Don’t feel old. There’s always more of them around. I still use DVDs/Blu-Ray. Better to own what I like than borrow it for a month.
I was already in junior high and almost in high school when DVDs became mainstream. Growing up I had Disney movies on VHS and Betamax because my dad thought Beta was going to win out over VHS. He also bought an Amiga for our first computer. Poor guy always picks the losing side.

I was not expecting Toy Story 5 to skirt so close to race war territory. Jessie calls the technology "device" with the scathing hatred of "nigger".

But yeah, kind of a lame film. Buzz and Woody being shoved off to the side as it is, I was expecting Lily to play a bigger role than she ended up having, and I actually thought the idea of the film was actually interesting. Kids don't really play with toys anymore, it's all about screentime. And I really wonder why the writers are so obsessed with Buzz, or a new Buzz, or whatever, essentially acting like he did at the start of Toy Story 1. Now we have a small army of Buzz Lightyears that act like real life space rangers. Also there was like thirty of them just flying around like drones and apparently NO ONE noticed.

Also basically every old toy from the earlier films that that aren't Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and Bullseye did literally nothing the entire movie.

Sounds like Disney Plus fodder.

I grew up with the Disney canon on RCA Selectavision Videodisc

One of the things I loved about the original trilogy is how the toys worked as an ensemble cast. When shit went down, everybody had a role to play or was affected from what the main events were going on. It felt alive that way. I think that’s why the second was my favorite. Lots of great moments of the old guard and Buzz trying to get Woody back.

Too bad some of it’s from TOH fans being salty bitches about their show was "unfairly" canceled and Hexed follows a similar premise.
Yeah, I’ve noticed.

I was going to ask “What the hell is so great about The Owl House? To me it just sounds like Harry Potter but with lesbians, more brown people, and worse worldbuilding.” Then I realized I pretty much answered my own question.

The premise is extremely generic but they act like it's very conspicuous for it to have happened for the 49th time after someone used it for the 48th.

It's already Harry Potter, Halloweentown, A House With a Clock in the Walls, and at least two young adult book series I read as a child and don't remember the names of. Edit: It's also Twitches.

Wow, a character looking surprised at a thing! That never happens!

Disney has throw a lot of bribes - I mean Lobbied a LOT of people over they years. It's probably a safe assumption that someone somewhere is being paid off to ensure Disney doesn't get broken up.
Disney spent a better part of a century bribing every local, state and fed govt to get them to do what the Mouse wants.

Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois released a piece of Lilo and Stitch art in memory of Daveigh Chase today.

That said I hope that the sequel for the live-action “remake” isn’t dedicated to her, it’d reflect badly on everyone involved with its production.
Yeah, I’ve noticed.

Yeah, most of complaints seem to be based on the assumption that any sort of LGBTQIABBQBYOBB+ fluff that was present in the beloved-and-unfairly-canceled TV show would be removed from the “rip-off” known as Hexed...

…even though people have explained how the production timelines for Hexed don’t line up at all with TOH’s cancelation and how there’s almost no communication between Disney’s film and television departments.

Every shot is centralized. What's up with that?
I watched a video on Elio that mentioned basically every shot or action is centralized, which gives the feeling that it’s supposed to be easily shared on TikTok.
Saw some Xitter users argue “Well Mad Max did the same thing, and you didn’t complain then!” Yeah, because Mad Max is a fast paced action movie. You’re comparing apples to oranges.

Legit, we're never gonna get a proper answer as to how Stitch will move on from Lilo growing up and getting old (or dying unexpectedly). As an alien GMO, it's super likely he'll live for hundreds or thousands of (human) years, so he gets to see his family die before him. Fucking sucks.

Every shot is centralized. What's up with that?
Animators rebelling against the rule of thirds, I think. But the TikTok explanation is more likely and it's disgusting.
