Some years ago sargon did a video about how leftists like to identify and glorify the villain. The women's march leaders were criminals and George Floyd was one too so this movie like malefiecient before it is par for the course.

She says “I am woman, hear me roar!” in the trailer. That is such a cliche now that every time I hear it said, I can’t help but laugh. Whoever wrote this script and green lit it should be put down like a dog. I might just go see it because it looks that bad 😂
"I am woman hear me roar" makes me think of Rosechu face-raping Jason Kendrick Howell. If your woman empowerment line is so cliched that it was in Sonichu #8 of all things you should probably go with something else.

I know feminism was beginning to make its rounds due to the '50s but holy shit no.

You got all the information you needed about Cruella de Vil in Roger's song. We didn't need an entire origin story about it. They might be creaming themselves over this because they could much more accurately depict Jasper and Horace (two white males) as buffoons since, well, they already were. Unless one of them is gay, then he's the hero.

I’d see a movie that 2009 era Chris Chan wrote the script for. It would be entertaining and possibly better than what people put out now. I could see Chris Chan writing a The Room tier script.

Why do I need a film about a woman with shitty danger hair who revels in being a mentally ill, unlikable bitch when I have twitter and tiktok at my fingertips?

Ah, of course. well-known anarchist and anti-establishment icon Cruella Deville the millionaire fashion designer.
I mean, to be fair, it's not any less idiotic in this movie than irl, where self-declared anarchists and punks wear their conformist brand clothes to shout about being oppressed by the system while being supported by at least 70% of all politicians, almost all news outlets and the vast majority of companies. If anything, it's art imitating life.
Well, at least there's one thing to look forward too:
Copious amounts of Instagram thots trying to repeat that scene of Cruella burning her cloak to unveil her red dress underneath and getting 3rd degree burns on their titties in the process.

Absolutely. He'd put in ridiculous amounts of awkward sex-scenes, just so he can pretend-pork a hot lady and oggle all her naughty bits... you know, like Wiseau and Neil Breen.

I'm so goddamn sick of one-word titles. It doesn't have any kind of impact anymore, every goddamn film title is just one word now and it's boring as Hell. Same with the "calming/uplifting music over chaotic visuals" trope in movie and game trailers.

Lol Disney is trying to capitalize off the "good for her movie" trend around films like Gone Girl and Midsommar. Those are basically the gender (and maybe politics) flipped version of "out of touch dudebros miss the point of Joker and Fight Club", though.

They made it even more obvious that this will be Peak White Woman because they added dogs.

I'll only watch if she has to track down seven Versace crystals in order to turn 50% of all puppies into fur coats. Otherwise this just seems like a pretty on the nose Joker rip-off.

Good Lord! This is a thing? It's hard to think of a Disney villain less viable as making a protagonist. Has anyone here ever seen Twisted? There's a big villain's medley where each of the Disney villains give their side of the story.

I mean you can sort of do a rationale for almost any villain but Cruella literally just wants to skin the protagonists and wear them because she thinks it will make her look good. She's Buffalo Bill from The Silence of the Lambs in high heels.

Scratch that - Buffalo Bill wore high heels. She is him.
