I agree, but also disagree. Some mods were OP like Protective Light or something like that, it was giving like 80% damage resist on full charges and was cornerstone for solo dungeons, later heavily nerfed. The one for swords was giving crazy damage buff for rather short period of time (I think 50% for 5 seconds), but it was very strong with whirlwind sword because it allowed 2 full bursts in that window - this was my strategy for solo flawless Pit of Heresy.

The mods in that era were quite annoying since you have to keep armor of different elements and mods were scattered along them. The mods themselves were behind some amount of grind which IIRC was bugged initially or something like that - I remember it because my clanmates had issues with acquiring them.
The problem I had with charged with light was being put into situations where I couldn't generate a charge when I needed it and charges being spent when I didn't want to spend them. I didn't appreciate some of the loss of control that came packaged with them. Skill issue maybe on my part maybe, I'm pretty sure I never used any in gms or hard mode anything.
And yes! There used to be enhanced versions of mods until like arrivals or beyond light. I think they only dropped from master+ nfs but I could be wrong.
For the record, I did my pit and shattered throne solo with omnioculus which was practically cheating but w/e.

I'm happy that Pit and Throne technically have their own loot pools now, even if it's just recycled gear from Heresy and Defiance. Would've been nice to get a gear set based on the scarlet keep for Pit and a proper taken set like the one they are selling for Throne. There's also the new triumphs, I didnt think much of the disgraced flawless until I loaded in solo ultimate and got immediately nuked as soon as I walked up the stairs due to two anti barrier servitors and a group of vandals. Had a lot of fun with it because i found myself fucking around with my build a lot more than I used to. On that note, I find it incredibly frustrating to run activities now because it defaults to master when I want ultimate. If I selected it as my previous difficulty then I want it again.

I really like the Frontline armor set for Titans from the Monument. It looks great, like an armor out of D1.

I love how they came up with random bullshit rules to arbitrarily resurrect every single character and thing in the whole francise, except for SIVA which they repeatedly said would never ever EVER come back. Bungie accidentally made something too cool so they had to lock it away forever because making cool things is Overdelivery

Missed out on the Craftening? Now's your chance to partake in the Artifactening (working title).

There's currently a bug where you can slot multiple copies of the same artifact perk into your artifact, stacking the effects up to seven times for a T1 perk. Some of those end up letting you do absurd damage:
Bungo is already aware of this and has a fix planned for next week, but until then, they've given the go-ahead to make some busted builds and do what you like.

Bungie and their trannys did not make SIVA is why. Most of the team was on D2, they had a support studio (vicarious I think) make Rise of Iron. And it was a story about badass dudes in the mountains killing evil robots. That’s not very culturally sensitive!

SIVA wasn’t just too cool, the egos within Bungie hated it because it wasn’t something they made.

It was made by the bungie live team bringing forward siva which was planned for d2 pre reboot. Vicarious and the Activision support teams were brought in after curse of osiris.

Remember when during Curse of Osiris the player population was going down really fast and the devs scrambled to unfuck the game? Well, I don't think they'll get another Hail Mary and save Marathon.

Similar mechanic called "Charged with Light" was added to Destiny 2 like 6 years ago in, I believe, season where we saved (or doomed) Saint-14. As I know they exist today in the form of "armor charge" mods.
there is a huge difference between farming orbs of light and do a fucktillion stacks for gay shit, especially when you count the fucking tangle/arc orbs or the stasis crystals you can use to grief teammates by having them collide against them on certain elevators to be killed.

still, if i am to take the "new shit" they added into the game for a good consideration, the addition of the surfboards wasn't a bad one, you can skip through a lot of places by using the hover mode.

from the French Journo scum that confirmed the layoffs are still happening. Sony wanted “revenge” for Bungie’s fuck ups and ordered Destiny 2’s shutdown. People within Bungie and PlayStation are trying to pushback but Sony C-suite are not budging.

This means that the game was killed by Sony higher ups, NOT Bungie leadership, and not because of declining sales or cost, but literally just a zipper-headed honor coded execution. What the fuck, nigga?

