Even though this show never really reached it's full potential I still have a soft spot for it. I'd place it second behind Futurama in my favourite Matt Groening shows (The Simpsons going on far too long killed it's legacy for mine.)

I swear. When I re-watch Disenchantment. It made me wish the show wasn’t a comedy at times. The show was at its best when it focused on world building and characters. The show's plot holes are all from jokes that contradict the setting. The episode that introduced the steampunk city is one of the best examples of jokes ruining the setting. We expect to laugh at characters for thinking magic is real in a setting where magic is apart from everyday life. Characters were living close with elves at that point.
