I actually think it's starting to tip from Y2K to like... 2003/4? Here's some from their last studio collection:

Looking to the past for fashion inspiration is kind of a cheating because history has its way of filtering out the good stuff from the bad. The recent 80s and 90s revivals show that everyone forgets about the worst popular trends and irrelevant fads of each era. For example I haven't seen any sign of the clothes Scotty and Michelle Trachtenberg’s character wore in Eurotrip (2004) coming back in style anytime soon:

My conclusion is that fashion in the UK this year is complete ass. H'n'M is circling the drain and it's kinda galling to see that the US website still sells fairly normal outfits by comparison

As an aside, I've never liked the "eyebrow slit" for men:

Just because when I go around IRL it doesn't look like in that image at all, but more like the guy is going to rob and stab me, or sell me drugs. Maybe I'm on the wrong side of town.

For women when it comes to hairstyles, the half shaved head is just a downgrade:

Done some thinking and I think 2011-13 was the most cursed era of fashion in a long time.

Mens fashion was just tacky and loud, nothing at all redeemable

As for women, the middlebrow were being dressed in skater dresses and peplum blouses with tight pants, not to forget all of the bright oversized jewellery. Designers really had 18 year old chicks going on nights out dressed like secretaries

More lowbrow women were dressing like Kim K or one of the Jersey Shore ladies, a lot of tan and makeup with full belayage, (you may still see these women if you live in the Middle East, bonus points if they're strutting through Dubai airport with designer luggage)

When equally awful Y2K fashion has stopped being referenced I really hope this stuff isn't revived in a decade. Thank God for the 90s revival and tumblr indie stuff so people stopped dressing like this by 2014.

Is nothing sacred anymore? Then these same people have the gall to bash people about 'CULTURAL appropriation" for wearing dreadlocks like they OWN that particular hairstyle.

For me it's the hair. She looks terrible as a blonde. A stylist friend of mine had some up-close shots on Facebook and you could see how poorly her hair responded to being lifted that far. The hair wasn't evenly blonde and the bun was very small because of breakage and damage from the bleaching.

The hair is the exact same shade as the dress and looks awful with her skin tone. If Kim wants to go with a different color hair a dark or medium-dark red would look good, or if she must go blonde a very dark blonde, the one that's almost a light brown, might work.

Some people should never go blonde.

I don't get the whole "potato sack" thing because they aren't deathfat levels and could just go to Torrid or whatever and get ANYTHING that looks better than a potato sack.

Old fat women don't shop at Torrid. They've probably never even heard of it! Lane Bryant is too much for them.

They shop at Catherine's. Or they did before the pandemic when they closed all the stores and went online only. They were our primary customer. Young fat women didn't really shop there. Middle aged and up. They also shop at Roman's and Women Within, both online only.

All three of those places love that kind of dress. Catherine's has a lot of stuff I think is cute, they do try to follow trends but in a more sedate way, especially compared to Roman's and WW, but all three of them are expensive and cater to older women.

Some darker skinned people can pull off blonde, but Kim is more of an orangey dark because of her hideous false tan, so it doesn’t look good on her. I’ve seen normal, everyday black woman pull off blonde hair surprisingly well. It doesn’t look natural but it still looks fine. Especially because Kim’s hair is a pale yellow/blonde which makes her look bald almost when put against the orange-brown skin.
The thought of all that spray tan and makeup getting on Marilyn’s dress is sickening in all honesty.

Just tying a large ribbon around the waist would infinitely improve the way it looks. It’s so shapeless which makes anyone who wears it look even fatter.