Lmao them wanting to punish Bungie, if that really is the case, means that their $3.6 billion purchase will be completely wasted since Destiny did have value and a playerbase that is going to be not taken advantage of at all now.

except for SIVA which they repeatedly said would never ever EVER come back.

SIVA has returned but as a tranny tech in the form of Quicksilver which is used in Cloud Striders like Nimbus. It is like SIVA but better since it is not made not by evil white man but commie polycule of Neomuna. At least how I remember it.

D2 actually supposed to have SIVA - one of the strikes on Nessus where you fight a Fallen boss in the fallen ship used to have a lore description that the ship contains SIVA, but they removed it very early (D2 beta I believe). As I know SIVA was cut from game since it is too OP and very hard to write plot around it since most problems in the Universe could be solved by SIVA. Plus Bungietards were too lazy to make new models for the game to make new SIVA-infested models.

I wanted to find Byf video confirming that Quicksilver is built upon SIVA and noticed a video of him hoping that Ash and Iron would bring SIVA and literally next search result is his video ranting about absense of SIVA there :story:

Siva is self-replicating, right? So through just having the Outbreak exotic the City would be able to use it to create a large reserve of it and allow for using it for lots of construction and industry. But alas just like with Rasputin, they're both powerful Golden Age tech and would upset the balance so they had to be killed off.

If this is true, Sony has no one to blame but themselves. Anyone with a brain could have seen that the acquisition was retarded, especially for that price, but they completely shat a brick and panic-bought them when MS bought Activision. They got totally taken for a ride and conned by Jason Jones, Pete Parsons etc with their fake portfolio of upcoming live service games and "expertise" (lol, lmao). And that's not even getting into how Sony's whole live service initiative has been a total failure and a disaster in general, and should have never been done in the first place.

Bungie is basically a parasite that's spent most of their existence jumping from host to host - first MS, then Activision, now Sony - and siphoning all the money/resources they can out of them before they're booted out. And it's looking like it's finally the end of the road.

>designed to be the omnipresent all-powerful defender of mankind
>built during peacetime so for a while he kinda just does nothing
>Black Fleet arrives, he's completely useless against them
>kills a bunch of unarmed civilians on the New Pacific Arcology
>stops the Hive on Mars by freezing them, which fails to actually kill any of them and lobotomizes himself in the process
>decides he wants to kill Felwinter
>tries to hunt down a single guardian for years, fails
>finally gets the kill by luring Felwinter into Site 6 saying he wants to reason with him, then backstabbing him
>kills most of the Iron Lords along with him, ending one of the only groups on Earth earnestly trying to prevent the total extinction of mankind
>refuses to kill any of the aliens laying waste to Sol for decades
>The Guardian and friends repeatedly help him anyway by preventing the Fallen from stealing copper wire from his bunker
>he's apparently powerless to stop this on his own
>later he's unable to stop a bunch of copper wire thieves from stealing SIVA, which results in the events of Rise of Iron
>Mars thaws out and The Guardian is sent to finish off the Hive he was unable to kill
>thanks us for un-lobotomizing him by saying "I'm just gonna keep being a murderhobo lol"
>this continues for years
>in Worthy we temporarily convince him to stop murderhobo-ing
>gets his first confirmed kill in centuries that isn't a random civilian
>it's a Cabal spaceship with nobody onboard
>five seconds later the Pyramids show up again
>doesn't even try to fight back
>just shuts down and fucks off into an engram
>does nothing for years
>gets resurrected, immediately gets taken over by Clovis Bray who tries to kill us
>The Guardian and friends have to bail him out again, this time stopping Xivu Arath's Hive from stealing his copper wire
>tries to calculate a way to save humanity
>after weeks of nonstop calculation finally comes to his answer
>"Ana. I need you to kill me."
>commits suicide-by-frumpy-asian-girl
>never seen or heard from again

Truly, he has no equal.

Siva was a filler episode and everyone needs to move on from the one storyline bungie was able to squeeze dry and end on a good note
