Anyone else having DNS issues with ProtonVPN?

Edit: Looks like NetShield is the main issue. After that, it's just a matter of trying different nodes until one works.

I haven't used Netshield since September 2022 for this exact reason. It's been happening for years.

I switched to proton today because of your recommendation (and because of problems with my former VPN). I can connect to the .net domain just fine, but I have Wire Guard not NetShield.

edit: NetShield is not the VPN. Still works with NetShield on.

Works fine on PiHole, none of the four block lists I use have kiwifarms on them, and they're mostly the official lists. So, if anyone is having issues with PiHole, it's their own fault for using pozzloaded troonslop block lists.

I'm using Proton right now and it redirects to .st. On Brave browser.

Edit: Still on Brave, enabled NetShield, opened incognito tab, still redirects to .st. Doing nslookup, it does have the can't find domain error. Doesn't have it w/ NetShield off.

I am using windscribe. Copying url to address bar redirects me to .st domain on every server I tried.

the "Xtra" one blocks kiwifarms.st and is pulled in via IVPN for its restrictive setting.

I could not find the one that blocks kiwifarms.net confusingly

If you have off -> load kiwifarms.net -> turn on it will continue to work until your dns cache clears or that entry expires.

if you load the domain first then enable it you may still get a false positive due to dns cache as explained above.
