The only thing I remember about Animal Kingdom from a family Disney vacation back when I was in middle school was this massive fucking monsoon level rainstorm hitting. Ended up having to flee the park. My brother almost got swept away because he was still a pretty little guy back then. Had to take refuge in a gift shop where they conveniently had ponchos ready.
one of my favorite moments in being a nerd at Disney World outside of random famous people encounters was when I finally achieved full Florida Man and had Epcot to myself because it was a torrential downpour
Kali River Rapids which I never went on.
those ate, usual "dumping water on you = fun" bullshit
t It's Tough to Be a Bug!
I don't want to know what the "pokes into your butt" does on Zootopia 3d movie

I noped out of the Disney Parks before EE, but yeah I've heard it's nice but lmao disco yeti
Hagrid's Coaster Of Marginal Robots at least still does what it was supposed to , even if the unicorn clearly is recovering from a stroke

There was the one where they murdered an elephant but they nerfed it.
I think the one I caught the mom was killed but the baby lived? but yeah it was like, just dick around Disney Country Safari OR do the tacticool rescue (aka drive next to) dead baby whatevers
I love the dicking around Disney Country Safari, and was pretty meh on "oh no the poachers" like ffs we're at Disney just have us see the shit at Disney

Yes, I rode it the original ride and went back years later and was "where's the dead elephant mom?? I was promised dead elephant mom?!" And found out the ride had been altered due to trauma and such. It was a cool concept but probably should have had a warning like the alien ride, which was also a fun traumatizing time.

I heard from some CM (slightly better source than My Uncle Who Works For Nintendo) that AE was originally going to have the Alien license but it fell through at the last minute
I can believe that a lot

It was supposed to be the Alien alien, that's confirmed or at least has online articles stating it confidently. I've seen sources say it wasn't rights that stopped it but haven't dived too deep into it.

It was apparently too scary.

Either explaination seems off though as Aliens was part of the Great Movie Ride, so what the hell allowed it to qualify for that but not its own attraction?

Disney shpuld have been broken up and sold for scrap in the 80s, like the investors wanted.
I'm actually shocked the DoJ hasn't called for Disney to be briken up under anti-trust laws because of just how much of the entertainment world Disney owns. It's one thing to own in house SFX and animation and TV, but it's another thing when they outright own FOX and ABC and ESPN and God only knows what else.

Disney has throw a lot of bribes - I mean Lobbied a LOT of people over they years. It's probably a safe assumption that someone somewhere is being paid off to ensure Disney doesn't get broken up.

Not to mention they now own 45% of epic games, makers of one of the biggest games in the world so they are taking over video game too.

As Tommy Lee Jones once said "This company is a monster."

No doubt. Disney got copyright laws changed just so they could make more money off of Walt's stuff almost a century ago, so they swing a big stick and write big "campaign contributions" checks.

I share your sentiment. The more that's reveled about Toy Story 5 is showing Jessie is going to be the leader of the Toys.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=VATqYtdMLkMBut don't worry. We get see Woody riding on a doppy MLP knock-off while scowling. Wouldn't that be fun!

Buzz's horse pleases my autism ngl. The Screamlings WISH toy horses were that detailed/well thought out in design.

I went to Disney world in 07 after Christmas and celebrated New Year's there. Very warm, family-oriented and the employees, from what little me could tell, truly enjoyed seeing kids and parents have fun. That was true Disney Magic.

If I went back today I'd probably drink myself to death seeing so many Disney adults and faggotry. You forgot that your company's life blood is actual kids and families. Dig the grave and fucking lie in it, rat.

Well I upgraded my Magic Key to the new Explore Key and I’m already liking the fact that I can now access the theme parks during the summer, I can even access the park on next month's first pin drop of the month. And my family's decided that my birthday gift will be the renewal of said Magic Key, oh joy.
It was apparently too scary.
Yeah, the family-unfriendly vibe that the Alien IP has was what caused Disney to retool AE into an original attraction. There have been talks about what to replace it with for years ever since Stitch's Great Escape closed (one plan would’ve put a Wreck-It Ralph attraction there) but the area has been used as a storage space and Cast Member break area since it closed back in 2018.

From what I understand it basically boiled down to Disney suits feeling that an attraction based off of an R-rated film was inappropriate for the “family-friendly” Magic Kingdom but felt that adding Alien to an opening-day ride at a new park/production studio (think along the lines of Universal Studios Hollywood) was fine.
also we need a theme park nerd general
That’s a thread I've planning on making for as while now, the only issues that have popped up are time and which subforum is the best place to put it in.

Embarrassing fun fact, but on that aforementioned family vacation I got to experience Stitch’s Great Escape before it closed. And it actually scared me, because this was like a year before I actually got really into horror and stopped being a pussy. Now I’m a bit sad that I’ll never have a chance to experience the original AE, even though the last time we stopped by Disney wasn’t too great.

I just want the next wildfire to burn down Disneyland, is that too much to ask?
It's basically surrounded by urban sprawl, the chances of a wildfire reaching Anaheim is basically near-zero. The chemical crisis in Garden Grove was the closest you'll probably get to something on that level and that's easily cleaned up in a matter of days.
ehn, Multimedia seems as good as any (since Uni's just a bunch of movie screens OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
I'm currently working on a general outline for it as we speak.

Here's another fun fact about Stitch's Great Escape: You know that nauseating chili dog "burp" scent that was piped into the attraction? Apparently it's permeated into the walls of the attraction itself and impossible to remove save for replacing the entire wall.

Urgh...
