Coming from ESO, every heal is either a smart heal (it goes the lowest health character) or it's a ground aoe. I got a rude awakening when I played healer my first time and assumed it was just as bread dead as it in ESO.
Ms. Gabbiani was a big ESO fan. Tried to get me to play too since she knew I enjoyed healing. That didn't last long as everyone we grouped with was even more braindamaged as FFXIV casuals and would stand in AOEs or not do mechanics and die. That or the tanks couldn't hold aggro for shit.

I do agree with how easy it was control-wise to play Healer. Just mash your heal skill and throw out some staff attacks to refill MP. Would have put me to sleep if not for the shitters.

Yeah playing ESO and WWM has given me a good appreciation for the healing and healers in general. I heal in both of those games and let me tell you, even if the healing itself was somewhat braindead, the shitters who would just charge in without a fucking care, and get hit with every single attack thrown at them and then screech like banshees at me for not keeping them alive whilst they wildly and stupidly flail around into every single aoe was a fucking challenge that would both make me sweat and have me question the general intelligence of your average gamer.
The healing in WWM follow similar mechanics to the healing in ESO except there's no "MP" for WWM but a resource that you accumulate which you can then spend to do burst healing or to give a single target powerful regen. Your standard heal has you heal whoever has the lowest health automatically, although it is kind of a little finnicky, I often had to manually target someone for the heal because despite being lowest health, they just weren't getting healed.
The worst time of healing I had is in WWM where there is actual skill involved because the game is basically Wuxia Elden Ring. A lot of the bosses attacks can be parried or dodged but most of the time, you'll get braindead people who just charge in and mash buttons while the boss wails on them. Healers don't really have much, we have an AOE heal where we drop a puddle that heals over time and we have an umbrella that basically heals anyone we're close to continuously for a set time period. If someone knows what they are doing, very easy for me to heal them. They know to run into my puddles, they know to run to me for the umbrella heals etc. But man, I could feel myself having a aneurysm every time I watched some fucking moron run at the boss, get swatted with an obviously telegraphed attack and then die instantly. Bosses have mechanics that have to be followed as well. Like the donkey sage fight where he throws 2 people into the air. There's a puddle that you're supposed to run into that turns you into a donkey and after becoming a donkey, you're supposed to run under a floating player and then CATCH them. If you don't do anything, they fall to the ground and die instantly. The amount of people who just ignore them and let them die is STAGGERING. Oh and by the way, in WWM, you have A LIMITED AMOUNT OF RAISES per boss fight and there can be a scenario where you're the ONLY healer in a group. If the healer dies, there is literally no way to raise them without another healer present.

At least in 14, while most of the time I'm falling asleep in dungeons and raids as a healer, I get the odd group that is so bad that I actually have to put my healing chops to work and man does it feel good knowing that I basically carried a group. In a weird way I appreciate the shitters when I heal because they actually allow me to do my job.
I'll still call you a cunt for not moving out of an aoe on time though.

I think worst I've had while learning Tank (both Paladin and Dark Knight) was having an impatient magic DPS start doing pulls so I get forced to wall to wall else things start to become unmanageable.

This is with a clear rookie healer mind you, but we somehow cleared the wall to wall without any deaths (though I came very close). The rookie was panic healing on me even when the pull was clearing out and said DPS started giving him shit for heal spamming (instead of helping with damage) and making the pull slightly longer to kill. I had to tell him to shut the fuck up.

I'm pretty good at seeing how good a healer is with testing pulls (plus pulls are easy if DPS can clear the first set of pulled mobs before the pull stops), but sometimes you gotta take things slow.
