I felt like marathoning the show and this wouldn't leave my head until I put it down. Going back to how Ducktales and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power are examples of what to do and not to do...
10) Better animated, the men actually have crotches, and the women aren't dumpy/flat.
9) The mysteries (such as Della's disappearance) are actually solved.
8) Whatever issues Frank Angones has isn't inserted into his work.
7) While your mileage may vary with Glomgold, the villains are an actual threats that don't jump ship just because things got hard. Nor are established ones replaced with teenagers who aren't a real challenge.
6) The makers aren't afraid of conflict and saying no to shippers (at least Frank is).
5) Lena betrayed Magica (the first season's big bad) because Scrooge and his crew showed her the care and family she always wanted. Catra only helped Glimmer because Horde Prime wouldn't put up with her shit. Not to mention that Lena had to suffer and work for her happy ending while Catra, Hordak and Entraptra got slaps on the wrists for their bad deeds.
4) Launchpad has his moments of vulnerability and intelligence (in his own way) beneath his himbo demeanor. Seahawk is just a destructive fop who is there to give the finger to the original show's Adora x Seahawk pairing.
3) If Ducktales had an abusive lesbian relationship in it, it would probably be handled with tact, not as something kawaii. Also, the LGBT stuff (see Violet's gay dads or Penumbra being a lesbian) doesn't try too hard.
2) Plot is more important than shipping.
1) The original show and comics are respected and enjoyed while the makers did their homework on the past, not sneered at.
Thanks for putting up with this.
